Things have really changed, I remember that back then I found bitcointalk in that way, I just did a Google search and this was the first site that appeared, this show us why we must not trust Google search results as a sign of authority or anything, scammers know very well what they are doing and they will do anything to try to be one of the first results that appear so they can scam more people and get to their money in that way.
I think anyone who joined before the 2017 rally (like me) found this forum as the main site, I don't really remember, but for sure it was the only forum I could join to see answers to questions I asked on Google. These days, people pay to get featured on results. And you only get hits to this forum if you ask something very very particular. Electrum searches still get a lot of relevance I think
I don't know if it's fun to see new people arrive. The best users and most useful answers are generally still from the older bunch.
I have no problem with newcomers in this industry because we actually need them.
It means additional crypto users, and that translates to more demand in the market.
But hopefully, these newcomers should know where to go to avoid being screwed.
Because some of them who got screwed will spread misinformation to the public.
And some of them will quit early once they lost. Getting involved here is not a walk in the park.
And don't expect that you will get rich quick once you touched crypto.
