The only certain for a gambler to quit gambling is just if they loss all their money in the pocket and no penny to use on gambling, Once a person become a gambler the chance of quitting it is very small or impossible because it is already in their mind, So even if you have a limitation and goal but once you are on your bad mood, You can't control yourself to stop the urge of gambling even if you are on the middle of the night as long as you have money on your pocket that can easily use on gambling.

I'm pretty sure every gambler has different attitude and mindset, while there are gamblers who are very aggressive there are also gamblers who are very focus. For me, I can say I belong to the aggressive gamblers because most of the time I am easily affected by my emotion and that ruins my game plan, because of that I now limit my bets and just do it for fun rather than for profit.

Normally it happens because they are tired of losing money while they are not getting entertain anymore, I guess time will come that we will get bored of what we are doing but as gambling industry is growing there are more and more games that will be introduced and we might likely be attracted again. It's a never ending story and you will only force to stop when you do not have money anymore to gamble.

Well, that's stupid, but there is news about things like that, especially addicted gamblers. I heard a news that an individual who is playing in a casino was betting his savings, it was a lot, and it would be stupid to bet it, but he did and what happened was he lost a lot, and he said if he still loses his bet the next time, he will kill himself. Then he was found dead after. It's not a joke.

That was the craziest thing I've ever read here in forum. For sure he is too much depressed with his lost and how come on Earth you will gamble all your savings and the money you work very hard? It's the most stupid thing to do with your savings and in the end too bad that he can't take it anymore, he ended his life. I hope those addicted gamblers will not end up to this situation and will be able to quit gambling.

It is stupid indeed but as you have said he might have been experiencing some kind of mental illness . Those who suffer from that are very sensitive so instead of saying hurtful words, Why not just encourage them that there are many people like family and friends who can help them . Even if one one people reach out to that person we can reduce the chances of him attempting suicide because the best cure from mental illness especially depresson is human interaction .

Exactly mate, there are people here who are depressed and might take his words literally. I really don't want this type of troll or jokes because it isn't applicable. We know that addiction is a real problem of a person and even though there are people that wants to quit for good but still can't help, it is giving them more headache and once they read these type of words, they might do it.

if that person have big money, then its not difficult to try or find new business but if that person don't have much money, then that person can not start anything unless he have a good friends or have a solid family that will help that person to quit gambling. i think if the reason is for family, mostly people which involving in gambling, in the end will be realize that family is more important than only playing gambling.

It is why you need to do something(action) and you need to avoid as you can so that you can completely forget that you are into it. And once you are able to quit it for real, it will make your ways straight again. Thanks for adding the action part of it, without action words are dead and it will definitely more effective if you'll apply it.

It is true, but it is not that they are relying on gambling that much, that is why they can't just quit gambling easily, but the real thing is, they don't know other things where you could earn easy money or they don't want to try other things because they are contented on gambling. Maybe they just want to take all back the money they have lost before they truly quit gambling, or maybe they are earning enough on this, that is why it is hard for them to quit.

Actually you don't to quit on something if you are doing good on it, you just have to quit if you know that you are losing instead you are winning or getting something in return, so there is no point on quitting as long as you are doing just fine.

I also found out playing “play Money” gambling or generally playing other games will take away the need to gamble very much. I have since moved to faucet gambling but I also play NBA 2K in order to spend some time and have fun.

If you are gambling for fun than gaming is fun and you can do it too, if you are gambling for profit than you are already in the know that you won’t profit in the long term. So yeah, play games instead of gambling is a great way of quitting.

By reading her story, I guess gambling is not really for everyone, it's good to see all the risk based on real life experiences so we will be aware that it could ruin our life if we will not be able to take care of ourselves in gambling. To quit is a sad move in gambling because that means gambling has not brought anything good in your life.

I was trying to explain in the below thread as well where the husband as lost his job due to gambling addiction and he cannot leave the gambling now. He has lost his savings as well. If one does not have self control it will be self destructive for one self and for family.
