I updated the FW on that miner because it kept failing out after running a while. and when i shut down bfgminer and brought it back up to bring in the last miner again 3 others started getting 100% errors.

EDIT: now just one has the 100% error issue. it is the one with the updated FW that was having problems before.

EDIT 2: fixed!!! it was a power supply issue. the one failing and the other 2 that failed were all top performers and were causing the power to exceed the power supply's limits. i swapped some units around to get better power balance and now i am hitting 440gh/s on the group of 13.

what temp is needed for the board to cool to startup?
I have em in my garage the board in about 40'c and the 7th led never went off.
(my garage is a little bit warm have 15KW miners in it)

Hi xselam,
As I said in my email, we'll get you a firmware fix for the not starting properly in 40C ambient, and then roll that into the next general firmware update.
Thanks
love you sir
This is why I went from garage > warehouse > bigger warehouse. Heat is nuts.

More like garage > warehouse > divorce for me.

I have 1 miner that will not finish the boot sequence. it just keeps flashing the 7th and 8th leds. i have turned it off for several hours and tried it again still no luck.
Is that batch 1 or 2?  There was a bug in early batch 1 boards that was fixed half way through batch 1.

it is batch 1
I would recommend upgrading the firmware.  Details here:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3531327

I've got two units which won't go through the startup sequence; the 4 right most lights stay solid. Does anyone know what that means when those lights stay on? My other 15 units work perfectly.
Send me an email, I'll help you get those set up and running.

I sent you an email with a better description and pic. Hopefully you can figure out what's causing this. Thanks.
I have 1 unit have the same problem.

Edit: Before someone asks, the bug was due to new behavior in the revision 2 ASIC chips and was fixed (a workaround) with new firmware.

Here is me thinking my ambient of 23c is too high.
When I open the window and reduce to 0c to 5c the family complain!
Where are you at?

Place a sealed ice pack on the unit to cool it down and see if it starts.

Set a free standing fan to blow onto the board and cooler.
the 15kw made the ambient is greater than 30c. no help, firmware is the only way to slove this, I nailed them in the racks and the racks are huge cant move.

Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.
Well, I ran into a problem with two of my Chili's.  I installed ARCTIC Accelero Twin Turbo II units on all the boards but two of them dropped down to 22Gh/s at 67C.

One of the two was in service for weeks before the problem and the other ran fine for two days before it happened.

I used "Fujipoly Ultra Extreme System Builder Thermal Pad - Full Sheet - 200 x 150 x 0.5 - Thermal Conductivity 17.0 W/mK" and the Arctic back plate to prevent flexing.

Should I try using the Arctic paste on these two instead?

Just a heads up, when I used the EVOs on mine, a couple of them would go to 18-22GH. All I did was unscrew and redo the heatsink and if the Fujipoly pad was too damaged, replaced that. It always fixed the issue, it seems that they can be really sensitive at some points.
