It's working, thank a lot Bargraphics.

I can confirm that Noctua NH-U9B SE2 92mm SSO CPU Cooler compatible with The Chili. It came with a backplate, 2 fans, and huge heatsink. Need some washer or spacer to make it fit though.

Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.
Here I use newest cgminer with zadig.

"cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u myaddress -p x -G"

Not hashing, doing nothing. Try it on 2 PCs, same thing. My Bitburner Fury works fine. Change usb cable, same result.

LED 2 blinking
LED 5,6,7 on
LED 1,3,4,8 off

Huh

This is a workaround version of BFGMiner until a new firmware update for the chilis

Here's a modified version of BFGMiner, I also included the driver inside of it as well that should fix your problem. (I don't know much about CGMiner though)

http://www.speedyshare.com/uKncp/BFGMiner-Chili.zip

Open up bfgminer.conf and change the Pool and Username to whatever you want (It currently uses mine so make sure you change it)
Run CDM v2.08.30 WHQL Certified.exe to install the correct driver for windows

Once you do both of those, just open up bfgminer.exe and it should read from the config automatically and start hashing for you.
If it doesn't see the Chili, all you have to do is keep BFGMiner open, unplug the USB, Plug it back in, press M then + then type all or auto and enter. It should find it.

Please note if it still isn't working then you need to exit BFGMiner, unplug you chili power, plug it back in and wait for all the lights to stop blinking. If you try to find the miner while it's "Booting up" it will have issues.
"Booting Up" is the two most right LEDs (Closer to the Power) blinking back and forth. Again once all the LEDs are not blinking anymore it should be ready to start hashing, start your BFGMiner and follow the above steps.

Let me know if this helps Smiley

I can't seems to get my board working. Using bfgminer 3.3.0 I keep getting:

"BFL 0: Failed to send queue, and queue empty; retrying after 1 second"

Any idea what's wrong? Cgminer with zadig didn't work either.

I received 2 boards and both showing the same error.

Try a different pool. Or maybe a newer CGMiner version. What is your start up script?

Fired up my first Chili. Its hashing at 30 GH/S. Anyone have any thoughts how to squeeze 5 or 6 more GH/s out of the unit?

Get some extra fans blowing on the back of it to see if you can cool it more.  My coolers are working the top of the chips well, but the back of the board is where the heat is for mine.  Try a box fan and see if the firmware takes advantage and pumps up the hashing speed.

I think its probably a bum chip.... or several sub par ones? Board #2 right next door is hashing at 35 GH/S with the same cooling.

I'm hoping the new firmware will be up soon so I can just plug the boards into my android... decided to start running EasyMiner on the android because I needed to free up my laptop.

Crazy!
I'm a bit of a hardware geek so I'm a bit biased, but I'd much prefer to have hardware in my hands than any kind of purchased hashing power setup.
Much like your BTC, if you do not have possession of it you do not really own it.

Go back a bit over a year, and how many of the hashing power by the GH/s bonds are still around? GigaVPS is still paying dividends, but retroactive forced an at-your-cost verification process and changed the perpetual bonds into single year bonds. The majority of the rest took the opportunity of GLBSE closing to cut and run.

There are so many things that can go wrong with these scenarios from straight fraud to government regulation changes to the medium of exchange shutting down that comparing having hardware in hand vs having the promise of someone else continuing perpetual payments and not screwing you/quitting/getting hit by a bus on a straight $/GH/s basis isn't a proper comparison.

I totally agree, it's a risky approach. I like to diversify my portfolio. Personally I will definitively keep my own hardware + do some trading on their service.
They own like 19% of the total network power, so I guess the risk is somewhat limited, they must have some big money behind them.
What I like with their service is "infinite compound interest". I can buy more power as soon as I'm paid for a block.

As others have said, cooler = faster.  The back of the power regulator area is a good place to keep things cool also.

Blow more air on the board itself, especially the backside.

with the hardware in hand if any sha coin becomes more profitable than btc you can switch your miners to the new coin

and you are in control

For information, I think buying hashpower on https://www.cex.io is cheaper (and more convenient! you don't have to pay for electricity, not handle the noise or anything) than buying a Chili.
And also easier to sell if you want to...
(32GH/s = 4.16 BTC at the current price (0.13 BTC/GH/s), ie $748 at the current Bitstamp exchange rate ($179.80))

My referral link if you want to: https://cex.io/r/0/crazydownloaded/0/ (I'd get 1 GH/s if you deposit >=1 BTC)
One last thing. It appears GH are selling for .13 BTC or $23.27 per GH/s. I am very happy with the boards form MRTeal and ChipGeek but actually have some I am planning to sell. I am willing to sell 10 that I have in hand and include the pre-installed Twin Turbo VGA cooler and PCI bracket for my cost (about 4.4BTC).

If anyone will pay over the 4.4 BTC I will donate 100% of the profit back to MrTeal and ChipGeek as a thank you for their hard work. PM me or make offer on this thread.

Actually, here is what the site says...

"How can a GH/s be owned forever considering electricity costs and other fees?

Maintenance fees will be set per GH/s to electricity costs and datacenter fees. It may be adjusted according to the BTC/USD exchange rate because our fees are in fixed USD. If the maintenance fees exceed your mining income, GH/s be sold at current market price to cover fees. CEX.IO MUST buy back sold hashing power at market price to close accounts. At anytime you always have the option to request GHS withdrawal as hardware devices, just contact support to negotiate shipping details."

So it looks like the key unknown variables are... What are the electricity costs? What are the datacenter fees? Finally, I wonder if the way this exchange is set up would be in compliance with FINCEN and SEC regulations that have recently caused platforms to close our stop serving US customers.

I have to say that I am a big fan of bitfury. Really curious to know more about who is behind this service, and what the actual costs are.

Very interresting Smiley The maintenance fee is 0 for the moment: "Maintenance fee: 0.00 BTC (May be changed in the future)" (below the trading chart)

What do they charge for electricity and maintenance fees?

Nothing yet, to my knowledge (I discovered this service today):
"1 GHS = 1 GH/s delivered INSTANTLY. All mining power is handled by GHash.IO (0% pool fee). Maintenance fee: 0.00 BTC (May be changed in the future)"

In fact they merge-mine NMC to cover their pool fees, but nothing is said about electricity (I doubt NMC covers electricity). Maybe it's like a "perpetual contract" or something.
