Manchester United needs to part ways with ETH whether he delivers the FA cup trophy or not. Today's match just confirmed that he's no the right man for the job, how can united after being ahead by 3 goals, draw to a championship side. As expected ETH did use the injured players as excuse for the performance but we all know that his tactical changes spoilt the game and they're lucky to have scaled through to the final and they'll be banking on luck against City because they're far from their best.
I think it will take a long time for Man United to shine like before. However, this can all be achieved as long as they are willing to do :
- Fire Ten Hag, and sign a coach who really has the capability to handle Man United.
- Released the majority of their players, except for Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Rasmus Hojlund, and several of their young players who have good potential.
- Glazer does not interfere too much in the transfer window.
Currently Man United has lost their winning mentality and they look inconsistent in playing their football rhythm. Even against a team like Coventry, they have to struggle hard. What I see is that they have already lost the characteristics of Man United in the old era. Their side position really can't work effectively. Instead of frequently delivering the crosses, the two wingers even tended to make solo penetrations and forcing a lucky shot. They are reluctant to make a pass although some of his teammates had better positions to take shots. I don't know if this is because their characters are like that or if it is Ten Hag's strategy.
