This was kind of crazy week so far with some hilarious stuff happening on the field. I didn't see any of the high priced teams having any chance of winning, but with the Dolphins and Redskins, there were actually two teams winning with odds of around 5,0. While teams can always lay an egg on the road, I was especially surprised with the Panthers losing at home to the Redskins with their rookie QB's first road game. Carolina gave a huge fight with the Saints the other week (and should have won that) and the next week they are unable to get anything going for three quarters against a much inferior opponent at home. Just shows what important role motivation plays and how hung over you can be after a huge game going back to reality afterwards.
Yeah, I kicked Carolinas D to the curb a few weeks back as it was plain they had lost their drive to win and that Saints game was their last gasp effort that would make or break their season.
Bengals were probably pumped with the return of the Red Rifle, after the experiment with Finley didn't work out. They already showed some progress in the last weeks, keeping the scores close. And Vegas had other things in plan. I refrained from a pre-match bet and jumped live on the Jets, eating some losses with a hedge loss in 3rd Quarter. Will be interesting to see, if it's now mission accomplished for the Bengals or if they will keep on trying to win and probably losing out on the frist draft pick to the Giants.
Dalton is well liked in the organization so its no surprise the team rose to the occasion it was pretty much just dependent on which andy showed up that day and as you stated it was the red Rocket version. I would say this is his last year for sure, head coach got the axe last year IIRC.
Dolphins had some nice trick-play, where the Punter threw to the kicker for a TD. Fitzpatrick has now thrown TD's against the Eagles for seven different teams.
I've always liked Fitzpatrick, he has always been on substandard teams and made some "Magic" happen. when he was on Buffalo and they won their first 5 games I thought they were contenders but then that ship tanked like the titanic. i can't remember why but it did kind of send him to the backup purgatory. Its a similar thing as to what happened with Foles, the jets mismanaged him so bad from the draft he never recovered and it was the Viking IIRC that pulled him so he wouldn't break Peyton Mannings TD record. That will pull the wind right out of your sails.
The Jaguars had six former UDFA's in their defensive starting line-up, including the whole secondary. No wonder, Tampa had no problems scoring.
I wasn't aware, injuries?
Chargers with some brainfairt resultin in a PI call on kind of a Hail Mary with 9sec left, but well, the Chargers do what the Chargers do. Looks like Rivers is done at LA.
That game was really weird. Denver has had horrible play calling all year but the chargers play calling was atrocious as well and thats not usually an issue. It looks like they were trying to force Gordon in for the showcase plays and ecklers plays were very obvious. Game script was really what lost them that game even though Rivers looks ugly. I wonder if they are thinking of trading gordon in the off season or if they are just trying to justify his Payday? On the opposite side it has looked all year like they have been doing that for Freeman at the expense of Lindsy. I cringe every time they run Lindsy up the gut into a stacked box and then they try to run Freeman to the outside. They have their roles reversed and once in a while you can call that being smart but to do it all game long every game is just plain retarded and anyone that has watched the season can plainly see it.
Although this sounds logical I just feel thats its a trap and I'd go with the ML, I think the refs have been interfering with too many games this yeah at key moments and it has been adjusting scores towards closer games.
Not this time, but with American Sports you are of course always in the hands of some higher power interfering with your bets. Wasn't impressed with the Chiefs though, the Raiders were just plain atrocious. The running game was ok-ish, since the KC run defense is terrible, but they couldn't do anything through the air. Carrs numbers (20/30, 222yds, 1 TD, 2 iNT) don't look THAT bad actually, but a) most of it was during garbage time and b) they had lots of YAC.
Yeah, I was off on that one I think the NFL has been reading my posts!
Actually it looked like the opposite with the refs destroying any chance the raiders had which all in all has been a raiders curse for the last few decades.
