Ah, I haven't updated cpuminer for 10.6 support yet, sorry about that, I'll get it into the next update! I update the miners fairly regularly, except poclbm which I'm probably going to drop for being python and the fact it's kernel is used by other miners anyway. When they launch successfully, one of the first lines of the log will be something like 'bfgminer 3.1.1 started'.

Thanks... after finding the --version parameter, it looks like the version you included, 2.2.2 is a bit behind.  The last version of CPUMiner from Pooler is 2.3.1 with quite a few new important features such as support for Stratum servers.  Gonna run with this version from command line for now.

-bash: /Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/apiaccess: No such file or directory

That must mean you don't have the latest version in your Applications folder and named MacMiner.app - that's pretty high up on the list for me to fix but for now it needs to be both of those things!

Trying to get both BTC(BFG Miner) and LTC(CPU Miner) mining going on my own farm of boxes and some family members' boxes, but I'm encountering an issue on the In Laws' Mac Mini.  BFG Miner is fine, but CPU Miner is getting this:

I thought this is because they are running OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard which has an outdated libcurl, but the screenshot shows it's failing to load the library in MacMiner.app's Resources.  Is there any way to fix this short of upgrading their box to Lion?

Update: Still having the same problem, but have another question...

What versions of the various Miners are included in MacMiner?  I don't see any listing of their individual version numbers, either in the Resources, checking the individual commandline miner meta data, nor in the About screens or in the release notes for MacMiner.  For instance, are you using the latest 64bit 2.3.1 release of Pooler's CPUMiner?  Can't tell from just the minerd executable.

Thanks again!

Is that copied and pasted? It just says 'Does not exist'? I've never seen that one!

it is the FPGA/ASIC window not showing temps, as when running via terminal it shows all the information as normal.

I've got a user who's been emailing with a BFL FPGA which is showing the temperatures for 10.7 using the latest version, I don't suppose you could run

/Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/apiaccess devs

in terminal after starting FPGA/ASIC miner window of the app, and post what it says for me here?

That's good to hear! Thanks for the report. I've had it running about 30hrs and it's crept up to and is hovering around 200MB RAM so I'm going to take the opportunity to call it the new stable version, it's been a long time coming! I'll release a new beta version in a few days too.

started 1317.

Usuing FPGA/ASIC miner with a USB ASICMiner

CPU usage: max I've seen is 4%
usually around 1% and sometimes less than 0.01%

Real Memory around 60mb VM 2.5GB

looks like the major issues may have been fixed, I'll let it run for the day and see how it goes.

and no speed in that window for dock either.

My BFL preorder is 3 weeks down the pre-order list so the temperature reading should get more reliable soon, unfortunately for the moment I'm not sure what's caused that but I'll have another root around.

I've added a dock icon for FPGA/ASIC Miner window now, and made big memory improvements, but it might be best to keep running at the command line for now if you need temps!

I'm using TripleMining

and use minerstatus (android) to tell me when my hash rate drops.

Thanks, I'll try them both out!

Temperature and Dock speed is still not showing, New error:

 [2013-06-29 21:15:36] JSON-RPC decode failed: [
   20,
   "_stratum_mining_subscribe() takes exactly 1 positional argument (3 given)",
   "Traceback (most recent call last):\n  File \"/opt/eloipool/stratumserver.py\", line 91, in found_terminator\n    rv = getattr(self, funcname)(*rpc['params'])\nTypeError: _stratum_mining_subscribe() takes exactly 1 positional argument (3 given)\n"
]
Can I just check that it's the FGPA/ASIC window not showing temps? Also, is the version you're using called MacMiner.app and in your Application folder? I'm not sure what's going on there, it shouldn't have changed. That error is a problem with the eloipool setup and I'll get that fixed in the next update. The dock reading should show up for CG/BFG/CPU Miners after you open preferences right now.

Thanks again for the report, which pool are you using? I'll give it a shot to see if I get the same messages and CPU usage. I get 0.2-2% so I'm not sure what's causing that for you. The memory issue should be fixed though :/

I'll change the way the preference works for the dock icon to avoid that problem! Seems it's not working till a pref is set right now.

The best way to run without the MacMiner GUI is the command line way in the top post, run

/Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/bfgminer/bin/bfgminer -h

In terminal and it'll tell you how it works! You'll be able to get feedback on how it's working/accepted shares that way.

Otherwise, just check with your pool that it is still mining if you've started it with MacMiner.

got the latest update..

using 100% cpu, range from 50%-155%  core2duo mobile 2.2ghz

maybe the error messages are part of it?

for now I'm going to leave my miner running without macminer open.

BFG miner using 5mb ram, and 0.1% cpu

dock icon hash rate didn't show up till I clicked preferences..  I didn't touch the check box for it though.

OK, bfgminer dock display and temperatures should be fixed now and I'm a bit more confident in the memory use of this version, if all goes well I'll call it stable 1.4!

Thanks again for the reports guys! There's a new version now which should reduce memory usage further, fix the temperature and dock readings - if the dock reading still doesn't show please toggle it off and on again in prefs, at the very least that much should work!

Still no dock speed and still no temperature reading

seems to run better.

it still ends up getting paused, but it will un pause itself. noticing a small drop in mh/s on the 15min average.

will have to check the 24hr average, looks like it'll stay up for 24hrs this time.

after that I might run it then quit the macminer but let bfg or fpga/asic run in the background.
