I'm posting here as there still isn't really a very centralized "mastercointalk" location.

I'm looking to Crowdfund my new endevour:

Counterfiet Proof (nearly anyway) physical KeyVaults. For long term secure cold storage of bitcoin keys, mastercoin keys, onename.io/namecoin keys.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6173252

And idea I was thinking about was to sell some portion of the company (or coupons exchangeable for company shares) probably 10-20%, via the Mastercoin Protocol a-la MaidSafe. The money I would raise, I would then put into building the company.

Any ideas I should be keeping in mind? Any suggestions?

maybe like with Kickstarter, as a 'reward' for buying x amount of shares you can get one of these cool little dongle things Smiley

Guys,
Are there any updates available? Dev update?

Also can anyone update me with the status of listing on central exchanges? Since Lisa left Mastercoin I don't know who can help me with this information.
I think it's important to get listed on another exchange and create volume.

MetaDex  is almost done.

I've also wondered why there is only 1 msc exchange.  The more the merrier.

Exchanges can implement the ff

Bitcoin is new, makes sense to hodl.
I remember seeing the poloniex guy asking around in the previous thread or somewhere of how to add msc, but no one cared so he did not added it, maybe it's time to reach out.

fyi we are on a new ranking site

http://www.coingecko.com/

cool methodology - bummer they are using the FB foundation page rather then the group which has way more people, but that would be fixed when we get a new website

or i might try to wrestle with our canned web tempalte to insert an FB, Twitter, reddit button on the side bar

We should ask them to tweak some of the info here:

http://www.coingecko.com/coins/mastercoin

E.g. I'm not sure the spec is the best of our repositories to use, and mymastercoins.com linked as the block explorer isn't actually our go to block explorer (no offence Alvin!).

Hi guys, I just noticed that CoinGecko is mentioned here a few weeks back. I'm the co-founder of CoinGecko. Do we need to tweak any info on the Mastercoin info page here? http://www.coingecko.com/coins/mastercoin

Feel free to PM me or write on our thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-coingeckocom-360-degree-cryptocurrency-valuation-and-ranking-561516) and I will be happy to make the changes. Thanks

Staying true to his style, during the question and answer round today Byrne revealed that he had plans for potentially listing his company on “a block chain kind of a stock exchange.”

Watching his words, he said: “I would already be interested in issuing a bond or something, so we could be the first to list this sort of security.”

He revealed that Overstock was in the early stages of looking at the legal propriety of dual listing on NASDAQ and another stock exchange. While they have not ironed out any concrete plans, he said:

Interesting. Mastercoin perhaps  Smiley
No, Nxt.

If he chose to do this, in Mastercoin or Nxt or whatever, it would be huge for the bitcoin community. Patrick Byrne is  really smart guy and the power he has, as a CEO of such a big company he has lots of control.
Do not underestimate the power of the dark side.
Regulators are not exactly powerless either.

the developers are working on other things.
Good to hear.  I am glad they are all working on other things.  However, NXT has developed a very large community which includes at least three old Mastercoin Protocol programmers and a very active forum with hundreds of thousands of inputs.  Mastercoin has fewer than 200 posts and those are of very low quality content.  Let's face it, the programmers can work all day on the engine, but the marketing and front end guys have already lost the war.  No matter what gets developed from here, it is going to be nearly impossible to attract further interest through the awful face of Master Protocol.  Maybe we need the NXT guy to defect and come here for a while.

Or listing on any other exchange. Thats all we need.
We need volume and this requires listing on more exchanges like BTer, Poliniex.

'volume' is only a valid reason for price drops in pump and dump schemes.  We don't need more exchanges. The exchange we have works very well indeed.  What we need is more confidence in the technology.  One of the ways confidence is promoted is by good vigorous debate and conversation.  Since the Master Protocol forum is such garbage, there is no conversation whatever.  That explains the price decline.  Not the lack of a trading platform.

No problem here with mastercoin sites.
You didn't notice a lack of participation?

Can't access mastercointalk.org, masterchest.info or masterchain.info as of now.

I can access all of them.
Anyone else having these problems?

I can access mastercointalk.org masterchest and masterchain now.   (must be a temporary DNS hiccup  )

Rational Exuberance

As I already said, this can't be an user error, since there is no typo and even after multiple resend I received nothing at all (nothing in inbox, nothing in spam, nothing elsewhere).

prophetx contacted me via e-mail and I replied, asking for manual activation which hasn't happened yet.

Wouldn't it be the simplest solution just to deactivate e-mail verification? I don't think that spam will be such a huge problem.

ya.ya.yo!

We actually get a fairly painful amount of spam, even with captchas and email verification. Definitely don't want to do anything to make that problem worse!
