Amanda Nunes can fight a amateur men bantamweight, but there is no way she is going to win against legit pro bantamweight men Tongue.
What makes you think that precisely? I think the opposite, she's able to easily beat many professional bantamweight men IMO, in such small categories KO are less common, so strength power is less important.
What makes me thing so, heard similar arguments when Ronda Rousey was dominating and some experts went on to say that she can even defeat Floyd Mayweather in boxing and other bantamweight men  Cheesy. Hyping a fighter is not bad but there must be some truth to the arguement when you are facing a professional MMA fighter you might think that she can knock them out but these fighters are not having their hands tied behind the back to simply come forward and present their jaw so that they can knock them out Tongue.

Amanda Nunes can knockout you and me who are not training for a fight but you cannot say the same against professional men fighters.
LOL  Cheesy I have more an HW format than a Bantamweight one in reality, so I'm not sure she could knock out me with her small fists so easily, but I'm 100% sure she would be able to submit me in few minutes actually, and I would love that.  Grin
Dana White likes to surprise people and to create buzz, I'm pretty sure he will one day organize an intergender fight in some country.

No bets made yet.

Save your money for 2 weeks and place bets on main event of UFC 260: Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 Grin Volkanovski vs Ortega, O'Malley vs Almeida. That is already 3 juicy bets to be placed. You can get good money on Luque vs Woodley also. Woodley is on a series of 3 losses and will go all-in this fight or probably be fired if he losses.

I think somebody should interview Matt Serra and Ray Luongo and ask what they think about Sterling’s shenanigans.  And how is the UFC supposed to promote the new BW champ.  Will he have a world tour and carry the belt around?  Lolol. Cheesy

Anyway..  My leans for UFC Vegas 21 are Semelsberger, Casey, Nicolau, Tucker and Cirkunov.  No bets made yet.

Must listen and watch Aljamain Sterling post fight interview with MMA Fighting Damon Martin.
I know guy got a knee in the head but he is now acting like a champion and he said that fight was even except in last round, and he even say that he still feels some presure in his head  Smiley

This is called knee to the head effect  Grin More time since the fight passes, more champion Sterling feels. In few weeks he will say that he was winning that fight, fought with a high temperature, had injuries and was not fighting in full strength, when Petr Yan cheap shot him.

Don't know if anyone has posted this (if so, please let me know), the UFC released the bloodbath that was Zhang Weili vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk for free on YT.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RkjFCMiA00

What a fight, what a bump on Joanna's forehead. Rose finished Joanna and that was something unexpected and was the first one to do so, and she did a great job defending the title, but Weili imho completely outclassed Joanna. Not that she didn't have her say in the fight, but did Weili prove a point with this fight. It's hard to tell what was more impressive, the Andrade TKO or the Joanna decision. I don't know if they have anything planned for her at the moment  Huh

And here is Petr Yan post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani:

Can't wait for them to fight again and UFC will surely make a lot of money from this.

glad they asked Yan the right question. it's obvious sterling really can make it to oscar. mma fighters get hit all the time to the head but with just this soft knee, he acted like he wanted the belt without a fight. he is going to really bring this shame to life. he acted worse when someone from his corner says its an intentional because the ref says he's down when the knee was thrown.

Also, for Amanda Nunes, I reckon she should challenge the men in bantamweight or featherweight for an intergender championship hehehehehe.
Not a really good idea in my opinion, I mean I believe in equality and all but there should be a limit to that. I don't watch that much MMA or UFC so I might be wrong, has this kind of bout happened before because I believe that physically speaking, no matter how strong a women is, they can't fight a men that has the same strength as them.

I believe that was a joke. There is no commission that would allow such a fight to happen. And this should not be confused with the intergender matches that are taking place in grappling (for instance, Gabi Garcia vs Craig Jones) as it is a different type of combat, the UFC is governed by a different set of rules and, maybe stricter commissions that just would not allow such a thing to happen.

No honor.

Well, Sterling has two options that evening. Stand up, fight bank and lose by unanimous decision or TKO. This could get him some respect, but not for a long time. Soon he will be just a "line" in Petrs statistics of title defense. Because who remember losers? Or he could fake his pain and not being ready to continue, and get the belt. Some might call that tactics and only way to hold the belt. I call this being dishonored person. He will lose that belt in next fight, so far let him celebrate his pity victory.

That fight reminds me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zW2zBcNypk this. Mikhail Gazaev (beard guy, who got a soccer kick) call this tactics, I call this ass sitting rat.

Here’s my take, sure Yan deserves the disqualification..  But Aljo acting like he’s the real champ and has the shots to pick his next match just cos the belt fell right on his lap?  Lawl.  That’s embarassing.

Any, just couple of vids to watch if you have some spare time.

Israel Adesanya left foot and ankle are screwed after fight with Blachowicz and he could face up to six months medical suspensions and Jan Blachowicz is suspended only for 30 days!
That's a really bad news for him and for his sponsors including Stake, if he can't come back quickly after his first loss, it will be harder for him to keep his self-confidence and his motivation.

Is uncle Dana promoting Belal more than Leon hehehe. I reckon Dana does not like Leon Edwards because he is similar to Tyron Woodley. They are very selective on their next opponent.

It is possible that uncle Dana will promote the opponents of Leon Edwards, i always thought he was avoided by the top brass for a long time as he is on a eight fight winning streak yet he is not able to fight for the belt as he is getting skipped one way or the other and last year he was infected with covid and he had its complications and lost a year.

And no doubt if the UFC wants to bring in Khabib they can flash a ton of money in front of him and give him a offer he can not refuse.
Even if he said he will never fight again due to his father dying and all, but we all know, a year down the road if he is poor asf and living in a run down apartment after spending all of his past earnings on those fights, he will take the deal and do it.
Many actors in hollywood have been in this situation numerous times and they all take on the agreement to do that "One more time!" type contract so to be able to pay their bills and live comfortably.
We have seen many in the sporting field and in the movie industry who made millions and then end up loosing everything, there is a major difference in life style by Khabib Nurmagomedov, he is still driving his old Toyota even after making millions in the fight game and he is not flashy like the others who saw millions for the first time and he does not drink or party like Mike Tyson. He is doing many charity works and that needs money but he is a smart investor as well.
Another aspect is that Khabib Nurmagomedov has many business ventures in his home country which includes Eagle Mobile (mobile operator), Eagle Fighting Championship (MMA promotion) and collaborating with Dana White which means any potential fighter will start with the promotion and then get the chance to fight in the UFC and another one is Khabib Gym (planning to operate in multiple countries a slight delay due to pandemic).
So expect Khabib Nurmagomedov to be back if he sees a valid competition and he will not return for the money.
Okay then. Respect to Khabib if he doesn't come back into the octagon even if so much money or the sponsors would want him to return so they can cash in on his legacy.

On another note,
I was wondering why Dana was suddenly talking about their sponsorship with monster energy drink in the post interviews.
This was the reason why it all seems to do with Hans Molenkamp who talked to Domink Cruz (I noticed he was talking about monster too and didn't know why at the time Undecided)

but it seems Israel doesn't like the guy either due to a contract with monster and these fighters.

Jan mentioned that Israel's kicks were harder than he anticipated but Israel probably learned during that fight that Jan's or most of HW's built are different.

Just no! Come on Grin She could retire in peace now. No one will question her legacy.

~
I trust that Adesanya sought revenge, many said that I would not hold even 1 Round and stayed until the end, this must also be recognized.
I'm but is that Adesanya's own statement? If so, I don't think it's that many given how many bookies placed him as the favorite. That's probably the first time he played some kind of a victim card.

In comparison with best acting performance of the night Sterling who was suspended only for 60 days after that knee in his head, that is much less than Adesanya.
Is something wrong here?  Smiley

Everyone is still talking about this past event but we must move on to next UFC 187 starting in few days with Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhamad main event.

Strange that no one mentioned here, that Conor McGregor has sold his stakes in Proper Twelwe and became even more rich Smiley
I noticed it's advertisements during this 259 inbetween fights as the official sponsor of the UFC.
So I just knew at this point McGregor is getting paid even though he was defeated in his last fight.
He has always been the face for the EA sports video game on the last editions(except for the very 1st one) if I am not mistaken so he is getting paid either way if he wins or loses.

Was watching a youtube clip of him watching a recent UFC match and commented on the knock out of the match saying,
"I can do that no problem! Hell yahhh!"
Made me laugh at him even more but hey, he is getting paid by promotions and signing deals with Dana so he doesn't really care at this point.
Just like those who lose, the bottom line is getting paid.

And no doubt if the UFC wants to bring in Khabib they can flash a ton of money in front of him and give him a offer he can not refuse.

As we all would if put in that similar situation. Even if pride dictates what you have to say now, it all comes down being on the brink of starvation and being homeless to doing that one more appearance which still keeps them being in the game. Wink
