@bbc.reporter who the heck are those guys  Grin I can only recognize Cowboy.

Just seen the cards. So the showtime Pettis is fighting again and currently favored by bookies. Aldo too. It's nice to see two former champs fighting on the same card. I'm skipping these two but I'll check their fights.

Looks like this is Neal's fight to lose. He probably just needs one punch to connect to Thompson's glass chin or just one take down to pummel him.

Another bout was cancelled:  Rick Glenn vs Carlton Minus.  Not really sure what the reason was but it's most likely another positive covid test.  I heard Karl Roberson might pull out too.  Reason unknown...  I think the UFC should just stay at Fight Island for the majority of events next year.  IMHO.
I told you this would happen didn't I  Smiley
This is however much better situation than to have smaller fight card than usual and shorter event.
Nobody likes canceled events and even more when good fighters are dropping out, but I read that UFC is searching for someone to replace them on short notice.

^  But against Marlon Vera, dunno..  Seems like a huge jump in competition for Vera.  I was hoping everybody would be backing Vera after winning vs the much hyped Sean O'Malley.  The line for Aldo is still juiced at 1.68.

This should be full early card for UFC Fight Night 183, and please correct me if I am made any mistake.
This is 15 early fights but I am almost sure that because of stupid covid tests someone will drop out in next few days.

Stephen Thompson - Geoff Neal
Jose Aldo - Marlon Vera
Kalinn Williams - Michel Pereira
Marlon Moraes - Rob Font
Marcin Tybura - Greg Hardy
Taila Santos - Gillian Robertson
Anthony Pettis - Alex Morono
Belal Muhammad - Dhiego Lima
Pannie Kianzad - Sijara Eubanks
Karl Roberson - Dalcha Lungiambula
Deron Winn - Antonio Arroyo
Drako Rodriguez - Aiemann Zahabi
Tafon Nchukwi - Jamie Pickett
Cody Durden - Jimmy Flick
Rick Glenn - Carlton Minus

Still early for me to make any predictions but I think it's finally time for Jose Aldo to retire and this event is still a must watch for any mma fan.
Looking early bet on Kalinn 'Khaos' Williams looks nice and he is slight underdog now at bookies.

Yup.  Belal Muhamad vs Dhiego Lima is out.  Cheesy

Jose Aldo always looks interesting to watch. How old is he now? 34, but his face looks more old. Lets see if he could compete on same level with vicious low kicks and knees, or we will se only his shadow. He is in 3 lose streak. If he losses, he would probably be fired.
Jose Aldo is still young if you look at his age but he had many wars and your body can only take so much until it fades away and that is what we are seeing in his performance, he always had a lack of stamina throughout his career as he starts really well and then fades out in the later rounds but in the past he used to stand his ground but now he is struggling and he is not throwing his trademark low kicks .

^  ^  Rofl.  Cheesy

There's gonna be 15, maybe 16 fights this weekend.  The roster at Wikipedia is incomplete...  Will post the complete roster later.

Who you guys got?  At first glance I like Thompson at 1.95, Williams 2.05, Tybura at 2 and Flick at 1.67.  And there's a couple of parlayable spots in there.  Gambooool.

Similar to how Anderson Silva has never recovered after his first loss to Chris Weidman, I reckon we are also witnessing it with El Cucuy. He might not be the same person.

True. I think he has not fully retired from alleging uncharacteristic behavior such as severe paranoia, not sleeping for days, tearing apart their home fireplace, and believing that a tracking chip was inserted into his leg during reconstructive knee surgery. Can a person recover from such shit in 1 month? I think he just lied to doctors or sports commission and this madness is still in head, interfering him to fight as he used to.

Charles Oliveira surprised me by completely dominating Tony Ferguson, i thought he could have stopped Tony Ferguson in the first round if there was a few seconds more as the armbar was nasty.

I see no fire in Tony Ferguson eyes in his last two fights. Imo, he seems to fight like he is forced somehow to do it. Maybe by financial situation, maybe because he is tired to be not fighting, maybe he has not fully mentally recovered yet.

Tony was loaded to fight back in 2018, during first cancelation of fight against Khabib. Now the sparkles went out. And btw, by looking how he sucked at wrestling against Oliveira and that armbar, I remember how he told Khabibs wrestling is nothing. Khabib would have submitted him in first two rounds.

^  Just shows that 6 months rest isn't enough after that massive beating he took from Gaethje.  He should've stayed away from the game for at least a year imho.

And how about that Fiziev match vs Moicano.  I think we'll be seeing Fiziev at LW top 10 next year.
Khabib predicted the future of Tony Ferguson and he said he will be loosing when he fights again and he specifically said that Tony is a stupid guy as he is not smart enough and it was evident with the Gaethje fight when he unnecessarily cut weight even when the fight was called off and then returning again withing a short period again and then getting defeating again Grin.

Another factor is age might be catching up with Tony Ferguson as he is 36 years and his body might not be recovering like before and the amount of damage he accumulated throughout his career might be the issue.

If there was a fight against Khabib i will not pick Tony as i knew there is no way Tony is able to defend that but expected some slick submission attempts from the ground and against Olivera we saw one attempt but he could not lock the hold completely and against Khabib there is no way he could do when heavy punches are thrown in the ground.

I think he might have just been holding on for the bell which he new was coming so he had about 8 seconds to bare it. Had that not been coming I'm sure he would have tapped... or his arm snapped. One or the other  Cheesy.
I thought his hand was compromised after that arm bar attempt as he did not throw anything with that left hand, the ego of Tony is big that he will not tap and if there was enough time he would have damaged his hand completely.

UFC 265 Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno

Was an insane main event both fighters have done their all, and I was really surprised at Moreno holding on and both fighters were really equal and in my opinion, if it wasn't for the deduct points on Figueiredo, He might have won this fight but still, I think both men are winners for an amazing performance, and let's move on to the next match.

UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal

UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada
December 19, 2020

MAIN CARD

Stephen Thompson   vs.   Geoff Neal
José Aldo   vs.   Marlon Vera
Michel Pereira   vs.   Khaos Williams
Marlon Moraes   vs.   Rob Font
Marcin Tybura   vs.   Greg Hardy
Anthony Pettis   vs.   Alex Morono

This is the one I'm looking forward to the most. Looks like Michel Pereira has been bumped up to the main card from the preliminaries which is good news as he always puts on a great show. Can't believe he was on the undercard especially as he won performance of the night in his last fight in September. Even if he's not the best fighter he always entertains. I wonder if he's only been bumped because the Leon Edwards V Khamzat Chimaev fight got called off.

Charles Oliveira surprised me by completely dominating Tony Ferguson, i thought he could have stopped Tony Ferguson in the first round if there was a few seconds more as the armbar was nasty.
Super nasty to be honest, the armbar seems so perfect. That's why I'm wondering how did Ferguson survived it, maybe because of pride? Well, Ferguson is the type of guy blah blah blah jk Grin.

@eaLiTy. However, after El Cucuy's painful loss in the fight vs. Justin Gaethje, this is giving the fans with more questions in his confidence and his skill. He was not only defeated, he was broken by Justin for the first time in his career.
After the fight the intuitions you had were on spot and i was surprised to see Charles Oliveira completely dominating Tony Ferguson on the feet and on the ground and the ease in which he was able to secure the take downs i wonder what Khabib would have done to Tony and Khabib predicted this when he was interviewed and he said Tony will loose again as the amount of damage he took in the fight against Justin is too much and that is exactly what happened as the fight was completely dominated by Charles Oliveira.

But seriously, I feel bad that he lost. He is getting farther from Khabib (if he ever return) if the lose streak continues. Hmm, is it the right time for him to retire or at least try Bellator? What do you guys think?

I was surprised with Brandon Moreno and if he could do a bit more on the last round he could have won the fight, his left hand was totally busted and he could not even throw a punch in the last round and there was a point deducted and hence it ended up as a draw if not Deiveson Figueiredo would have won the decision.
