^  I didn’t watch the PPV live cos I didn’t want to pay for it.  Lol.  And it’s still locked in Fight Pass.  Had to wait to download the vid from somewhere not exactly legal.
I have a subscription and hence i am able to watch the fights live because i am wagging bets in other sports as well and i am spending more time on live sports, earlier i used to download files but not anymore as you can watching the fights in youtube before they take them down.

Anyway, I feel like Burns got adrenaline pumping because of a good first round and abandoned his game plan then tried to go for the finish til he gassed out.  Middle of the second round he looked a bit tired.
I am not sure whether it is adrenaline dump or the affects of COVID, Usman was tagged really bad in the first round but he was able to come back and showed his class, Burns tried to take him down after gassing out and he was able to defend it and the entire fight was basically a stand up battle.

Maycee Barber looked like she was taking it easy the first two rounds before fighting like ‘Maycee Barber’ at the third which she won.  Her team should’ve warmed her real good before the fight.
The game plan of Maycee Barber was the reason for her defeat and i could have gone with rounds betting rather than going for Barber to win.

Kamaru Usman made 13th consecutive wins in UFC welterweight category with 18 total wins and he is on the road to Hall of Fame like Georges St-Pierre previously.
Jon Jones sits on top of all the records in the UFC and that is the benchmark every fighter will be looking to accomplish and Kamaru Usman has the potential to be in that position as he does not see any challengers that could defeat him.

Here is the results

Source: Wiki

Kelvin Gastelum outclassed Ian Heinisch even though there were spots in the fight where Ian Heinisch landed great punches and kicks but gassed out pretty fast.

I would like to see Alexa Grasso and Maycee Barber again for a 5 round fight, Alexa Grasso surprised me with her ground skills as she is known for her boxing but improved a lot and i picked Maycee Barber to win and she showed her spirit in the third round as she was throwing hard but was too late.

And it’s another Pitolo disaster.  Looking good til he isn’t.

Edit:  And that Anthony Hernandez win.  Lol.  Who would’ve known.

So..  Yeah.  I guess I’m looking like a total idiot right now.  Rofl.  What a finish by Sandhagen.  And things just got pretty interesting at 135.  We got Petr Yan, Sterlng, Sandhagen and the return of Dillashaw.

That Dillashaw return is a hard sell with what went on with him imho.

Come on man I think not, I am not thinking that way we all have our own opinion here and what may happen in the fight, but in reality, we are not expecting Sandhagen to do something like that, it really blows my mind seeing Edgar to be KO'ed so quickly

And about Dillashaw after a 2-year suspension, I don't know if it's already 2 years about testing positive for EPO prior to his fight with Henry Cejudo I personally think that you are right it will be a hard sell for viewers, especially what he did back then if he really is clean to fight again and the length of that suspension may personally have affected his physical and mental condition now.

And Another thing Alexander Volkov did a great job with Overeem, He surely destroyed Overeem in round 2, Although I really like Alistair Overeem back then right now I think that he seems slower than before, and I don't know about everybody here Alistair Overeem seems to develop belly plop Grin
Alistair Overeem looked scary before USADA started testing the fighters and once they started testing everyone for performance enhancing drugs many fighters looked completely deflated and Overeem in one such fighter and with COVID protocol when most of the gyms were closed for months you should expect some belly for some of the fighters Cheesy. It is time he retires from UFC and if he really wants to compete he can perform in other organisation where the competition is not that high.

Right Overeem back then was a total monster but yes just like me I think Overeem did gain fat, but as an athlete, he should still maintain his figure to box a little making progress in training even though he inside the house and diet for his upcoming fight but I think the lockdown really hit him hard, and If he's not back in shape before his next fight I think he should rest and retire because I don't know what to say anymore he looks like wreck it ralph in my opinion.

Even i would like to see Usman and Masvidal 2 as he fought a short notice fight and i want that happen because there are not many challengers in the division.
Usman actually challenged Masvidal in post-fight interview. He also pointed out that Masvidal rejected previous negotiations prior to their first fight and only stepped in as replacement in order to have an excuse if he loses. Usman's not happy how he's been going about the "on short notice".

Didn't manage to get my predictions up, was still celebrating the Welsh win in rugby. However, the main card was fun to watch, and I was gutted for burns. After that first round I thought my early prediction was going to come in. Usman looked confused, and stunned by how quick Burns came out. Then, as per his corners instructions sat behind his jab, and then basically looked as comfortable as he ever did. Got to be one of the best jabs in UFC.

Hopefully, there's not too much of a divide between Usman, and burns, I'm sure Usman understands why Burns wanted the belt. Next big named event is Adensanya, which the card is looking like a very good card, as long as there's not too many drop outs.

Usman was much better than Burns, won bonus for performance of the night and I don't see that anyone can seriously challenge him from all current fighters, except if someone new face shows up.
Masvidal is now calling him out for the next fight and Usman is promising even better beating and putting him in a coffin.
Usman vs Masvidal? - I am taking Usman every time.

I was actually surprised that Burns would actually drop from a jab. Yeah it was a good/stiff jab but still....it's Burns! @7788bitcoin probably got it right about the effect of COVID. Perhaps he shouldn't have rushed it.

Usman vs. Masvidal 2. Make it happen Dana!
I know many friends who are into fitness and unfortunately they were infected and they cannot do anything they did earlier even though they are looking healthy even after months as they are getting tired pretty fast and the poster boy for UFC Khamzat Chimaev of last year is infected and he is finding it difficult to return because of his lung complications and his fight against Leon Edwards is once again cancelled.

Even i would like to see Usman and Masvidal 2 as he fought a short notice fight and i want that happen because there are not many challengers in the division.

I don’t think anybody who knows what their doing would lay those kind of odds to bet against you.  Usman is around 1.35 in all of the lines in most books I checked.  Lol.
I came back to the website to check my balance but I got notification that the taker had cancelled it and I only got a refund. I thought I already won Grin

~ but that 1 jab from Usman absolutely destroyed Burns chances

That was just masterclass from Usman and proves the point that he is levels above everyone else. Was a good first round by Burns and he'd have probably won it as well. Wobbled Usman close to 3 times but that 1 jab from Usman absolutely destroyed Burns chances. The endurance that Usman has is next level. I knew for sure that if it did go into 5 rounds. Usman had a huge advantage. The same way he did vs Masvidal. With time, slowly chip away from the opponent and get significant strikes advantage.

^  Burns had covid last year.  Pretty sure he’s ok now.  And here’s something to think about...  So it looks like Usman had a falling out with his gym Sanford MMA, where he used to train with Burns and other fighters like Vicente Luque.  Now Burns has all these fighters who used to train with Usman telling him what Usman’s weaknesses are.  So it’s gonna be a pretty interesting match up.
Gilbert Burns had a great first round and he did hurt Kamaru Usman but then we could literally see his energy dropping and the second round was a disaster and i do believe that Covid infection has something to do with the way your lungs perform, if not Burns is known to have a great stamina but what impressed me is the jab of Usman and how he improved his striking and then finish the fight with a jab and then finish him in the ground with strikes.

Did anyone heard about Bobby Green collapsing after weight-ins? That just reminded me about bodybuilders and how they are preparing for weight-ins in similar crazy way with kidney failures, dehydration and other issues.
We all saw many times that after weight-ins some guys gain so many weight before the fight and there is something seriously wrong with this system and things need to be changed.
Weight cutting is a major issue in MMA and majority of the fighters cut too much weight, some of the fighters fighting in 155 pound division walks around 180 to 190 pounds, Alexander Volkanovski who is the 145 pound champion at one point was weighing over 200 pounds, these fighters will cut huge amount of weight which is really dangerous and in my opinion there should be a standard and they need to adopt the One FC method as they can only fight in the walk around weight which means they will not allow you to dehydrate just loose too much weight and there is a ratio on how much you can hydrate back which is fair and healthy for the fighter.

UFC 258 is live and i am waiting for the main event, i am expecting an upset and Burns winning the belt  Grin.

Few hours left for start of UFC258 and it's crazy that I am already thinking about next UFC259 Jan Blachowicz vs Israel Adesanya Smiley
Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns are old training partners so I don't think there are many secrets between them and I would surely like to know who was better in their mutual sparring sparring session.
Bookies have set Usman as heavy favorite and I agree with that, as he is a beast with only one lost fight so far and that was back in 2013.
Burns is a great jiujitsu fighter and he was better than Woodley in last fight but Usman is on whole different level.
I see this fight going all five rounds and Usman win by decision.

Kevin Gastelum vs Ian Heinisch is so tricky for me to choose.
I never watched Heinisch fights so far and Gastelum is coming after 3 defeats from Hermanssonm,Till and Adesanya.
Odds are so low on Gastelum win that I am not willing to take a risk here.

Check the countdown and don't miss the start of this event:

UFC 258 is in the corner and my picks for this fight card is Chris Gutierrez, Philip Rowe, Miranda Maverick, Ricky Simon, Maycee Barber and Belal Muhammad. I wanted to bet on Burns to win the fight but now i am confused because Kamaru Usman is undefeated and he was able to overcome his obstacle and Burns had COVID and whether he is completely cured and whether it will affect his fighting is my doubt.

The thing with Bellator is they like to make match ups with one guy being waaay better than the other guy.
Bellator usually does that kind of match ups but we now another big time debut coming up, Anthony Rumble Johnson and Yoel Romero will be facing each other and making their debut in April. The only thing i do not like with them is moving the lighter division champion to face the upper division champion, in UFC we call that the double championship fight but in Bellator the difference in size in obvious.

And yup, I could see Burns winning here too.  Dunno..  Just a gut feeling.  Lol.  Maybe I just don’t like Usman that much cos he’s kinda boring.
Even i do think Burns has the ability to defeat Usman, Burns might win by submission and that is what i expect if they ever go to the ground.

Glover Teixeira will be back up for UFC 259 Jan Blachowicz vs Israel Adesanya in case some of this two fighters have any issues.
I am looking at recent Adesanya photos and he is not gaining much weight and muscles at all, and no plans for doing that, so Blachowicz will be much bigger fighter here.
Let's not forget that Adesanya switched from middleweight to light heavyweight category.

Bellator is kind of memed about where all the UFC rejects go to retire, but they can have some fun events from time to time. I'll be honest I don't particularly tune in all that often, as its usually quite the skill gap in fights, or the two fighters aren't of particularly good quality.

They have some great fighters including famous Cris Cyborg and Ryan Bader but I don't watch all the fights in Bellator.
Let's be honest and say that Dana White and UFC team did amazing thing last year with promotion and fight island, and not just for MMA but for all sport in general.

I'll be aiming to get my predictions up tomorrow for the Usman card. I feel a tad more confident looking at t his card being a little more familiar with the fighters. Controversially, I might see a Usman upset on the cards, what are peoples thoughts on this?
