I guess he is having a hardtime with that weight cut but there are people that if they have a weight cut they become more slick with their movements and there are people that even though they have an overweight body they can still move gracefully with it, I guess it will depend on their performance on the ring, but I can assure that there are fighters that are not so honest in this pre-fight press conference with their ability to do in the ring in gaining and declining of weight.
I don't think he will be more slick, but lets see the fight.

Look at this...tension is bulding up and they had to pull apart Adesanya and Paulo Costa during face-offs  Cheesy
What was Paulo Costa trying to do with that white belt? Maybe to upset Adesanya??  Cheesy

I can not say this with 100% certainty, but I think I heard some mma people saying that Costa is very good at cutting weight and then regaining it back after the weigh ins. It was said that he has great ability and that he can get back up to 7kg after the weigh in and easily loose up to 10kg if needed for the fight.
Maybe this is true, but he said it himself that he never did weight cut so much, unlike Adesanya who is having his own normal weight.
My point is that Costa power will be reduced, as we saw with other fighters react on drastic weight cuts, and nobody knows how that will affect him during the fight.
We should also keep in mind that event is happening in early morning Abu Dhabi time.

In other fight I am supporting Dominick Reyes, and I think he is one level up higher compared to Blachowicz and his girlfriend manager  Grin

Two fighters missed weight by 4 lbs.  I'm not really sure how that affects their performance cos it's missing the weight by a lot.  It could prolly mean they didn't really try hard to cut the weight and won't really affect them in the cage that much.  Dunno..

I am reading and watching everything related to this event like a real freak  Cheesy
UFC 253 is getting closer and now we can match pre-fight press conference from Abu Dhabi with Dana White, Israel Adesanya, Paulo Costa, Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz:
https://youtu.be/e3lOvFfuD7E

Paulo Costa did looked a bit weak because of his weight cut, and he said he never had lower weight before fight, and I think this will affect him for sure.

If Adesanya vs. Costa is hard to read, then how about the Polish Power vs, the Devastator? The co-main event is harder to predict for me. One good hit can end it in seconds of the first round. It would be nice if both of them have the chin to take each others punches. When two fighters with serious KO power collides, it's a treat if they can slug it out for three or more rounds.

The biggest advantage for Israel Adesanya is the range and with the striking ability and the slick movements it will be difficult for Paulo Costa to land any meaningful punch, we have seen that against Yoel Romero, as he was not able to land a knockout punch and he got really tired in the later rounds, i am expecting a really different fight but i expect both fighters would start slow and try to find their striking range initially and which fighter gets the range would have an upper hand and with Israel Adesanya being a superior striker it might be like a chess match.

Big muscles needs more energy and it will tire you up easily in the later rounds and it will be a test of will and stamina for Costa and for Adesanya he should be smart in his range of attacks.

Adesanya would become the style bender for nothing, you can really see from his fights he will surely feint his attacks that some opponent would react for a counter shots he is not throwing worthless strikes he is thinking before approaching the opponent that is so good about him, and Costa is mocking Adesanya's performance on Romero for running in the fight well that is his good side always on the safe side.

^  The more I look into it, the more I get kinda lost.  It's just one of those match ups that you just aren't sure what's gonna happen.  I decided to stay away...

For my bets I got two kinda risky bets on Knight at 2.41 and Klein at 1.91.  And two kinda safe bets on the over 2.5 for Reyes vs Blachowicz at 1.76 and a KKF, Riddel parlay at 1.88ish.

Who you guys got?

It is really hard to predict how Shane Young VS Ludovit Klein fight might end up due to the fact that Ludovit klein is just new to UFC and Shane Young after  Landwehr was tested positive on Covid-19 he needs to be replace by newcomer Klein,

In my opinion about Knight and Camur I think Knight has a huge potential winning this fight, I can say this because of his winning and the way he wins it than Camur Knightmare Knight has 1 lost and 8 win winning it with TKO/KO.

That is one huge reach advantage for Israel Adesanya, and I am expecting to see him fully using this when Costa runs on him like a wild bull. Adesanya likes to say that precision is more important than pure power and I agree with him.
This won't be easy fight for both of them, but I think Adesanya will win.

This is great! Israel Adesanya's fighting style is what I want to see but getting to look at his opponent Paulo Costa that is like a tank and the body that is a dose with supplements I think that Adesanya will surely be having a hard time with this guy, Costa is a hard-hitting brawler that could kick, you can imagine getting a rampaging hulk on the Ring but I think that Adesanya is very well equipped because of his fighting style and he got a huge range advantage.

Costa only had one 3 round fight in his professional career. All other fights ended in first and second rounds, while Adesanya had experience of long fights. As Costa looks a bit heavy, maybe it will be hard for him to breathe in last round. This might be the key for Adesanya to win.

That is what I think may happen, If Adesanya would not let Costa touch him for the reminder until round 3 or longer Adesanya can sure win this, Adesanya is one of the fighters that is accurate in his striking and able to used his opponents aggressiveness towards them and counter at the same time, Adesanya can sure fight a long round but Costa in the other hand looks exhausted in ending the fight against Yael Romero.

^  Yup..  He had like around 2.5 rounds in the tank and could still push to the fourth round vs Adesanya imo.  So yeah, safer bet for me is to go for the over.

Anyway I'm looking at Eubanks and also looking for another good favorite to parlay with Kai Kara France.  Maybe Reyes but his line is a bit wide.  It should be closer.

^  Yup exactly.  But as I think more about it, I could see it going over 2.5.  And it's one of the bouts that you don't really know what's gonna happen just like Whitaker vs Romero.  So as a safer bet, I'll go for the over 2.5 rounds.

Edit:  And Costa has good cardio for a guy his size.
I agree that it's one of the unpredictable fights and that's due to Costa's punching power.

His cardio is only good for three rounds if he contunues with his striking. Rewatch his fight with Romero and you can clearly see he already slowed down in round 2 and looked gassed out in round 3. I dont think that's something you want if you'te going to bet for over 2.5. Adesanya will pick him apart in the later rounds if he survives the early Costa onslaught.

If Costa will mix it up and stick to his ground game, then that's a different story. Based on the videos we've seen so far, that doesn't seem to be the case.

As for the upcoming Costa fight, it will be high paced fight most likely , ending in first 2 rounds. Costa will come out and start hard, that will surely create a lot of danger for Adesanya, but an opportunities too. If Costa connects one though, that will be the end I think.

If not only Adesanya will start his marathon around Costa. A person that is not familiar with this sport will say that they are in two different weight categories. Costa look like a light heavyweight and might need to cut a lot before the fight (according to his instagram he should not, but numbers will show). This might lead that he will be exhausted and his fuel might end in round 3+. The plan for Adesanya will be running for 2-3 or even loosing them in the cards, but they win over tired Costa via TKO (submission would be more likely, but he is not a master of it).

I just watched the replay of the fights and must say that it was really nice watching Covington controlling Woodley. It looked easy as if Woodley never showed up for the fight. He looked like that quite a lot lately, could be time to stop fighting, makes me think that his next fight will be extremely important for him, he will have to win if he plans on staying relevant.

After looking his fight against Jon Jones, Reyes is my favorite here and I think he has better skils and more professional approach compared to Blachowicz in every way.

^  Gut feeling, Costa.  The more I think about it, I don't know...  I'm pretty confident it could be over 2.5 rounds tho.

Is anyone also bothered with Dan's mustache?  Grin
Dan really knows how to break it down. I'm just amazed to listen how he reveal Costa's vulnerability like he is just a volume fighter who can knock but don't really make them unconcious while on the ground.

2.50 rounds is more than enough for Adesanya to measure his counter while Costa is busy. But then Costa could still be lucky to throw a hook like how he did to Romero.
