Ortega is an underdog because he fought last time in December 2018. However Zombie havent been in action since December 2019 also. Cant imagine any explanation why Ortega is an underdog.

I might say, that despite these two, other fights are just to fill the gap between previous event (which kinda boring from first sight) and Khabib vs Gaethji. Surprisingly Joaquin Buckley showed nice spinning kick last Sunday  Grin

lol sorry about that.

I was actually about to check the odds for UFC 254 only to find out there's still one more fight night. I checked the cards and kinda like the main events.

I'm definitely gonna watch more videos before finally picking who to bet on. I gotta admit I'm biased towards Ortega because I still remember how his brutal uppercut lifted Edgar's both feet off the floor. Maybe the Korean Zombie's ground game is better which gives him the edge.

^  You guys are so weird.  Now that I'm in the mood doing the roster and stuff you and toptort beat me to it.  It happened twice now.  Cheesy

Anyway, early leans before watching tape, research and checking the market, I like TKZ, Andrade and Gillian Roberston.

Edit:  Just checked the lines.  I'll prolly end up parlaying those.

FIGHT ISLAND 6 FREE FIGHTS

I like that both guys in the main event are entertaining when they fight. I just don't quite understand why Ortega is the underdog (at 2.39 from Bitsler) but it's probably good odds for me because I'm leaning towards him.

Interesting to see Said Nurmagomedov as the favorite against the debuting Mark Striegl.

Early picks?

It was a good set of fights but i stayed away from placing any bets because i was in two minds as some of the fighters were coming into this fight after a couple of losses and how they are going to perform was a mystery but i was impressed with the performance of Tom Breese ,Tom Aspinall and Cory Sandhagen but the star of the fight card is Joaquin Buckley who won the fight by a spinning back kick.

I was planning to place a bet on Tagir Ulanbekov as he was coming from Khabib Nurmagomedov camp even though i have not seen any of his past fights but then thought of leaving that after remembering the performance of Zubaira Tukhugov.

Just as I thought Sandhagen and Dricus du Plessis would win their matches it is just my intuition but certain videos from their previous fights and this threads supports on information that is why I have seen some intuitions like this thanks.

I would not be to much interested for upcoming UFC event but I saw face-offs and Joker face of Markus Perez and now I must watch his fight with Dricus Du Plessis who is favorite in this fight. I have no idea who will win here and not bet, but I support the Joker Smiley
One more fight is Edson Barboza vs Makwan Amirkhani, and I think Barboza is clear favorite here.

edit: Anyone saw this amazing KO in Kasanganay vs Buckley fight?  Smiley

Yup!  Wow..  Possibly KO of the year imo.  Almost everybody was fading Buckley cos he got KO'd by Holland just a few weeks ago.  Lol.

But Kasanganay did look way better from the Contender Series to the Maki Pitolo bout.  Then again in hindsight, it's easy to look good vs a gassed Pitolo.  Cheesy

The way Holly Holm dominated the fight gave me a sad feeling that how we expect the fight to unfold is not always how it goes, I was expecting big punches from Aldana early in the rounds but she was just worked around by Holm as she was chasing Holm all the time while getting punched, kicked and thrown down like a rag doll.

I like the fight between Williams and Imavov because the guys were throwing big punches and despite being punched so much Williams was always coming back which was a great sign of a fighter and he has some real chin man he took so many punches but he was never going to slow down or get down at all.

Back to next UFC event look at this Joker Markus Perez at face-off  Cheesy
https://twitter.com/ufc/status/1314588786035220480

That was pretty clumsy and embarrassing at the same time when Du Plessis show Perez face-first to the canvas, I know it is a gimmick to make his opponent intimidate but I think it is not working with Dricus Du Plessis, Or Markus really wants to show how good he can portray the Joker to his fans, But I have seen pictures and video that he also pulled out the same stunt against Eric Spicely.

Marlon Moraes vs Cory Sandhagen - I don't really know who's going to win this fight but I am going with Cory Sandhagen beating Marlon Moraes in a split decision, for me Moraes has huge experience than Sandhagen but I can not ignore Sandhagen's potential younger than Moraes and has a 7.6 CM advantage with the reach.

Total domination by Holm.  But here's the thing...  Are they giving her another title shotvs Nunes ?  Ugh..  Boring.  I was kinda hoping Aldana would win.  We need new faces to rise up the ranks.
So true but Holm was just too good and experienced while Aldana felt lost in the ring completely. The funniest fight wad the co main event where Felipe won but the referee was so funny man every time he separated the fighters they will again go to the grappling game and the ref separated them like 5 times if not more.

It was a pretty dull fight night to be brutally honest but there was some good action and there were some out of the world submission where the grappler herself got submitted in a shocking manner, Penna was surprised by how hard the grip was from her opponent and Penna was unconscious.

There's a back story before McGregor vs Poirier was set up.  Poirier was supposed to fight Ferguson but according to Dana White, Poirier 'negotiated himself out of the match' with Ferguson even sticking out his own neck tellling the UFC to 'pay the man' (meaning Poirier).

Just over a month later McGregor comes into the scene and Poirier agrees to whatever the UFC is offering him?  Poor Ferguson, left out in the cold.

Anyway here are the weigh ins for the event.

UFC Fight Island 5:  Face Off

Marlon Moraes (136) vs Cory Sandhagen (136)
Edson Barboza (145.5) vs Makwan Amirkhani (146)
Ben Rothwell (265) vs Marcin Tybura (263)
Markus Perez (186) vs Dricus Du Plessis (186)
Tom Aspinall (252) vs Alan Baudot (254)
Youssef Zalal (146) vs Ilia Topuria (146)
Tom Breese (186) vs KB Bhullar (186)
Chris Daukaus (227) vs Rodrigo Nascimento (265)
Impa Kasanganay (185.5) vs Joaquin Buckley (185.5)
Ali Alqaisi (136) vs Tony Kelley (135)
Giga Chikadze (146) vs Omar Morales (145.5)
Tracy Cortez (136) vs Stephanie Egger (135.5)
Bruno Silva (125.5) vs Tagir Ulanbekov (126)

My final bets:  Moraes ML at 2.15, Barboza via KO/TKO at 2.20 and Daukaus at 3.1.

That is why Conor McGregor was doing all that corona testing... and Dana White acted stupid like he doesn't know anything about it:)
My early bet would be on Dustin Poirier, but let's see if Conor can make surprise comeback first.
Conor McGregor and Dana White were not in good terms when Conor McGregor published some of the private conversation they had and after the forced removal of Manny Pacquiao fight Conor posted a fight for charity between him and Dustin Poirier and since both these fighters are having contract with the UFC Dana White said they will send them the contract and see whether they will sign for the fight and both accepted the fight.

After the resurgence of Dustin Poirier i wanted to see this rematch and it will be a really tough tight for both the fighters and i am rooting for Dustin Poirier to win the fight Cheesy.

It appears Conor McGregor will fight Dustin Poirier on December 19. Also yes it will be this year, 2020 hehehe. I speculate that Conor only agreed on this fight to be on welterweight for his advantage.

Hello Dustin! I accepted the @ufc offer to fight you, but told them it must happen in 2020. I’m ready for Nov 21st, given that cards recent injury issues, as well as any of the December dates, the 12th and the 19th. I’ll also still donate the $500k to The Good Fight Foundation

Dustin Poirier really wants to settle the score and this rematch is a conclusion if McGregor really beat him in their recent fight and I have seen Tweets of Conor McGregor Accepts the challenge so it is up to Dana White if he would accept this,

But I am most excited on the Khabib Nurmanogomedov fight than any of the fight we have I will bet on him 100% a large sum of money, And I have seen videos on Khabib really getting ready for his fight.

I don't know about all you guys but isn't it kinda depressing how huge/fun the UFC used to be and how awesome the fighters were back when Chuck Liddell, Rampage Jackson, etc were doing their things and UFC was just massive.  Now I just kinda feel like the same thing happened to it that happened to the WWE, the entertainers just aren't what they once were.

I went to high school with Matt Mitrione, so I try and stay up to date with his fights but he's certainly reaching the end if he hasn't already. Just miss the old days!
I like these guys and how they fight but during their time, there were so many rules that were already in placed. If you're going to talk about awesome fighters were, you can go further back from Royce Gracie's time. There were no rules and no weight division. The set up was a tournament for each event where each fight has to compete and win 3x, IIRC, to be hailed as UFC champion. There was no running away or dodging opponents like what you see many fighters do today.

As time passes by and as more sponsors and partnerships come in, it was inevitable for changes to happen. There are times when I think some rivalries are just fake and all their confrontations are scripted. Back then, you could easily see when two fighters don't really like each other.

^  Leaning Moraes, I think the UFC made a mistake matching Sandhagen up vs a tougher guy right after a loss vs Sterling.

I also like Tybura.  He could tuen it into a boooring match and just push Rothwell against the cage for the whole bout.

And Alquaisi.  I was more impressed with his UFC debut than Kelley's.  And I think the line shouldn't be that far apart.

I think there is a reason why they go with this matchup they are really pushing Sandhagen into the top I know that Aljamain Sterling fight was a tough one for him and back in 2017 Moraes beat Sterling and they just want Cory Sandhagen fight Moraes, but let's not be judgmental over it because Moraes almost got 10 Months hiatus and never had a fight since he won against Jose Aldo, But we can not be sure for sure.
