I am betting on small amounts but if I am not usually familiar with the fighter or having doubts on a fighter I am not taking my risk on betting on it, you will surely see different people around there are people here who don't miss a bet, people that are betting if they can take the risk and they have insights of the fight and people that are just making a share on what they think on a certain fight, I think all of this is helpful and can really help the fan base of UFC, and I am still going with Sakai.

And by the way, does Alistair Overeem looks like Wreck-It Ralph to you? because he is to me.

^  I suck too.  But I love watching the matches and make small bets here and there.

As for Lima, he's been weighing in heavier and heavier in his last three matches.  I don't think he's been training all that well at HW.  Lol.  He used to be at LHW.  He's got a good overhand right that could knock Romanov out tho.

Romanov is faster, more aggressive with the take downs and prolly has better cardio than Lima despite being a huge guy.  He also used to be a sumo wrestler, so he's obv used to pushing guys bigger than him around.  Cheesy

As for Sakai..  Dunno.  A lot of people are backing him.  Overeem is better than him everywhere...  But that chin.  Lawl.  They're fading that chin.  His chin survived at his last fight vs Walt Harris tho.  Go look that up.  You'll be 'wtf hooow?'.

Here are the weigh ins:

I’m not very good at predictions and so far dont have spare funds for betting. All I can do is make predictions based “on paper” info. This event I think that Sakai and Lima will be the winners. Dont now much about other fighters.

Hey tokeweed, do our posts with predictions and thoughts help you to make bets and to win? Just curious if all what we post here is useful or we here just chat and dont understand in fights at all? Smiley

P.S. I think you are the one who makes ufc bets or am I wrong?
I thought anyone posting in this thread is wagging a bet on the sport, i wage on MMA and i usually will never miss a fight card. I will not take anyone's prediction here on face value to make my bet, but if a few members who usually make a prediction does any fight prediction i usually watch their past fights and come to a conclusion before wagging a bet.

Great question! I am also interested to hear whether our ideas and opinions affect him or does he take them into consideration when deciding on whom to place a bet. Sometimes thinking too much about other people opinions can be counterproductive too and it can kill your intuition.

In my opinion, all counter predictions and suggestion are pretty good stuff and away in learning and understanding things that some of us don't know or pretty much doesn't understand, like what happen with Sean O'Malley VS Marlon Vera fight he got some interesting video that he shared to me that Marlon Vera may be really aiming for the back of the knee of O'Malley some stuff that you will learn in just engaging discussion like this and I think this is very healthy in making decisions and learning some stuff.

What would really help is if everybody engages in discussions about the matches.  Like my Fabinski bet, somebody I know made a case that it wasn't a good bet because Fabinski being a wrestler who likes grinding opponents down could play into Muniz's hands as Muniz is too good on the ground.  I watched Muniz's last couple of fights and thought he's right.  Now I wanna cancel my bet and bet Muniz  Lol.

If you guys think I'm wrong, tell me so.  Critique me, I'll do it to you too.  It's the best way to learn.  Smiley

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_Fight_Night:_Overeem_vs._Sakai

Few more days until next UFC event with heavyweight main event Overeem vs Sakai and I am also interested in women bantam Eubanks vs Rosa.
Overeem is favorite if we look ad bookies odds but I need to research more and read nes before any predictions.

Nevada State Athletic Commission also suspended four UFC fighters Jamahal Hill, Tim Elliott, Luis Peña and Deron Winn were all suspended, as they tested postive on recent drug tests with cannabis and amphetamines:

Dropped a little bit of action just now for the weekend's event.  A little less so than what I usually bet...  I got owned by the books the last event.  Lawl.  Cheesy

My bets:  Karol Rosa ML at 1.74, Jalin Turner ML at 2.39, Fabinski at 1.66. And I made a 6 leg parlay for fun.  Azure to win, Kelleher to win, Araujo to win, Fabinski to win, Rosa to win and the main event over 1.5 rounds at 13.78ish.

Daniel Cormier is retiring from mixed martial arts fighting, and that was officially confirmed by Dana White and usada today.
I think he will still be a big part of ufc as commentary for fights or maybe as coach in future.

He looks Leaner now in my opinion, this might come in handy with his cardio, If you would look closely in the image.

Leaner on not, this fight wont last all 5 rounds. Usually fights like, with strikers of their level, whole fight ends in 2-3 rounds. After Overeem stopped being on steroids, he loses to every decent fighters and this fight wont be any different imho.

In last 5 years, only 2 of Overeem fights ended with decision, against Verdum an Roy Nelson. In all other fight he either gets tko/ko in first two rounds or tko/ko his opponent.

Well you had a point that heavy hitters or strikers like them usually ends the match 2-3 matches only, my opinion is Sakai must have gone intense training to have such drastic change with his Physique this can sometimes make a fighter more stronger and faster than they used before, in the case of Agustos Sakai maybe a different performance this time, and look at their huge age gap of 11 years

I really like Alistair Overeem to win this but having Augusto Sakai as an opponent he should take steroids again because he might need it and he might have a hard time with this fight.

The new storyboard for Dana is for Jon Jones to fight versus Francis Ngannou. Was this not Jon wanted before he removed himself as the light heavyweight champion?
Dana White has made his mind that Francis Ngannou will fight for the title against Stipe Miocic, now with Brock Lesnar a free agent there are talks about Jon Jones taking on Brock Lesnar and even Dana White is willing to make this fight happen if Brock Lesnar is interested to come back to the UFC, but there are other talks about Fedor Emelianenko and Brock Lesnar and the odds makers have already gave Brock Lesnar as the favorite against Fedor Emelianenko but he is an underdog against Jon Jones.

@CryptoViking. Sakai also was never finished. This is a 5 round fight, however. His fat body might become tired hehehe.

Yes, as expected. People expecting Stipe to be manhandled by Dana were too optimistic, knew he would chill now a bit and choose wisely who and when he fights. He learned a lot about the business from this trilogy.

Also I think Jones has much bigger chances against Francis then people believe. Francis does not have real fights, he had only one with Stipe, every other confrontation was banging around and done. With Jones it won't be easy as that and cardio will come into play.

Regarding Sakai, he has good cardio too, he just looks so weird and deceiving. He looks slow and fat , yet he has just enough speed, his style is like sbadger/cobra combo from what I've seen. He is aggressive even when he is slow, but when he sees opportunity explodes.

Overeem gets tired after 2 rounds if he is pressed traditionally, so I see Sakai taking this one.Could even bet on it, haven't done that a while and this really looks solid to me.

Augusto Sakai - never heard of this guy, even thought I try to pay a lot of attention to heavyweights. This gem must have slipped away from my sight. He is 17-1-1 so far. He is a Japanese Brazilian (he-he, what a mix) with brown belt in BJJ, but finishes most of his fight by TKO/KO. My conclusion - Overeem is in trouble and most probably he will get TKO in first round.

Great analysis I also think that Overeem is in trouble as well, and after watching some of Sakai's highlights he is really a heavy hitter and by the looks of it every punch he let go would surely make damage on his opponent, and his body mass and height may taunt his opponent as well and because of his body mass he is like a living vanguard in my opinion, I fear for Overeem that he might have another injury on his lips again and judging on Sakai's latest photos he looks leaner now that would make him faster in my opinion.

What a funny present from Dana. Jones should start to look for a coffin already. Ngannou wont let him stomp feet or poke eyes. He will counter with face destroyer.

Do you know when they probably would fight? Maybe JJ could gain some weight and convert it to true muscles.

Looks like Dana tries to somehow apologies to Jones. I remember when Jones said he wants to get more money for his fights and Dana said he could stfu and is free to go after Jones contract is over. Now he offers him immediate title show when there is for example Curtis Blaydes is top2 heavyweight with 4 wins in a row.

There is a lot of time before it comes to that, so things and positions will change. I personally don't believe we will see Stipe and Francis fight next. I think Stipe will take it slow now a bit, which will cause Francis to get some other opponent first before he gets a chance for a title fight.

I agree that Overeem is in trouble. Sakai is very unconventional for the lack of better word at the moment. From what I've seen of him he has a kinda weird stance and looks quite slow, but that is very deceiving. I think he can go far from what I've seen and it looks he can take a punch of two which is also a plus.
