Watching UFC prelims and main card now.
Still can't get used to small venue, no crowd thing, and that every voice is heard so clearly.
Canadians have good score so far Smiley but I am waiting for main event

In any case, also wait for the return of Anthony Johnson, another light heavyweight fighter that might return as a heavyweight.
I am waiting to see the return of Anthony Johnson who is probably one of the scariest strikers with knockout power and once he returns in the heavyweight division the interesting fight would be against Francis Ngannou and it will be the biggest fight in heavyweight history as both like to stand and bang.
Oh really, Rumble is coming back?! That was nice Shocked. He is one of my favorite LHW fighters way back then including Rampage and Machida. And I am excited with with this one because I know that he is very entertaining to watch.

Anyway, are you sure that he might return as a heavyweight? I don't think so because according to Dana, his possible opponents would be Rakic or Oezdemir. It means that he will be in the LHW division. Article

Odds going down hard for Curtis Blaydes win against Alexander Volkov for next UFC event happening tommorow.
Sure Blades may have advantage, but I will not bet that he will win this easy.

Jon Jones wanted to go to heavyweight also, however, Dana did not want to pay Jon the $15 million that Jon was asking to fight Francis Ngannou.

Jon Jones has some unfinished business in the light heavyweight division as his last two fights was not convincing and he needs to rematch and then move on to the heavyweight division when the audience is allowed in the arena, until then the UFC will not be paying huge numbers.

According to sportsbet.io odds, Volkov has no chances agains Blaydes and bookies already buried him.
1,24 Blades : 3.70 Volkov Cheesy

I think this would be a victory by TKO, even though Blaydes is a wrestler.
Curtis Blaydes is a heavy favorite because of his wrestling credentials and his striking power and as one of the member said above Volkov usually struggle against elite level grapplers and that is the reason the bookies are burying him and giving him any chance to win the fight.

But Volkov trains bjj. He defended himself well agains Verdum, that is why I dont think Blaydes wrestling will work well. Blaydes is quite slow in parter (gnp), he changes positions rarely. That is why I think the fight will end in stance TKO by Blaydes (stance - this is probably the correct word. sorry for my english)

I am so exited to watch this event!  Shocked

Leaning on Till and Werdum at first glance.  I think Till will knock Whittaker out on the counter.

Anyway..  Already got some action on Lauren Murphy ML 2.01, Guida ML 2.95, the under for Roberts vs Miller at 1.98 and Burgos ML at 1.70 for the event this weekend.  Let's see how it goes.  All props go to the Free Rent MMA boys.  Smiley

Edit:  Added the lines.  All from FJ.

8 cm is not a huge difference  Grin He is even 2kg heavier - does is makes him slower also ?  Grin Just kidding.
If he is not really comfortable to 114 kg. as his weight then I can say yes. Fighters cannot feel that 2 kg. in the early rounds but they might suffer when the late rounds come. Such factor could lead to decrease in cardio, lowered guards and decrease in power Wink.

Have you already heard that Gustaffsson will now climb up to HW division? And his first opponent would be the former HW champion Fabricion Erdum, pretty interesting isn't it? Article

I hope this news encourages Bones to do the same thing for real.

Shogun vs Nogueira
Forget about the rest of fight cards, I can say that I'm already full after watching these two. Just kidding Grin. I guess I'm just more excited to watch Mauler's debut as well as the two legandary HW. Nevertheless, what an interesting line up!

Check this out guys! Jones, Gracie, Nunes and  Liddell as Dana's version of Mt. Rushmore. Agree or diagree? Well, for me they're all good but it would be nice if GSP replace Amanda Grin. Your thoughts?

UFC is putting great match ups one after another but Shogun and Nogueira i did not expect that fight, to be frank i am really surprised Nogueira is not retired as i thought both the Nogueira brothers are retired from the sport.  Gustafsson returning to heavyweight is interesting and i am waiting for Antony Johnson to return to heavyweight and if that happens then the heavyweight division would be interesting with a mix of interesting fights.

We have back to back fight cards and the main event on the next three fight cards are easy to predict. Curtis Blaydes, Dustin Poirier and Kamaru Usman.

Yup..  I'm leaning Werdum for that one.  Sure Werdum is old but Gus isn't really the fighter he once was.

Edit:  And Gus is moving up to Werdum's turf.

Here are a couple of tapes to watch before making your bets for the main event.

Excessive in everything is not good all the time Grin. He is too tall IMO which makes him move slower thus having slower reflexes as well. With this height disadvantage (how ironic lol), he is wretched from take down and dirty boxing attempts of his opponents. That's why I'm also in favor of Blaydes.
There is height difference but i does not matter but reach difference would matter but Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov have the same reach and that is what is important, the fighters with wrestling background will have an advantage and Blaydes is a knockout fighter not like Fabricio Werdum who rely on his ground game and stand up is not adjust for that situation.

Alexander Gustafsson had his time and if you look at the heavyweight division the chances of becoming a champion is a real possibility with the lack of many world class fighters, if you look beyond the top ten then there is not much of a name and a couple of good fights could land a title bout.

Brett Okamoto reported that Calvin Kattar vs. Dan Ige will headline UFC Fight Night on July 15 at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi!
https://twitter.com/bokamotoESPN/status/1272737662424637440

I wasn't so impressed with Ige at his last match even tho he won.  I know I know...  It was against a Barboza that moved down.  But still.  A couple of his bouts winning out of split decisions now.

Anyway, let's support the Rent Free MMA channel at YT.  Subscribe, up vote, etc etc..  They breakdown the fights well and could help you win a little something something too.  Wink  They've been making good picks except for 251.  But overall, they've been winning.

In this card there is Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov is a good stylistic match up and i do not see Volkov winning this fight because he always have trouble against fighters who are good at wrestling and Curtis Blaydes is an elite level wrestler and he have knockout power in his hands and a great chin.

8 cm is not a huge difference  Grin He is even 2kg heavier - does is makes him slower also ?  Grin Just kidding.

Thanks god both have lots of KO in their record, hope to see a real brawl between them. I think Blaydes gonna win on Saturday, due to he had faced more experienced opponents and learned a lot from these matches. Cant explain why, but Blaydes, imho, looks more hungry for the win than Volkov. Volkov is more "hard worker" (if that can be said). He steps in the octagon, "works" against other fighter and boom - KO. Blaydes is different - he is just likes to fight.

Blaydes started competing from very beginning. Starting with wrestling, amateur MMA, then turned professional.
Volkov started to train MMA - because he was interested to try himself in MMA. In early life he studied "Dynamics and flight control of rockets and spacecraft" in university. He is different Smiley
