For this upcoming UFC fight night, 160 between Jack Hermansson and  Jared Cannonier all I have to say is for me is that Hermansson is a more complete fighter than Cannonier well not as potentially Complete as Khabib in my opinion But I would love to see Khabib fight than him, But against Cannonier even though Jared has a punching power and have pressured Silva with a combination of leg kicks and punches but I guess looking at Silva now has a slower pace than him I am seeing this fight will surely favor for Jack Hermansson and added to this he also got a leg reach advantage than Cannonier, So I bet will go with Hermansson.

Any predictions for UFC Fight Night Copenhangen that is starting in just few days?

This two could be interesting for me:

Jack Hermansson vs. Jared Cannonier
Gunnar Nelson vs. Thiago Alves

more details and info:

Nelson vs Alves for me as well. I think both of them are in the crossroads of their career, but I will probably try to bet if I have spare funds to Nelson here.

And talking about the rematch, yes it will happened as reported already and it's going to be in US soil. So let's see how fans are going to react to this because as I have said, many claims the the reaction of the Mexican crowd is disrespectful against Stephens.

One UFC update:

Yair Rodriguez vs Jeremy Stephens is booked again,
and going to be co-main event on October 18th (UFC Boston)

https://twitter.com/bokamotoESPN/status/1176980017596772366

https://www.mmafighting.com/2019/9/25/20884339/rodriguez-vs-stephens-2-booked-for-ufc-boston

Question though is why the fight is sudden, do Stephens has been cleared by the doctor? Usually it takes at least 180 days based on the article I posted.

Anyways, strike while the iron is hot, and as @bbc.reporter have said, a new story board is made courtesy of the two fighters and Dana is banking on it to milk the controversy while there are still animosity between the two, specially with the race card, Lol, classic move by Dana here.

@notblox1. I reckon that Dana is liking how Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez created their own storyboard that might have made him remake this fight immediately while the drama is there hehehe.

Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez both claimed they got involved in a scuffle following UFC Mexico City and video has surfaced to prove it.

Source https://www.mmanews.com/video-surfaces-of-jeremy-stephens-shoving-yair-rodriguez-in-hotel/

So in the end, it looks like the drama or how the fight ends in Mexico evolved to make a whole storyboard for the Stephens vs Rodriguez rematch and Dana was quick to make the rematch because it is still hotly debated and talk about. And now that some video had re-surfaces, (haven't seen it), so this drama turns out to be personally (I'm sure media has something to do with it).  Grin

Looks like he need time to heal that eye and maybe we can see a rematch, but this time is should be in US.
I am sure we will have a rematch and i am not sure whether it will be scheduled in US, they will be fight night main event and if Stephens is fine by that time they could add in the Nate Diaz fight card.

@rosezionjohn - yes we know how tough Stephens is, you can see in his interview like he describe in the Cerrone fight, so we really can't blame him for that, but the attitude of Mexicans is really disgusting.
The reaction of the crowd is because Yair Rodríguez was too dramatic when the fight was called off as if Jeremy Stephens or the doctor made some mistake to end the fight like that and since the reason the crowd was reacting like that. Heard they had an altercation after the fight in the back stage and it is building up a good fight like the way the UFC wanted.

^  I like Gunnar Nelson and Hermansson tho Cannonier is a live dog imho.  And dunno...  I think sports betting sites seem to get their lines wrong at the UFC than say football.

Funny they made Inside the Octagon for this bout.

Just some update, Jeremy says his eye is much better now. He suffered a 'deep scratch', ouch really painful just to imagine it.

Quote
“Everything’s all right,” Stephens said. “I’m going to the doctor later today to get this cleared and get (an) on-the-American-soil opinion and everything’s all good. It’s a little sore. I have a laceration, a small cut over both my eyes, but all in all nothing major, which is good.

“It’s one of them little freaky things. I’ve had my eye orbital broken in the Donald Cerrone fight, and that dude is a killer. Way more fierce than the karate kid (Yair Rodriguez), and it’s just one of those weird things, I can’t explain it. I’ve been in 50 fights, amateur and pro, and it’s one of those weird things. It just sucks.

“Nothing blurred [now]. A little pain, it’s a little light sensitive, but other than that, my vision’s all right.”

The infamous strike that cause the fight to be ruled as No Contest (NC).

At least the ladies give us something to cheer upon. Gratz to Carla Esparza for giving us a thriller and not tapping.
Wow he gave up for that? If he had been mexican he could have been killed for that by angry betters... I think he had been very lucky to only face few insults and "UFOs"  Roll Eyes

It's not the ordinary eye poke we've seen before where opponent extend his arm with open fist. That's a scratch with some force to it. I guess you will never know how it feels until someone does that to you. A guy who prepared months and paid thousands of dollars for training camp is not a quitter for sure and doesn't deserve to be ridiculed like that.

I don't think Adesanya's gonna be moving up to LHW anytime soon.  He needs to get what's in front of him first and that's Whitaker and the MW title.  And he needs to prove that he's a real solid figher by defending it vs the best in his division.  Once he does that, then he can go and look for a potential bout vs Jones.

I think he has the potential to be great.
Adesansya reminds me of Anderson Silva when he fights. He might look skinny and small compared to other fighters with in his division but this guy is full of talent and he moves very fast. His fight with Anderson Silva is like watching a younger of Anderson Silva and the passing of the torch Adesanya. Having a bigger built plus skills maybe an advantage to other fighters but Adensyas quickness and skills will bring him to higher greatness.

A disappointing ending to the Rodriguez and Stephens fight. An accidental eye poke 15 seconds into the fight ended the match and resulted into a no-contest. Such a shame that after months of preparation, it ended that way. An immediate rematch between the two is a must but it still depends on Stephens condition.

Yeah, it's really disappointing to see the fight ended that way. And it was reported that Stephens has some deep scratch on his eye, hope he can recover soon so that a rematch would happen.

Now that the event is over, looking forward to the main event in the land down under. UFC 243!

I hope the Whittaker vs Adensanya will live up to its hype.

Im way more interested in the BMF belt than whatever UFC 243 has to offer. Adensanya is a pretty good up and coming prospect, but im not confident giving him a win. He hasn't proved to be a draw yet IMO. I don't want my cashflow to get destroyed by doing an unlucky win bet in this one. Sure he's got Anderson and Gastelum on his belt but that isn't enough to start thinking this guy is going to become another cash cow in which you can bet for wins blindfolded Jon Jones style, and that is what some people is trying to sell me, and im still not buying. Let's see how he performs with Whittaker. After 2 Joel wins, if he ends this easily, I may consider him the next safe bet in the game, just like Khabib and Jones.

Yeah, I agree, who would like his bankroll just steam roll with a guy who doesn't proved anything yet except winning against a old Silva and overhype Gastellum? And he is going to face a champion here who is battle tested against one of the feared guy in the division. So let's see how their style make this fight hype or another boring one. I'm not putting any bet on their match though, just wanted to see how either one of them will perform against each other.

They want a new posterboy and looks like Adesananya is going to be one of the future cash cows in the game. Dana White wants to build an undefeated record for him, but now we are going to see his first test. He has started beef with Jon Joes, I think he is delusional. If he doesn't continue picking up his fight in a smart way he is going to end up with a big 1 in his record.

https://www.mmafighting.com/2019/4/12/18308191/jon-jones-responds-israel-adesanya-ufc

He would need to bulk to light heavyweight wereas Jones is a natural light heavyweight fighter. He can never beat him.

Too bad that Robert W. will ruin his flawless record, Lol, Beefing with Jones? What the hell is going on with that skinny guy, Jon Jones is still unstoppable and untouchable at this point. He doesn't have what it takes to be the next cash cow, the charisma is not there that people are going to love. Like we have seen in Conor or Jones, so yeah he is delusional, let's see what his reaction when he got his 1 on the L column on his resume. Smiley

Despite an accident eye poke, more disappointing was to see how the crowd behave. Throwing plastic glasses and beer on Stephens and his team...

As Mexican i'm really ashamed of the crowd, some friends went to the event and told me it becomes a true madness. tons of trash flying everywhere. Ans it's sad to see people acting like that. But the people were in fire because it wasn't a cheap event, the cost of the tickets was between $50 and $550, and that's is some money for my people. They pay that to see a good fight and to see only 15 seconds of his hero make them angry. And i say again, it wasn't the right way to act, i'm totally ashamed and hope UFC never comes again to my country, those fighters deserve more respect.

The crowd reaction is understandable as they paid their money and came over to support their home team hero and then the fight ended within seconds, people will be upset  Grin.
That can't be tolerated because that's already far from being understandable — it was so disrespectful. I agree that they're so upset with the outcome of this main event but for sure nobody, even the fighters, wanted this. It was an accident so they should understand it. It's okay to feel disappointment but getting physical is now crossing the limits.

Anyway, recently I saw a post on FB critiquing about the design of UFC's gloves. I've also read that Dana and the management already got a new design but not yet released in the public then this incident suddenly happened Sad.

The eye poke was caused by the home town hero and he was literally not able to fight with his full potential and the call taken by doctors were right in my opinion as you are never the same fighter if you are eye poked or getting accidental punches on the groin and these fighters will fight through the pain and might compete but we need full fights when both parties are healthy. The crowd reaction is understandable as they paid their money and came over to support their home team hero and then the fight ended within seconds, people will be upset  Grin.
