The infamous strike that cause the fight to be ruled as No Contest (NC).

At least the ladies give us something to cheer upon. Gratz to Carla Esparza for giving us a thriller and not tapping.
Wow he gave up for that? If he had been mexican he could have been killed for that by angry betters... I think he had been very lucky to only face few insults and "UFOs"  Roll Eyes

I am pretty pissed on the way the crowd handle things by throwing anything they can hold from the Ice cube, food, cans worst possible case chairs, But I am not saying that I am pretty mad at the Mexican community because of the utter disgrace treatment Mexican UFC fans that are present on that fight, And I don't want to say that it is also an utter intentional move for Rodriguez but let's just say it is an accident, It can surely happen and even though we feel frustrated about it we do not give a total disgrace by just giving your all in hitting it with anything that you can hold, This is a total nuisance to most people and I am pretty disappointed.

A disappointing ending to the Rodriguez and Stephens fight. An accidental eye poke 15 seconds into the fight ended the match and resulted into a no-contest. Such a shame that after months of preparation, it ended that way. An immediate rematch between the two is a must but it still depends on Stephens condition.

Now that the event is over, looking forward to the main event in the land down under. UFC 243!

Yep Very disappointing. Especially to those who bet while they already see Steven is going to win. He was wining of course. I can only regret betting for the fight.

Despite an accident eye poke, more disappointing was to see how the crowd behave. Throwing plastic glasses and beer on Stephens and his team...

The crowd really gets furious about Stephens and started but you can't blame them for paying good money for the main event and seeing it how it ended with an eye poke incident, 15 second into the first round.

Anyway, Yair said that he has given Stephens the benefit of the doubt.

Here is a good video on the reactions during and the aftermath. Disgusting Mexican fans.

What a stupid last UFC fight night it was....
Main event fight got canceled, crowd was bad, and unhappy
started to trow things in octagon...

Correct me if I am wrong but this is probably the first ever UFC fight where a match was stopped due to an eye poke. If there was another, then that has to be a long time ago. It's still not an an excuse for the behavior but if you put that into perspective, crowd reaction would be understandable somehow. They're used to fighters continuing despite accidents like that. I'm guessing they didn't realize the severity of the eye poke at that time.

Yeah, it's really disappointing to see the fight ended that way. And it was reported that Stephens has some deep scratch on his eye, hope he can recover soon so that a rematch would happen.

I hope the Whittaker vs Adensanya will live up to its hype.

Im way more interested in the BMF belt than whatever UFC 243 has to offer. Adensanya is a pretty good up and coming prospect, but im not confident giving him a win. He hasn't proved to be a draw yet IMO. I don't want my cashflow to get destroyed by doing an unlucky win bet in this one. Sure he's got Anderson and Gastelum on his belt but that isn't enough to start thinking this guy is going to become another cash cow in which you can bet for wins blindfolded Jon Jones style, and that is what some people is trying to sell me, and im still not buying. Let's see how he performs with Whittaker. After 2 Joel wins, if he ends this easily, I may consider him the next safe bet in the game, just like Khabib and Jones.

Yeah, I agree, who would like his bankroll just steam roll with a guy who doesn't proved anything yet except winning against a old Silva and overhype Gastellum? And he is going to face a champion here who is battle tested against one of the feared guy in the division. So let's see how their style make this fight hype or another boring one. I'm not putting any bet on their match though, just wanted to see how either one of them will perform against each other.

It is really unfortunate as the fight stopped within seconds and the crowd was throwing all the shit into the cage because of frustration, it would have being a great fight but hopefully we will see the fight happen again in the near future, i was favoring Stephens to win as he was a heavy puncher. One no contest and one draw in this fight card.

I hope the Whittaker vs Adensanya will live up to its hype.
It is going to be another war and it is a really tough fight to predict.

^  Yup.  She is tough.  And I don't really rate Grasso highly for some reason.  She's too pretty for MMA.  Cheesy

Here are the results:

She broke Carla's nose, she must be tough her record shows and she thought she won the fight too.

My opinion with Yair Rodríguez vs Jeremy Stephens I guess this may end up by a unanimous decision Well because Stephens had power with his punches and I guess it will be a threat for Rodriguez because Yair Rodriguez defense is not that good but Rodriguez can really make Stephens life hell because Rodriguez can give the fight to Jeremy Stephens that bad and Yair can sure last until the End of the Fight, For me Yair Rodriguez can win this.

And for Carla Esparza vs Alexa Grasso, I really think that Alexa Grasso is really gorgeous in my opinion but looking at Esparza she seems bulky and physically huge for Alexa Grasso but I guess she can take Esparza just find because Esparza will have difficulty with his Cardio and I guess Grasso can make this a win by unanimous decision.

UFC 159 about to go down. Yair Rodriguez's first fight after ten months and he may come in rusty. Jeremy Stephens on the other hand looking to get back to winning ways. It's not as popular as the recent fights we've seen but it's good to see two fighters who loves to strike go at it. Rodriguez wide range of striking skills vs. Stephens KO power.

Stephens will take advantage of Yair's lay off and try to finish this early while Rodriguez will try to drag it then finish Jeremy or just win on points.

As expected, Gaethje just used his superior stand up game and finished Cerrone in round one. Of course we wanted them to fight for more. But Cerrone was hit cleanly, buckle on his knees and that what Gaethje needed to finished him.

Mad respect for Cerrone for wanting to fight for more even at his age. Gaethje should wait for the Khabib vs Tony fight. There is no incentive fighting Conor if he wanted to get the belt except for huge money in the table.

Donald should be stopped from fighting so often, he is going to end up with bad CTE. He has a kid now, he can't be taking that much punishment, and he is approaching 40. Not smart. I made some money with the fight because I also went for a Justin KO.

I think Justin has no business with Khabib, he will get stopped like the rest. He should fight Conor, and be thankful that he can get the money fight. I will bet for Conor winning that one. People is underrating Conor to absurd levels. McGregor's stock is at all time low, it's time to buy some. I reckon he is going to bounce back in the near future. He's had only 2 losses, one in a boxing match against the best boxer ever, another against the most dominant fighter in UFC ever after a 3 year break. Suddenly people doesn't think Conor isn't a draw anymore. Just madness.

This weekend's main event is decent.  Rodriguez showed a lot of heart when he fought KZ.  Let's see if he shows the same vs Stephens (who's a badass).  It's a coin flip with both at 1.90 (last time I checked).  I think Stephens edges Rodriquez out tho.
The fight against Korean Zombie was a war and Yair Rodríguez was loosing the fight till the last second when he scored an unpredictable elbow and i have not seen a fight before that was won at the last moment and that fight took a lot out of him as he was out of competition for a very long time and Jeremy Stephens is a real hard hitting opponent than the rest of his opponents he faced but he is coming off a two fight loss and hence it is really unpredictable.
