some advice on the Baikai mini to anyone that got them at 300  list them for 400-450 now.

A sure 100-150 bucks is nothing to sneeze at.

Especially if you have a few of them.  sell one for every 2 you have.

or 1 for every 3 you have.

No one offers them at 400 -450

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=161.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

hmmm.... I have about 6-7 minis (150MHs each).....  Roll Eyes

Remember a certain win is always smart to do.
Sell two for 450 each. 900 towards roi plus whatever they earned.

Still have 4-5 left. If they whale you make good money. If they drop at least you sold two at a profit

I need to discuss with the owner of the X11 farm -- sell all the singles or quads, consolidate to Giant - that maybe a good strategy.

it is a hedge that i suggest.

say 7 minis cost 2100  say you mined 600 back.  you sell 2 at 450 each 900 back you have 1500 back and 5 minis

which means  2100-1500 =

600  is your new net cost for 5 minis. In two weeks if price holds  you may have mined back  300 more.
your net cost for  the 5 is now 300  sell 1  at 450  you are up 150 usd and still own 4 machines!

The window of no gear high prices is usually a short window.  a month at most 2 months.

Thanks for the tip Phil. Yes, this makes perfect sense.

I have asked my buddy if he is interested in potential buyers yesterday but he gave a flat NO. His company does fintech apps development for clients and he is also maintains the X11 farm as a DASH masternode. I recall he paid 1000 DASH a year back to become a masternode --- at today's value thats 6X.... he is sitting on a goldmine if you ask me. The DASH reward system is 45% miner incentives, 45% to maintain infrastructure and 10% to maintain network. I think each block reward is 5 DASH.

DASH just past USD$70 awhile ago.... and the X11 marketplace just went through the roof!

I am speechless.

Could this be a clear signal.... that DASH will be the next BTC?

Just wanted to report back on the Baikal Mini Miner that I have had almost 1 week now.  This little thing really rocks!  It was BY FAR the easiest mining-related equipment to set up and get running that I've ever had! Literally... just plug in the power and LAN cable, log in to its web interface and amend the already listed pools for your user names, and BAM, you're good to go!

Since that initial config, I have not had to do anything with it for a week!  Only check my returns, which in fact, have been very close to what the calculators say... about .05 to .06 Dash per day. Just got my first payout of .25 Dash yesterday and went to my exchange wallet with no issues.  So, as things are now, that equates to about 2 Dash per month, which at current prices would ROI this thing in about 100 days.  I would totally be down to get at least 1 more of these but now Baikal is out of stock and the secondary market prices are simply ridiculous... most are at least 2x the $300 retail price!

Always nice to read someone scores on some  gear.

I am very interested in the Baikal miners.  Thank you for the information!!

Yeah, the 1 small Mini I have is great and the company has excellent customer service. Unfortunately, they are now out of Minis and only were able to offer my a Giant for like $2,300. The ROI on those is actually slightly more time overall than the mini's because even though they provide 6x the hash-rate at less than 6x the wattage, they cost about much as 7 mini's.  It's still probably worth it if Dash stays around where it's been the last few weeks, but I just can't afford to drop $2,400 on it now since I just built my 3rd mining rig.  Hopefully, they will have mini's available again soon because I refuse to make some re-seller rich by paying 2x or more retail for them.

There is also another model, Quads. -- Basically 4 x Minis with 1 controller -- 600MHs

They are suppose to stand vertically; ie stack 4 singles. But I decided to lay them horizontally for ease of access - Baikal tech team said OK as long as ventilation is good, so I kept them as it is. Later on when I realised that once installed, very little reason to ever touch it again -- maybe put them upright -- but nahhh.... if it aint broke dont fix it.

A noteworthy note - Baikal has very good engineering here. Quality, Stable, good cooling too. Firmware upgrades by USB cable. The latest firmware can auto-swicth pools across X11/X13/X14/X15/Quark/Qubit -- but I am on X11 permanently due to big uptick on DASH. Best of all, they let me download a utility that manages the entire farm and I can restart, change pools, auto-scan network for Baikals easily all in one dashboard.

Here's an updated pix of the Giants (900MHs each) in the farm. Now using EVGA1300-G2 powering 5 Giants. A Giant draws about 200-210watts each. The Quads are powered by Antminer S7 1600w PSUs (old relics from the past).

Yeah I'm thinking on these so hard right now..
I can builted more gpu miners or get some of these
It's hard to tell if the market will last on X11 right now
I'm probably going to end up with more gpus
The resell value of those will be easier to get over the baikal miners
If the minis come back in stock I might go for those and start there and see what happens

Any news on the Bitcoin ETF SEC decision?

BTC currently USD$1257, expect some uptick enroute to the SEC ruling.

fu to the etf and big drop in btc price

I will buy some later today

Look at the price history on coinbase though, that tells the real picture.   Flat bottom at 1000.  How many buyers @1000 do you think there were at the time of the fall.

Given the way the order plots usually look;  I'm willing to bet quite a large sum of BTC.    It never hit below.  When it didn't drop lower;  shortly after is when the price drop "buy scramble" happened.

Funny thing though;  BTC is already "ETF" traded on exchanges like coinbase....  The price drop is just market play and manipulation.  In my eyes.  The long term delta is still waaaaay positive.

but I have tremendous over head

now that SEC has denied the ETF.... in contrast, BTC seems to be showing her resiliencies, 1148$

BTC have come a long way to show character like this - let's BTC remains above 1k, so that alts continue to play the other important role in the crypto currency world.
