The decency of this forum is on like no other I know. These I attribute to the moderators though, my comments might seem in significant but then, the job been done is quite commendable as the lesson learnt from this forum doesn't only ends within the forum but also sets the individuals literally life style on the best path.

Yes! it really does, if you were here 2 years ago, you won't believe how this community has grown by implementing the merit system. From that day on, users with the willingness to learn are the ones who actually left until today. those who only came here just to earn some money which they though are easy to do. are long gone because they cannot stand the difficulty on how to earn single merit. As you can see today, Our forum has become less on spammers than before. thanks for the tireless effort of our mod and admin, for thinking new possible solutions to improve our community.
Yeah, I agree on all your points but this forum also has a lot of scammers pretending to be legit developers and sometimes we find this all too late, yet we are doing everything to get rid of these scammers.
They can defend themselves for hiding their true colors but since this forum is transparent and there are active users who are willing to bust them then they will not succeed on launching fake projects. You can see a lot of projects on the scam section that are busted even before they can invade here.Those things are avoidable but their are more people who easily trust since they think that once they see a good presentation on certain platform they can earn a good cash on it.
Maybe this people are the one who are really just here to earn money. Never ever considered visiting good boards to learn something. For good users, they will impossible to fall on such scams. Only those hunters who dont even research if a project launching is legit or scam.

I think this is outside the concerns of OP,Because scammers only victimized Noob and Greed that is the sad reality hereso counting them here is not appropriate because we are losing in scam as our own mistakes.
Look about my perspective ,I have often ask seniors here before making investment,once the coin get my attention?i make sure that some Good in investigation will take on it first before finally putting money,in this way at least i have small chance of being a victim?
Like what OP says,It is the Merit system that make this forum more cleaner,i wouldn't ask for more now because our Bitcointalk.org environment is now becoming one of the cleanest forum in all crypto sites.

One of the best things implemented to our forum is the merits there are a lot of spammers today are now struggling to earn merit because we have the spam busters that take immediate action and report the thread and the account of the member too. Also, merit is one of the good things to filter out the good contents of the member the number of merits you have the number contribution.
If you are planning to stay into the lower rank go disregard the merit system but if you want to go into the higher rank you must need to make construction and helpful threads to earn merits

I would like to disagree with the thing where low rank members are ranking up, I have been posting for awhile and 10 merits is the only thing that I have accumulated, it may sound like I am whining but no, there are other quality posters out there buried in the second page of any quality thread and people do not care about it, most of the people that is getting a merit is either they know from the forum for a long time or either they have a convenient answer to a thread, the only merited thread that I respect is those that work on busting scams and forum abusers.
I like this forum, and I have understood little about it, it makes use of merits and activities to rank members. I have checked few threads and I saw well written posts. The forum is a bit hard for me to start but I know the beginning could be hard but the later would be easy. I have also noticed few other things about this forum.

You are already doing well having over 39 merits so far I was a dummy back then, was more into social media bounty Campaign and in turn just increasing my post and activities with Bounty thread reports which wasn't cool and still working on getting ride of them.

That's the reason why there are a lot of people who is good at on this forum because they learn a lot of the gs and sharing their ideas too. Merit is one of the best things that the forum have because this filtered out the quality of the members, but before we have the merits airdrop it's the start of the merit implemented. Those merit airdrops are given to the member depends on their activity count but right now if you are just a newbie and want to join into our forum merit matters because this will reflect the number of contribution and quality contents of the member as you can see there are a lot of members right now is having to struggle with their accounts because they cannot make a rank up immediately because of the merits requirement having the rank of Newbie up to Jr Member it's quite easily but if you want to reach up to member rank it's quite hard and if you want to rank up more this is the start of your long journey to the forum.
Every member of this forum has a different skills on writing a constructive post which is a good thing they are in unique on their post some of them are approachable some of them are strict but the most important at the end of the statement is they have the objective to give the idea.

I have now prettily understood this, it is very important to have alluring communication skills, I have seen many members will good communication skills receiving merits and ranking up, but it is also included with their hard work especially the newbies, members and full members. Merit system is only prevented the endless creation of new accounts which could then advance in the ranks only on the basis of activity. That’s the key thing about that system, but there’s no way we can say we got rid of spammers and shitposters. In general, a very small percentage of those who managed to rank high (Hero & Legendary), after the merit system was introduced it also tells us more than clearly that the vast majority did not live up to the challenge.
I may not be a great poster, but I try to be as good as possible - yet in 2+ years I failed to become a self-made Legendary member. You also need to know that merits are not only given to quality post/s which is a common misconception especially for beginners. Merits are shared for fun, sarcastic, sometimes vulgar posts and are not moderated (which means you can do with them whatever you want). Everything will be much clearer to you if you stay on the forum and become an active member
I really understand you peoples points, I will try my best to contribute too, I am taking time to learn already, and I will still talk about this that I just like how this forum is, if it is simple, it will worth nothing, but it is hard to worth something.
Most of the newbies today want to earn more money with the use of the forum those are the goal of the newcomers because of the news they've got. The aim of this forum is to gain and give a lot of knowledge that came from different users who contribute a lot. Some of the members aim for merit but do not have good quality content.
If you want to earn the merits of the best recommendation is become unique, creative and a good content creator after that many people will appreciate your content and the merit will follow. Ranking and merit system is not a race it takes time before you will get to rank up but even it is slow there is progress.

In my opinion, if you can contribute something to the forum or help other members with some important into, you will get merits.
There is no specific rule how to earn merits so there is no meaning to talk much about it.
Just be yourself and don't talk much about it 😀
I understand that most new members here are attracted with earning potential and they are desperate to get merits and rank up because of signature campaigns.
Still, there is no shortcut here or more easy way to achieve result, only hard work and effort.
