Dharwad International School in Karnataka is the first school offering a facility of Bitcoins for their annual fees. The population of 1.25 billion, is set to overtake China’s by 2022 – and India’s remittance industry is calculated at a massive $50-70 billion. Experts are touting India as home of the next Bitcoin boom.

Didn't know that earlier, do other schools also accept bitcoins ?

I think this is a very interesting developement.
Karnataka is in India, and exactly there is so much potential for bitcoin.
Of course it's just the school fees that can be paid with btc.
But it shows that somewhere in the organisational levels of that school is someone who has an idea of what bitcoin is and what it can achieve.
Maybe that person can pass his knowledge down to some students.

thats actually pretty cool, but i doubt that a small school accepting school fees in bitcoin does anything for bitcoin. Would be kind of tedious for the parents to pay fees with a currency thats volatile and fluctuates every day.
That's right if the impacts weren't going to be overwhelming and will not do that much to bitcoin, but it's not kind of tedious for the parents if they were paying the educational fees with bitcoin. the fluctuation may make them pay even lesser than through usual currency or even higher. such a risky indeed

It's a great thing that there is now school accepting bitcoin, aside from it's hassle free it has less transaction cost compared to other online transfer. I am excited for the next years to come. I hope here in our country we will have it too not only in private school but even in smaller school. This is one way to enhance bitcoin.

Great to see such things happening in asian countries too, because i've always seen countries from Europe or America accepting bitcoins or having bitcoin ATMs etc, but now it is coming in Asia as well so it would be an interesting time to see bitcoin spreading around.

Well as far as I know in some other countries who are open into bitcoin system I heard that there is a university who accepted bitcoin, and some altcoins are planning to accept bitcoin in university which is the leocoin, it is one of their project.

That's a commendable step taken by the school although it's doubtful if everyone in India owns that many bitcoins to pay for hefty school fee. But again the move must be appreciated and encouraged as such things only can bring more awareness among the masses towards adopting this wonderful digital currency. I have also read that there are bitcoin ATMs too in some of big cities in India. Great going. Keep up the good work Indians.

That's a great news. It's a breakthrough for bitcoin. Bitcoin is getting more known.
Surely this will give positive impact to bitcoin. It could help to make economy grow.
I hope bitcoin will more adopted in future.

Exactly, this is great news for bitcoin, for being known and it will be a great help to defeat those issues about "bitcoin is dead".
I guess using bitcoin in this kind of payment to school will be the most awesome way to promote the bitcoin to the public, especially
in terms of trust which is hard to gain, so we hope for the best success of this using this mose of payment to school

This is a good move and I think that other schools, universities should make this decision and start accepting bitcoin instead of cash /fiat only. If I had such a chance to pay in bitcoin I would feel like a boss and people will look at me what am I doing lol.

The management might have researched much about the acceptance of bitcoin into their administration and finally started, because with bitcoin one who is gonna lay the first stone of acceptance surely gets profited in a short. Same as bitcoin early adopters who were successful now.

Oh its a great idea for a school to accept bitcoin payment  because it make use of our technology which our computers of modern days and it eliminates hassle of transactions in school specially with accounting process. This would be great plans for the future in our country because theres a convenience store which started to have online wallet transaction booth which can be also implemented in schools to use bitcoin payment.

That’s really great news, I wish kids should learn about bitcoin and crypto currency technology along with the digital fiat wallets. Further, I think to increase the awareness about this technology there should be some sort of promotion from merchants (and customers too) because both are inter dependent and if merchants starts accepting bitcoin then customers will also start looking more about it. Promoting bitcoins in school is great step because it will directly inculcate bitcoin in kids (the next generation).

It is sound good that there is appear a first school accept bitcoin as alternative way to pay annual fees. The parents or even the students can pay fees with their bitcoin so easy only by themselves if they have bitcoin Grin good option enough to bitcoin becomes more easy using and as way to interest the other people with bitcoin.

The world is slowly evolving and is starting to accept and embrace bitcoin. Given that fact that a school initiates to accept bitcoin as payment for tuition it will be a good start and soon many institutions will going to follow this system and I foresee bitcoin to again skyrocket in value.

This is really cool! School that accepting bit coin is a good idea. I don't know if its true but wise move for school to accept bitcoin because it popular right now. I saw someone post here that there was a school newspaper articles about bitcoin. Then I see this post. I guess its a good start for bitcoin. I hope many stores and establisment accepts bit coin in the future.
yeah it's good to hear this Grin This will not only give children and even adults more knowledge about bitcoin and encourage them to use bitcoin but it also make a huge change in some people's thoughts. Having bitcoin accepted in schools will prove that bitcoin has nothing to do with scamming people and it is a new technology that should be embraced.

I'm glad to hear that a large country other than China is embracing bitcoin. It's good for more markets to use it and it is beneficial for China to not have a monopoly on bitcoin.
