That's great,I really think that schools schould be more responsive to BTC and show an example of how useful actually BTC can be so more people stary paying attention to it.The more examples like this we have, the easier it will be for BTC to grow its market.

Even though I don't know how popular is Bitcoin in India atm (it seems that it has a good potential and growing) these are definitely good news for the Bitcoin users there. What's next?offering lessons about Blockchain and digital currencies? That would be awesome,if I am not mistaken there is a university in Cyprus that does it already.

Dharwad International School in Karnataka is the first school offering a facility of Bitcoins for their annual fees. The population of 1.25 billion, is set to overtake China’s by 2022 – and India’s remittance industry is calculated at a massive $50-70 billion. Experts are touting India as home of the next Bitcoin boom.

Didn't know that earlier, do other schools also accept bitcoins ?

Well, it is not the first school or university which accepts Bitcoin for paying the fees or tuition.
The King's College in New York is accepting Bitcoin for paying tution. Also the Cumbria University and some others. Find them on Google by search for "unversity tuition bitcoin".

Wow. This is great News. However, since they already accept Bitcoin, shouldn´t they also offer a crash course on Digital Currency for newbies?

It's cool that school accepts bitcoin, but what do they buy with it? it's for parents to buy the books? what's the point tho? a kid should be in school to learn, not to buy things.

one good step to promote bitcoin. sometimes I just hear some shops accepting bitcoin as payment, but now a scool accept bitcoin as payment. what a great idea!

if this keeps running, it's not impossible that mass adoption will increase in Karnataka.

Back in the day I think lunch line deposits could be made in BTC virtually at my original school. Not sure if the provider offers this, but in truth try getting a Bitcoin debit card and seap through that way if payments are able to be made with one.

Although it's just a very small step it's one in the right direction and highly encouraging. The school seems to be one for the upper class. So I think there was already demand for adding this kind of payment option from the "educated elite".

This fits well to my assessment that India will be the emerging nation that will see the most rapid Bitcoin adoption. The more liberal governance and the official encouragement to use modern technologies as well as efforts to improve the technological infrastructure will be beneficial. Even though China shows increasing Bitcoin adoption as well, it still remains a more or less gray market. I'm pretty sure that India will soon outmatch China in terms of user base.

Interesting, but I doubt many people from the Western World are studying in India. It's not very reputed.
It doesn't matter. India soon will be Bitcoin super power along with the China. For example: recently Zee News one of the largest Indian news networks presented show about bitcoin.
They hinted that Bitcoin has potential to reach $10k soon. Cryptocurrency is becoming very popular form of investment in India and it is only a beginning.

Article about Zee News featuring Bitcoin: https://cointelegraph.com/news/largest-indian-news-network-bitcoin-will-reach-us10000

That's interesting because I also think that Bitcoin has that potential. Although I don't think it will happen soon I'm almost sure that in 5 years or so it is pretty much possible.

India is a great and underestimated country in the Western world because we mostly have the pictures from the poorest regions on this country.

If you get more people onboard by using that argument, they might get deceived to wait that long and they'll end frustrated and anti-Bitcoin.
