coin shows its true value on poloniex
True value is determined through cost of mining. I have a 10 Sol/s contract for 4 months with www.Zcash-Miner.com which costs me 0.125 BTC. I am mining since Genesis block and mined 0.01047092 ZEC so far. So, true value of 1 ZEC right now should be 0.125/0.01047092, i.e. 11.93782399 BTC. As more coins are mined, true value is expected to go down and settle at 1 BTC. Whatever value is shown right now on various exchanges are result of trading.

this miner web site is a scam and those people are spamming the board with this type of message.

I've tried mining contracts before and its almost impossible to get profit from them. Which begs the question, if it was profitable why wouldn't the mining site just keep the currency and profit that way?

Genesis-mining is a legitimate mining site but looking at the cost of their zCash mining contract it would take the full year to make your money back. And if zcash's price tanks, you'd really be screwed.

So, there's no way zcash keeps it's current value right? As has already been mentioned, there will be more zcash coming into the wild which will probably bring the value down a little bit.

What price is a good price to get in though? If it drops below 0.5 BTC is that a good time to get in?

True value is determined through cost of mining.

No, that's backward.  The cost of production of something doesn't determine its value.  If I dig deep holes in the morning, and fill them up in the afternoon, and spend $10 000,- on that, then these filled holes aren't worth $ 10 000,-.

With mining, normally, the cost of mining is the dependent variable as miners join (and increase difficulty, and hence cost of mining) as long as it is profitable, which depends on the price of the currency (and the amount of block reward).  So the cost of mining is a consequence of the market value, and not the other way around.

If tomorrow, and for the years to come, bitcoin's price would fall to $10,-, then the mining costs will also drop by a factor of 70, and the difficulty will go down accordingly.

When there is enough supply in a few months, the ZEC price will reduce to between 0.1 to 1 bitcoin.

A bit optimistic? It's in that range now and there'll be around 100 times more coins in a few months.

Your calculation needs to be prorated. It is pointless in any case, as market value determines the cost of mining not the reverse.

We all know there will always be a time when you will be a bagholder when you trade alt coins. But mostly your holding will be 10-even 1000 times bigger then the BTC balance you paid .  But with zcash we have alot of people who paid 2-3 btc per 1 zcash.    so they sit and look at the 1 zcash balance they have

that can not feel good.    what you guys think the bottom for this bullshit coin is?  i sa 0.002-0.004

it is is true that the anonimity function do not work for real, the devs get a 20% fee on all the blocks mined and there are govs behind this shit I would say that the real price in crypto world must be 0.00 BTC

You don't need a new coin to "anonymize" your bitcoins. There's coin join, join market, coin shuffle, confidential transactions, and the usual mixers, laundries, and any shared wallets (exchanges, game sites). Anonymity is so overrated.
Not to forget the latest TumbleBit either.

Bitcoin Uncensored hosts trashed this coin before the launch. They are bozos, but most of their critique is spot on: (fast forward to 1:00:00)

I don't like it, I don't like anything about it. I first heard mention of it through a Reddit ad, in which it was solely advertised as "5x increase in price since launch". I will absolutely never put money into it. It's too late to make profit on it anyways.

Bitmex offer future contracts. You can short it. People are making money on that i hear.

You could actually  make  money  on  doing  short trades  with zcash  especially on  poloniex   i saw the price which is  about 1btc+ as  far  as i can see.  Short trades would   be  better to make  profits but  you would really need some  money  to put  on because   if you  just  putting  up small amounts  it would  be useless on  rolling your  money. Trust me.  This   coin  would  definitely  dump on the  long  run. As  you can see  on the previous  price rise  then suddenly dumped  to 1btc.. Well we still dont  know ,

Polo has margintrading not enabled. This means you need to go long to sell higher which is a fools game at this point.

Ehhhh... it's not true top secret privacy or anonymity.... but for all intents and purposes all of them have some advantage.

And I just read that article, it doesn't say anything to explain how what I've mentioned don't work. They all work, you just need to know how to use them "properly" and not be stupid, like the owner of kick ass torrents, (used coinbase as his wallet.)

Indeed we already have a lot of options we can take these days so why would we need it, I think its just not needed these days...
Maybe in the future when its more known or something.

Unfortunately the majority of those options don't actually work. I.e., they don't give you anonymity or privacy.

The only one that actually works, here and now, and into the future, is XMR.
