Is it true that more pools means more mining? Saw that some are not receiving their mined coins, by the way I am still waiting for my first transaction mined on suprnova at sell rate of 50btc for 1zec. How difficult it is to create mining pool?

50 btc for 1 zec LOL what a joke

When there is enough supply in a few months, the ZEC price will reduce to between 0.1 to 1 bitcoin.

it would be nice to know why Israeli airforce has invested into this bullshit tech. what do they want to achieve?

get their enemies into it and then open up that back door and clean them out. saves a few bombs and some jet fuel too.

You don't need a new coin to "anonymize" your bitcoins. There's coin join, join market, coin shuffle, confidential transactions, and the usual mixers, laundries, and any shared wallets (exchanges, game sites). Anonymity is so overrated.

I'm glad to find this thread on Zcash. I was having trouble getting complete information on the project, the specs for the coin, and its privacy aspects. After an hour of reading, I have concerns about:

* Grant funding and Israeli military connections
* "golden" master keys - dafuq?
* Developer subsidy built in
* Excessive positive hype and ridiculous initial trading prices
* a bug which is causing unconfirmed transactions for miners (https://github.com/zcash/zcash/issues/1705)
* The way this Zooko creep cracks his knuckles nervously (https://youtu.be/O8QA6Nvg8RI?t=5377)

I think I'm done here...

You can add that the whole hype reason, untraceable transactions, don't work.

heh, that's unfortunate isn't it? You'd think the Mossad would test their software better.

This is a scam coin. The price is high to make people use their BTCs to buy, but some time later the price down a lot! I don't think it's a good deal. I won't use my BTCs to exchange into this Zcash, looks very artificial for me.

the most funny coin ever created... personally I dont think anyone with right mind would buy this right now apart of pump brigade, which is great becouse they will
loose a lot of bitcoins:)

this stupid price cant last for long they dont have enough bitocins to buy them all and keep price on this level...

when slow reward get finish, around 30 days plenty of new zcash will hit exchange and price will get fucked nicely...

supply is super low right now thats why the can control the price!

Thoughts on Zcash

Zcash is implemented as an inferior crypto 1.0 blockchain, they are making the same mistake that bitcoin made.Even though you use DAC(decentralized autonomous company) then there is no point of privacy.
so better way is to be away from such projects..

quite often in life you will get projects like SYNC and ZCASH whose dev will mint money from you.

very well said. zcash is not bringing anything new to the table and also on top of this they want to make fast money. So i stay away until we get no blockchain based no fee crypto comes along that is decenterlized

I was expecting for anoncoins to be outlawed sooner or later and now they fund them instead?

Huh? Funded by taxpayer money? Why would the taxayer have in interest in anon-coins? Quite the opposite should be the case. I was expecting for anoncoins to be outlawed sooner or later and now they fund them instead?

Yeah, right  Roll Eyes

I'm just talking the politics of it, it is crony capitalism at its best, taking non-profit grants to fund your LLC venture.

Its not uncommon for scientific projects to be funded by US and European Union grants (like the ones listed for Zcash). Im much more concerned about the trusted setup.

Heh, personally i'm more offended they are taking taxpayer money while also taking investor backing AND 20% of the mining rewards. Why do they need grants with all this private backing?

In regards to the possible shady funding, mining reward etc.. one of the big problems I see is the fact that since and correct me if im wrong, ZEC is like a black box where you can only see void (not open blockchain), we can't know where the funds are going... so you have to trust the funds are going to the right places...

As far as I know monero doesnt have this problem, since you can optionally send transparent transactions.
