This is a very helpful thread for me as a newbie on bitcointalk.org, and the OP has a point there, about the 3rd world posters, I can imagine the feeling of the old member on this website seeing thousands of shit post a day, I'm from the 3rd world country and also bad in English but I understand the message of this thread, Merit is something to be earned hard from people who acknowledge you.

Well, thank you so much for your sharing.
I'm interested join on Joe's program, but for now the 3rd round already closed.
Additional for me on your sugestion above.

Read the topic carefully before reply on some thread, and study the thread case first. It will useful to make a good post reply and still on the thread topic as well

Anyway, still not get any merit on mine because before I'm only focus for bounty and now I just realized how important merit for my account  Grin But will try to get it even a bit late.
Have a nice day!

Cheers!

That's why you just replied with sir when TMAN mention that you should use sir as a respect to other people. If you really good poster then you should already know what to do and won't bother reading this thread.  Since you're here that means you still need more guidance from 3rd world poster as TMAN said.

Hello Sir, I'm addressing this as a sign of respect to everyone. Hope you can grasp what i mean to say cause even though we aren't mate, this is necessary even the person your speaking with is unknown to you.

You really dont need to address anybody with "Sir" - everyone here is having the same status as you have. Although there is something called "Rank" still it holds least value in having a "status" here. Moreover it irritates people because they think you are trying to act nice and be polite for no reason whatsoever. Can be taken a type of goody-goody before doing something bad. I am sure you can site examples from real life in this aspect.

Overall dont "punctuate" your posts with "Sir/Madam" - honestly its begshit and I would ignore all people who do so.

I agree with you, addressing someone with "Sir" makes you belittle yourself and makes the one who you addressed with the word feel like his beyond you, although for someone it's a form of respect.
and some says that SIR means Slave I Remain, I think its inappropriate to say that.

Bitcointalk is a privately owned forum. Get your facts straight before commenting.

This is grat to ear, but someone here on this forum forgot that Bitcoin is a worldwide event and for someone (like me) English is the third language(while they can't speak a perfect English). They pretend a perfect grammar but they probably forgot (maybe they don't know? anything about the Bitcoin) factors like decentralization and freedom.

Bitcointalk is a privately owned forum. Get your facts straight before commenting. Of course the language spoken here is English in the general boards but we have local boards for those who dont have a proper grip of English. If you are among such people you should refrain from posting in the English only Boards and stick to your local boards.

Also appoint someone reputable from your local community to become a merit source who can spend time in the forum for a decent period in order to merit the posts in the local board.

This is the best solution for non-English speaking people out here. But I am sure they will all flock in meta just to do some pseudo-begging for merits.

Too many ignores in this thread... I do not see a lot of these replies so I cannot merit them, so please leave..

Sorry TMAN I get the point of merit system but that guy saying is true. That's how can merit be farmed easily by some members of the forum. If you're not believing visit off topic and check it. I know the concept why this merit created and this way is also helpful it is just not through quality post and helpful stuff in the discussion of crypto development but helpful way through bounty.

Perfection isn't needed, I just need to understand what someone has typed the 1st time I read it.

I am pretty sure my right foot has forgotten more about bitcoin than you will ever know, but to answer your other point, this is an English language forum.

Parody

F*ckers guide to getting merits

  • First buy a twitteraudit pro (Bronze, Silver or Gold) all of them are meritable.
  • Make a shitpost about it and post it in Off-Topic.
  • Translate it into different languages using Google Translate and post it on Local Boards.
  • Audit everyone who asks.
  • Wait for someone to merit you.

Wait until you rank up you little shit.

Tried and Tested

This kind of reason/way make me think that merit can be buy by money. Hate it but is the truth. I saw it on off topic and the guy offering this have a lot of merits. The concept of merit system is being conquered by this type of way. Fact hurts.

That's your opinion sir, I'm not trying to beg for anything here just expressing what I know is right even in real life. I know you have high rank here in forum compared to mine but that is not your status in real life so don't say this attitude is begshit, but that's your perspective I'll rather continue mine if you dont mind. By the way if this how you wish being address then its fine. You are one of the alu services right? from now on I`'ll never address you sir on your telegram group as you wish.

You are going on ignore as you are obviously retarded, you praise my post then fucking ignore one of the key points - stop calling people Sir, it is fucking annoying ok..
The guy probably didn't get that it was just theymos' the 1st April joke about calling everyone 'sir' to be counted as Politeness Cheesy

Sorry, It's just my habit of mentioning it. I read your OP of course, it was stated on the first line. Anyway will ignore or probably practice to remove that on discussion here on forum. Thanks my bad.

Giving merit is subjective    also  the guy simply   gave a service that helped many members in our forum  and its their way of saying thank you with their own merit .
