I think it is ethereum and also ripple. Both of these coins have great potential for the future. Ethereum also includes my favorite altcoins. I think investing in both coins is really a boon. That's just my opinion.
It depends what you need. If you need to be sure in your investition, that it will not became a skam of something. For me it is XEM and NEO. But you will not see best profit.
Electroneum , if you look at the position in coinmarketcap, ETN slalu is in the top 70, and now the age of ETN is only about 3 months, and only 1 exchanger ... most likely ETN will enter big exchanger like Bittrex and HitBTC easily
Ethereum is best coin for investment. I'm not sure about the choice of the second coin. I'm following Tron (TRX), which quickly broke into the top 10 coins. But there are suspicions this coin is too bloated

ETH and IOTA. IOTA may be one of the top altcoins and is modeled after the Internet of things (IoT). It has come a long way in its price as well. Ethereum is amazing because it introduced their own Ethereum network, in which other people can create tokens based on it. It made it easier for developers to create their own tokens, because they don’t need to create an entire blockchain from scratch.
There are alot massive potential of altcoin now, many new altcoin that just entered to the market and listing in exchange promising high high profit and has good and strong concept and idea. And in my opinion some of that altcoin is Utrust, App coin, and Deepbrainchain.

Monero, Monero, Monero.
If you are going to look at privacy coins also look at DeepOnion it is severely undervalued! Also TenX has hit a bottom as of late and I think there is much upside potential for that one too.

But TenX, what the hell is WRONG with you?! I understand that you most probably are invested there, but dont give bad advice! TenX has no product , their cards got cancelled a week ago, if you want ton invest in Card token ,buy Centra or other working product's token!

Waves and Ethereum are definitely a hold for me considering the price held well when bitcoin was going down.
Ethereum and waves are my top 2 altcoins too. I think their value will continue to increase and if ever that Bitcoin goes down, these two will be given an opportunity to rise and be popular soon. 
I think best altcoin for invest is BCH and ETN. everybody know BCH is segwit from bitcoin, first launch ,BCH value just 400$ .but now BCH value reach 3000$+ . Wow. Value going up and still up again. ETN is new coin but i believe ETN can make me got a profit, Ico ETN price is 0.01$ but now ETN reach 0.19$ .
