1) doesn't wait for to block to be mined in order to confirm tx, and therefore has truly instant transactions
2) has some sustainable retention policy, instead of keeping things in ever growing blockchain forever
3) with incentives to nodes, not just miners
4) with privacy similar to Monero
5) with functionality similar to ETH, but with ability to fix bugs in that functionality
Once it is out there, I will buy it.

IOTA and Monero looks unpumped yet in 2018. I think there's a decent chance they will moon in near future, ofc if Bitcoin rally does not happen sooner. SPHTX and TAU for lovers of fresh blockchain product. BIS has a chance to follow XRB. Masternode coins are usually a good investment, I've got a bag of Crave.
TAU - blockchain platform altcoin with a lower marketcap and better tech than the competition. Has more room to grow from the low cap. It recently ICO.

It is much better to participate in some really great ICO, like TraDove. They are already well known on the market. They are creating great platform like Facebook but for companies to find each other and safely interact in blockchain ecosystem.
You can try to buy waves coin, ripple and ethereum and for sure this three coin is a potential coin that the price possible to increase more in the next few months. You can try this coin with your extra money only because even the price continue to increase they have possibility the price decrease and if that happen you lose soke money so better invest only the money you can afford to lose.
I would choose Ripple and Ethereum. I think this is the two most promising and pesspective alternative crypto currencies. There are plenty of others but these two are the best.

As for me, top 2 altcoins to invest today are GiFTO(GTO) and Cardano(ADA).
Cardano(ADAcoin) is something which has been underestimated from long time and i am sure sooner it will be the next Ethreum as this crypto has great features which will make an impact for sure and apart from Cardano i think KIN coin will become next big thing as they already have a product in the market in the name of Kik messenger so i believe those who are investing into it now will earn in fortunes in future.
ETH and IOTA. IOTA may be one of the top altcoins and is modeled after the Internet of things (IoT). It has come a long way in its price as well. Ethereum is amazing because it introduced their own Ethereum network, in which other people can create tokens based on it. It made it easier for developers to create their own tokens, because they don’t need to create an entire blockchain from scratch.
To these two you can add Ripple. Now, however, its price falls. But, I'm sure it's temporary thing. We’ll see how this technologically improved currency will rise again. Some talks that Ripple will beat Bitcoin with the time.
As for me, top 2 altcoins to invest today are GiFTO(GTO) and Cardano(ADA).

I would choose XRP and Stellar. Because they have the maximum capitalization for trading! Well, the prospect of growth is good! this is only my opinion!
It better if you hold a ethereum and Kucoin because this two have potential to grow your coin and good to invest now. Also it will become double your coin or triple because of its value rising right now.
I think the 2 best coins are bitcoin and ethereum that have so good coins that many people are interested in those 2 coins and now bitcoin and ethereum have a high enough value so people want to get those 2 coins

Best two altcoins it is Ripple and Ethereum. See the price graph and you understand everything. Their results are looking very good. As bonus my advice for you to buy some NEM coins.
