!. Good ideas -that can improve productivity of a certain working system dramatically, Or cutting edge revolutionary technological invention that can change the life of mankind. These ideas must be readily acceptable to the concerned parties, meaning that there is a ready market.
2. The idea must be sold not only to the concerned parties but also to the public through various relevant social media channels. This would enhance the take up rate of the tokens and guarantee success of the ICO.
3. There must have a dynamic team with excellence experience in management and marketing  , and also technical members with in depth technical know how
4. A well written white paper to spell out the usage and control of the fund raise through ICO, the present and future plans, the listing of the tokens in the exchanges, the control of the tokens and the benefits of owning tokens.
5. Token capitalization- the number of issued tokens must not be so huge and disbursed that the token appreciation become minimum even the supporting business is successful.

Many members already tells which needs to see in good ICO and i think all ICO has it even scam or legit, that is why the important to me is how reliable their project is. Make dipper analysis about the project and the team who create it and how realistic their soft and hard cap. And i found these characteristics in VLB token also having good adviser is great for the team. The link is here i recommend to read their white paper for get moe information about their project http://vlb.io/

1. idea
2. softcap - hardcap
3. team
4. roadmap
5. social media.

If the idea is successful and the goal they are putting in is an achievable goal, that coin is already successful. If there are those who have already done successful jobs in the team, the potential for the new project is increasing Smiley

1. the team (must be experienced)
2. idea
3. WP (should be both meaningful and understandable)
4. token usefulness
5. softcap, hardcap (it should be possible to receive funds enough to create a product without any problems)

that's why i chose Vehicle Lifecylce Blockchain project for investing. they are fully satisfy all the requirements above.
you can take a look and see for yourself - vlb.io
Can you please help me out with some more specific information regarding VLB? I am really looking forward to the project and think its brilliant. I have gone through their white paper the old one. What's new they have brought in the project?

first of all, they decreased softcap and hardcap ($4m and $12m for now). they thought much deeper of the technological architecture of the project so  it'll be more complex design combining two types of blockhouse - a public one based on Ethereum and a closed one, which will be linked through payment channels. VLB also reviewed the value of using their detachment for participants in terms of economic theories of motivation.
everything i told you is just thesises, you can find the updated wp here and learn more.

You have to read whitepaper, team working behind the project, ICO price, Roadmap of the project and sustainability of the project. These are the main factors to check before investing in any ICO.

Product, perspective product, roadmap and activities connected to it, whitepaper(optional) and one-paper(a must), linked-in's of developers team and a serious glance on the advisors. Also I like to check the way ANN thread is made and how behave the community.
The first step is to figure out which initial coin offerings are coming up. With sites like ICOalert, developers have a place to list their upcoming pre-sale and public sale. They can also list other information like the soft cap, buy-in price and team profile.

1 we should see the sales transaction of an ico.
2 reading white paper
3 find out the progress of the project website.
4 view the policies provided by the project.
5 understand the intent and journey of its roadmap.

that way we will know whether the project is good or not and the most important thing to follow our feelings and our feelings about the potential of the project.

I think they already gave the 5 ingredients of a great ICO. As for me I look on the team's activities. Team members joining a lot of blockchain conferences and active on social media creates a big impact on investors. Its not only the product you're investing but also on the developer's expertise.

First,  any prospective ICO should not be raising too much capital initially.  The outrageous sum been raised will provide unhealthy capital slush that may distract a project and make the project team become complacent.
Second, There must be a capable team.  Third,  the project must have S product or service that really need fund they are asking for.
Fourth, There must be a face to daily activities of such project.  And lastly the ICO must not continue in perpetuity. There must be deadline and clear cut roadmap and milestone.
