I think the team and their old works are really important parameters to make a decision about an ICO. Also, I think reading the whitepaper and following the annonucements can give you ideas to make your choose.

The White Paper (this is arguably the most important piece of a serious ICO), total token supply(choose ico's with medium token supply), ratings (https://icobench.com eg) and find out everything you can about the development team.

1. Idea.
2. Token cap.
3. Team.
4. Community.
5. Hype level - something you still gotta pay attention to as far as on ICO market the bigger is hype the more chances has ICO to collect hard cap and realize their project

Most of the time, no matter how good the white paper and technical route of an ICO project is, you can see everything from the open source code of gtihub.
I suggest you look at the CARDSTACK project. Grin

I agree with most of the answers, but I'd like to add that in addition to an MVP, a good ICO should have an MVE - Minimal Viable Ecosystem - an existing network of users who utilize or plan to utilize the crypto-token in question.

I have been dealing with this issue for more than half a year, but until now I can not understand it thoroughly. How to distinguish fraud from good intentions? This is a question that no one can fully answer. This is a lottery. It is written in your family that they will deceive you - they will deceive you.

I strongly agree with most of the opinions here. In addition to all that have been mentioned, USE CASE is also a good thing to look into.

I only look for 3 thing how to know if the ICO project will succeed.

1. Project (you should know what are the people's interest today. The success of the project is simply dependent on the investment and profit of the project).
2. Team (one basis of a successful project is the development team that ready for almost everything. They know what they are doing, they know their project's progress and an ANN should provide these infos).
3. Community (the involvement of the community in the project is a big factor on the project's success. A healthy project has an active participants).

I would like to add:
even if it requires some time of studying, but - how well they deliver their targets + if they don't go back on their word ("we will do the ICO on X date", then move it 1 week later for no good reason).

There are so many ICOs that are flooding the market. Many look good on the outside, however I read so many conflicting comments for both pro and con.

So, I wanted to know what top 5 things to look for in a good ICO, so that ultimately I can decide the best ones to invest in.

Please share your thoughts and advice.
