I saw some condolences from several clubs including indeed Galatasaray which made me shocked to read this.
He is one of the defenders of the Turkish national team as well and his performance on the pitch I think is quite good, so it is certain that many people will miss this player.

Fenerbahce's past record against Adana Demirspor was not good. Today's match was Fenerbahce's home match. They should have played more carefully. But its gameplay was not good in Fenerbahce. Galatasaray parted ways with their coach Fatih Terim after winning only 1 game of their last 9 games. Therefore, all of the Big Three coaches were sacked this year. Well, all of them did very very bad and they dealt with health issues a lot, especially Besiktas. Fatih Terim was the head coach for the last 4 years and managed to get two Super League championships. I personally don't like him but they sacked him even late if you ask me. Now Fenerbahce has no official head coach and Besiktas has their junior teams head coach on the job. It is rather an interesting situation in the league. I don't think they will do but this season there is no chance any of them getting the championship title, they should just have huge rebuildings of the teams and get the young players playing. With the economic situation, I think they would have to.

And yet they could still manage to qualify for the Europa League. It is still "only" five points to rank 4, but a game more played as well so maybe 7 points to 4th. They need to start a winning streak or this is going to be one of the worst seasons in their recent history.
