Don't like those line ups linked above. It means both managers are looking not to concede goals firstly and then hoping they will manage to score some. I don't remeber Liverpool playing without 3 attackers in the last few seasons. This could backfire for them.

Vidal is playing in order to help Alba to stop Salah, he is much better defensivly than Arthur.

I am not going to lie I only watched the second half of the game fully and watched the first halfs highlights so I might be mistaking something here but did anyone else felt like Tottenham actually played a bit scared at first ? I mean maybe that is just me but semifinals really did put a lot of pressure on Tottenham more than it was for Ajax and players really played like they didn't know what to do and purely played on instinct instead of talent and tactics.

On second half they played better and game was pretty equal if you ask me, Ajax was not great at attacking for long stretches but Tottenham couldn't keep the ball for too long neither, even on 90th minute Ajax was attacking the ball on each possession like they are not tired which made it harder for Tottenham to try to get that goal. I can't say I liked the game as much as I hope I would, it was a bit disappointing.

Tottenham was completely off-beat for first 35-36 minutes. They were completely pressurized by high pressing and energy level of Ajax players (what else could you expect when you have 19 years old captain:D). But once they made a change (rather a forced one) and Sissoko was introduced, they started looking more organized. Special mention to Lucas Moura who single handedly took ball in Ajax penalty two times before half time. This surely boosted Tottenham's confidence in second half and they played good football. With Son returning for second leg, I think one goal deficit is surely salvageable. But nothing could be said about Teens on the other side, they are filled with unmatched stamina and have nothing to lose.

Match Preview:

Quote
Five-time winners Barcelona may have smashed a Champions League (CL) record after notching up a 31-game unbeaten home streak (W28, D3), but they now take on a team they have never beaten at the Camp Nou (D2, L2) as Liverpool travel to Catalonia hunting a sixth European Cup.

However the hosts are justified favourites having won their last five competitive home games - four of them ‘to nil’ - whilst scoring an impressive eight goals across their last two CL fixtures held here. Furthermore, Barca have been winning at half-time in all five of their CL home games this season, winning 2-0 at the break in the last two.

The Spanish giants can get a further morale boost considering they have lost just one of their previous 15 European games against English opposition (W11, D3, L1). However Liverpool can take solace from the fact they are the only English side to have ever beaten Barcelona at home (twice) in European competition (Barca vs English teams: W21, D11, L2).

In-form Liverpool are on a ten-match winning run (in all competitions), although they registered a clean sheet in just four of those games. In fact both teams have scored in their last three CL away matches (W2, L1), with Liverpool grabbing a first-half goal in each fixture.

Players to watch: Lionel Messi got a brace in Barcelona’s last two CL home games – he netted the opener in four of the five CL fixtures he’s scored in this term.

Mo Salah’s double at the weekend took his tally to 69 goals in 100 appearances – a club record for a Liverpool player after 100 games.

Stat attack: Barca have scored 3+ goals in seven of their last ten CL home fixtures.

Four of Liverpool’s last five competitive away victories involved both teams scoring.

Six of the eight competitive H2Hs have featured under 2.5 goals.

Tottenham were pretty bad in the first half - yes. I think they had only about 35-40% ball possession. They played better in the 2nd half but couldn't create much offensively. I think mostly because of Llorente, who is excellent in the air but quite stationary overall. Ajax defended in a very aggressive manner, especially in the 1st half where Tottenham couldn't move the ball out of their half.

Just less than hour until Barca - Liverpool. It will be so difficult match for Barca and it's bad that we will play first leg game at home. I hope that we will win tonight. And it would be perfect to not let Liverpool to score away goal. Suarez and Coutinho will play against their former team for the first time.
I am happy that it's an away match for Liverpool. We will need at - least a draw with a goal. A win will be bonus for us. 🙂

However I would like Liverpool to play their own game. Just empty the head and forget your opponent. Attack, take control of the ball and perform. I hope we execute successfully whatever plan the coach has tonight.

~snip~

First of all I was planning only to watch the game yesterday, than I've made two bets on OVER GOALS (3.5 & 2.5), of course I've lost both....

So today, I will really only watch the Barca - Liver match, and relax

I wanna see those two in the final:

Ajax vs. Liverpool Cool
I would like to see this too. But before that we have big match coming in only less than an hour. I am all in for Liverpool. Big match guys. We at least need a draw however a win will be more than we expect.

I am all in for my team. Placed a bet in Draw no bet market for Liverpool.

Come on Liverpool!

I took Liverpool win @3.90. Even though I know Barcelona have an impressive record at home (+30 games unbeaten in the CL), I feel like with this in-form Liverpool, a win is possible. Draw with goals @4.35 isn't that bad either.

Massive game for my beloved LFC tonight, I expect it to be a really tough game. I would happily get the fuck out of Camp Nou with a draw, preferably a score draw so we get a precious away goal or two.
I thought you were in Spain, was expecting some pics from you at the Camp Nou  Cheesy
Liverpool perform beautifully in their previous match in the UEFA league against the Barcelona but with what I'm seeing in tonight game is something different from the two team previous meet and Barcelona will this evening game by two goals.

Tonight it's totally a different mood. I hope we win.

Congrats to Ajax, bad luck for the missed opportunity to score the second goal by the end of the second half, around the '80 minute
Tottenham played an awful game, like they was doing a friendly game, not a semi final CL  Huh

I'm expecting from the young Ajax team to beat them at home at least with 3 goals of difference

The lineups for both teams has been released, and Firminho is absent for the visitor, both the most noticeable change for host in my opinion is inclusion of Arturo Vidal, instead of Arthur Melo who has been preferred for most of the season, The perhaps the coach is opting for some power over creativity.

Make no mistake, it is going to be tense. Klopp guarantees we'll suffer, but we'll make sure our old boys suffer too! I can't remember if Messi was in the last Barca team we played (Ronaldinho was!) but it will be a good way to show Suarez and especially Coutinho what they're missing out on. No ill wishes of course, they didn't dump us Sterling style.

Actually I think I read somewhere that Messi is the only player from both teams who will be in staring 11 today and has played that game. I heard some rumors that Firminho will not play today which is a big handicap for Liverpool side. Hope it was just part of pre match mind games since I would to see both teams at their absolute best tonight.

Lately I saw some articles about incredible stats from Van Dijk, namely that nobody managed to dribble past him in the last 40ish games. Can't help to think that this is another story in the making. After seeing this, Messi will surly try to see what the fuss is all about and tomorrow we will read  praises about whoever comes on top in that duel.

Playing as host team Barcelona have to optimize their advantages and i think they do not want to lost such as first semifinal match that Tottenham lost on their home ground but obviously sportbooks will provide to them low odds and last time i was checked the odds for Barcelona @1.72 and the odds for Liverpool was @4.2 through onehash.com
I just checked on another site and had different odds, the odds for Barcelona @1.90 and the odds for Liverpool @4.05 at the time of writing. I think if we look at the poll it looks like Barcelona is indeed being favored and that is a good odds to bet if you are sure Barcelona can win in this match. Btw, I was surprised by Ajax who was able to defeat Spurs in his home. Cheesy

It seems that the odds for Barcelona is keep moving up, I just checked at Fortunejack the odds for Barcelona is 1.94 and Liverpool 4.02
To be honest, this match makes me confuse which to bet as I believe both team are on their best this season. I want to see Liverpool to be this season finalist, but today they are going to be away team. So I think double chance X2 @1.94 is worth to try.

Liverpool is in a great form while Barcelona has no good competitors to practice with. English teams always have an edge over spanish teams. Even a Draw in Camp Nou would be a win for Liverpool but for a bet, I'd go with a low scoring game.

Playing as host team Barcelona have to optimize their advantages
Looking trough some statistics liverpool won the last 4 matches they played away meeting barcelona.
Lets hope on some fire tonight from both teams.

Indeed, nothing more than head to head fight between Barcelona and Liverpool tonight. Although, Liverpool are strong; but here, let put the advantage of Home which could make Barcelona defeat Liverpool, let hope Barcelona are able to defeat them to claim the trophy this season.  Cheesy

This game could be the final game of the Champions League this year.
I don't expect that Liverpool is going to qualify against Barcelona. Messi is going to rekt Liverpool's defense and I am going to be that he will score 2 goals.

This all depends on how Liverpool will play and who will play. Everyone knows Barcelona's playing style and the depth of their squad. If Liverpool scores, and keep the score close (in case they lose), it's going to be a good result.

I've put a small bet on Liverpool, I hope they win  Grin

Let's get supporters of liverpool!

I am more happy with Liverpool Liverpool who can win tonight. Indeed this match is difficult, Barcelona is not a small club but I still believe this match must be very interesting. Plus if the liverpool can be balanced or even win at the Camp Nou, that is certainly extraordinary. Still confident in Liverpool can fight Barcelona.
