Man city really showed what they are made of tonight, for not  allowing Real Madrid to defeat them, instead of a defeat, man city settled for a draw. This is a good result for city as they will be taking advantage of the second leg at home. The second leg should be a payback time to Real Madrid, because last year they sent city home from the semifinals. Real Madrid is the league favourite and this makes them more experienced in the league than city but I don't think that city will give it up to them the second time. What a classic equaliser goal from De Bruyne to still keep the city on track. So many yellow cards in the game Grealish and Carvajal were rivals in the match. One mistake that Real Madrid did was that they forgot how dangerous De Bruyne is and they put all their focus on Haaland
The truth is that the UEFA championship this season belongs to Manchester City, and even though their performance in today's match was a little bit out of formation, because for them to have allowed Real Madrid to obtain a 1 goal lead up till the second half of the match shows how weak their defense and attacking position are, because of not for luck that was on their side there could have not equalized the goal and the match could have ended in 1:0 in favor of Madrid.
They lack experience, and I'm not sure why Pep didn't make a substitution when the team was down and needed some force on the right wing, he's known for gambling with his team when it matters, and what he did today just proves that, his lucky to have gotten a point in Spain, it might not be the same story in the return leg, he needs to be careful of Real Madrid, CL is their playground, and they know how to cause upset when least expected. If they can beat Real Madrid, I don't see any other team stopping them from winning the trophy.

Real Madrid and Manchester City were evenly matched. Both teams did a good job of playing and defending against the opponent. Haaland was entirely knocked out of the game. He doesn't put the defense of Real Madrid under much pressure. Real Madrid would have won if it weren't for Kelvin Bruyne's goal, which drew the game.

A draw is preferable to a defeat for Manchester City. Real Madrid was playing at home, therefore I was expecting at least a win or a draw for them. Because no matter how excellent a team is better than them, they hardly ever lose in champions league matches at home.

Manchester City needs to win the champions league at all costs, and must now demonstrate this in the second leg. Real Madrid must continue to play strong defense like they did today, otherwise, Manchester City will overwhelm them with goals.

Manchester city was quite dominating the match over real madrid at that match. Real madrid was able making goal from vini and city from de bruyne. As you can see that if how city was always using de bruyne as the key player.
The next leg gonna be even harder for real madrid caused by it was not able maximizing the chance. I think that the winner from this leg gonna face intermilan in the final. Intermilan is also very strong team right now.

Italian team is still having chance to win UCL this season. It's quite disappointing result from real madrid at this moment.
If it's not curtois and real madrid may be losing against city. Curtois is very good keeper who was blocking any shots that came from city.

Two powerful goals tonight from the brazilian and then also the belgian, the build up to city's goal was supposed to be checked by car but they failed to do that. Kevin with the assist of gundogan helped to equalize the match.

Both City and Madrid gave hundred percent tonight, it is the best result for the night, officiating officials was really not at their neutral best tonight. Arsenal fans supporting Madrid is something that made me laugh.

Two beautiful goals scored by both sides. Goals scored by precise hard shots. I don’t think the goal scored by Manchester City needed a VAR check. Both teams gave their all and managed to each score a goal. I had expected more goals in the game but both sides held their own and defended like crazy.
Arsenal fans supporting Real Madrid is in my opinion, only natural. Obviously Arsenal fans aren’t happy with Man City overtaking and going ahead of them in the first place on the EPL table. So I guess they would gladly support the opposition.

I for one would love to see Manchester City win the Champions League. The second leg would hopefully turn out in City’s favor.

Yes in the second half players Real Madrid were better. They are lucky in the first half Thibaut Courtois played very well, he saved some good opportunity that Manchester City had, but Kevin De Bruyne's shot in the second half was so fast he couldn't reach it. With this draw results, indeed Manchester City have an advantage because in the second leg they will be playing at home. The possibility for Real Madrid to win at there is very small, because previously Bayern Munich also can defeated with score 3-0.

How does troubled Bayern have anything to do with Real Madrid's chances? I don't think the analogy is appropriate here. The city will have a small advantage at home, but the pressure on them will be huge - they remember last year and all the previous years when they fell in the very late stages and still never won this tournament. Besides, a draw on the road doesn't mean anything right now, so the teams will be even in terms of the score.
City has a lot to do even though the return leg will be played at home for them,  but even at that, the chances for Manchester City to win at home are still slim, and judging from the history of Madrid vs City encounters,  it always ends in real Madrid favour, but all the same, since football is full of unexpected results, it's no longer easy to predict match results at this stage of the champion league.

But I still have high hopes for Manchester city to lift the trophy in this season, because they are better prepared than any other team in this season, and that can be seen in their game's performance.,  e.g today's match where Manchester city was able to take such an equalization in the second half of the match.

Real Madrid and Manchester City had to leave the field at the last minute with a 1:1 draw after performing brilliantly. Here in the Champions League, neither Real Madrid nor Manchester City have won the first leg of the semi-final.  In the first half, Real Madrid went ahead with a great goal by Vinicius, but in the second half, Cabin de Bruyne equalized the team with a great performance. However, many could not make any good predictions based on this game. I also could not give any prediction about who this match will be. Due to which I did not dare to participate in betting on this match. But today's match could never have imagined that it would end in a draw.  I thought Real Madrid would win this match today because they had a very good start.

Real Madrid were much more effective at defending tonight unliked my expectation. There was Rüdiger in the defense line as well and I was doubting his performance. Because he hasn't been performing very consistently. However he defended Haaland in a really strong way. Alaba also prevented Haaland from scoring a goal by a big chance. The defense did a great job in this match as a result.
I didn't expect a draw from this match, I had hopes that Real Madrid would manage to pull out a win out of this first leg but, Manchester City understood the risk of letting Real Madrid have the first leg advantage.  The great whites aren't a team to hope on a come back from, as they can go ahead to undo you in the second half. This makes this first leg draw a good days  work for Pep and his boys.
De Bruyne is this good, comes through in big games, just when everyone else is having difficulty and it's game on for them in the second leg. It's not going to be any easy with Real Madrid going to the Etihad. Eliminating 2 EPL teams at there home would be the worst Real Madrid would do this season.

What a wonderful game of football from both Real Madrid and Manchester City, now i can't wait for the second leg, another 90 minutes (and possibly 30 mins of extra time, plus penalties) to decide this tie and find out which of the two teams is going to the final in Istanbul. If i am to pick who was the better side tonight, i'd say it was Real Madrid, City held more of the possession, but they didn't look too dangerous when they got close to Madrid's box, but whenever Madrid approached City's box, it felt like something was going to happen (i don't know if it was because of the noise the fans were making). Well, at the Etihad City have the home advantage and hopefully their fans can come out and cheer them to victory.

The two clubs played a fantastic match today, the two clubs score a very nice goal, the two club played a shot from distance to score their 1 goal, I wasn't expecting shot from Vinicius Junior, but he played a shot and Manchester city goal keeper tried his best to save it but unfortunately he couldn't, also De Bruyne K. Played a shot and I don't think their is any way in which Real Madrid goal keep can save the ball from scoring. The first leg of the game has ended successfully and the two club went away with 1 goal each, let's see what will happen in the second leg.

For Manchester City, they should not be so proud drawing a game with Real Madrid that everyone knows that are not as good as Manchester City are this season. If Manchester City are struggling to beat Real Madrid when they're not playing so well it means that they cannot beat Real Madrid on the day they played so well. Camavinga started at the back for Real Madrid, in the second leg, it is possible that he will play in DMF. Toni Kroos may also not start.

I feel like there is a good chance City could win in the second game, that's a good thing that they got a tie in the first game when it was at Madrid. But I still think that there is a bit of an issue right now with what we have, it just doesn't feel like they played to their full strength. I mean think about it, Haaland had nearly no good positions, he had one header that was directly to goalkeeper, and he had one shot deflected by defense, but he created no big threat at all. I feel like Real suddenly became much better, and this is a troubling alarm for City. They need to look a lot better, dominate a lot more as well. Look at the first half hour of the game, how much better they were, and look at the other hour, they were not very close to each other. Real is great and all, but if City wants to win then they can't have any doubt in their minds.

I think Real Madrid should keep up with their strong defense. If possible the coach should change formation to increase the number of defenders and rely on the speed and skill of Vinicius for counterattacks and to capitalize on any blunder by the City team. Winning this match one zero will be a big win for Real. They will go to Emirates Stadium and play for a draw.

Do you expect Real Madrid to play defensively instead of their usual open play? I still hope that Manchester City can win this game even if Real Madrid plays any strategy, and now Manchester City can find a goal after several attempts. Kevin De Bruyne scored just as well as Vinicius, and I think their spirits will only get better for the rest of the second half. Haaland hasn't found a goal yet and I hope he can find one before the end of the match.
In football, you don't stick to one strategy. The coach is expected to change the formation of his team to suit each game or period. Real Madrid came all out in the second half of the game and created more goal-scoring opportunities. Kevin De Bruyne has given Manchester City the needed morale at least, they won't be under pressure in their home ground. Real defense ensures that Haaland is starved of goal-scoring opportunities. We watched two good teams that produced two world-class goals. The game is now open for both teams and the winner of this encounter will likely be the European Champions.

I was not so much excited by tonight's match. I expected something more spectacular in terms of goals. I expected to seen HT Ov2.5 goals but it didn't happen.
It was Vinicius who made me love the play because of his driving force to move forward no matter who is at the defense.
Another brilliant player was Grealish and he played very well and Kelvin did not gamble his chances as he was always attentive throughout the match.
Manchester City has more advantage because the returning match will be at Etihad.

No, there was too much on the line for both teams and nobody would deny that. Only because the names are Real Madrid and Manchester City doesn't mean that it is going to end with 5 or 6 goals. Also remember that Real Madrid hasn't been an offensively playing team for a very long time now. It is not the Real Madrid that scores 3 to 4 goals on average per game over the course of a whole season.

It was a very strategic game and it was what I thought it would be. Real Madrid had some more dangerous situation in the Man City box and Man City dominated the game in about 60% of the game. But I have to say that Real Madrid really had their scenes as well. They weren't weaker in total.

The draw favors Man City a little bit, but since the goals away count double rule is gone, this is practically a start from zero in Manchester and Real Madrid is able to score at any point in time. If that happens, Man City will have a hard time to turn the game around even in their home stadium.

Bottom line of the game is that we have seen two impressive goals and a game that made appetite for more. Next week no team can decide that a draw is fine. We will see even more aggressive attacking from both teams.

But De Bruyne finally scored a goal which was the kind we have been used to watch from him. He was also not very effective in this match actually just as Haaland. His passes and crosses weren't that much good. But this goal is very valuable for his team in the rematch. Because I think Manchester City's getting at least a draw here was nice for them.

Because I don't think Real Madrid can defeat Manchester City in Etihad.

What a magnificent goal from De Bruyne on the 67th minites to equalise the game for his side. It was a good second half for city as they were able to put themselves back into the game, after the first half. Manchester city really tried their best in this match because all the players played 90mins with no substitute.

It was a very good clean strike from De Bruyne to help his side get a goal and equalize. With the goal, they managed to put themselves back into the game. Both sides played really well, especially Madrid. I think they had really pressured Manchester City and if Manchester City had slacked even for a second, Madrid would have taken that opportunity to net another one.

During the final moments of the game, Madrid increased the pressure on City goal and tried to score but Manchester City tried in holding their own till the end to his going away with a draw. Better a draw than a loss right?
The second leg would be even more interesting as Madrid would have to travel over to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg of the game. Perhaps we could see a City win in the second leg.

Indeed match have draw but most appreciated for Real Madrid's with sold defensive, Antonio Rudiger success given huge pressure for Haaland and he faced difficult for getting left space and created attempt.
I personally feel that this result is more of a success for Manchester City than for Real Madrid considering that even with the Home Advantage that Real Madrid had they still ended the game in a draw waiting for the second leg in England which will be a much more difficult test for them. I noticed that Pep did not make any changes in the game, It is clear that he knows that his club has mnay games and do not need for all his players to be fatigued. Manchester City have more options on the bench than Real Madrid, and this same starting line up will be the same team that will play Manchester City in the Etihad, Manchester City may make some changes.

Real Madrid came out defensively strong today, they rarely attacked in the first half but maybe they were better in the second half. They led 1-0, but now changed after Manchester City scored a goal so the possibility of a draw is getting bigger as a result of the first leg. It will work in Manchester City's favour, as they will be playing the second leg at home, and will probably win it in front of their home crowd.

Overall I think Real Madrid played better. In the first half of the match, they allowed Manchester City to high press and possess the match while they were soaking the pressure and immediately the opportunity came, they utilized it by scoring.
In the second half they came playing up field and has better possession of the game but the brilliance of Kelvin Debruyne settled the game with a draw. Real Madrid will play the second leg of the tie at Etihad and they'll play he game with the mentality of making sure they beat City

Man City may have the advantage to play in the next match, and this draw seems good for them. However, I don't think Real Madrid will have less chance to win in the next match. Real Madrid often surprises us in UCL, they sometimes get a draw at home but they can win in away matches. So, it is not a big problem for Real Madrid whether to play at home or away. As long as all the key players of Real Madrid are available for the next match, they will play all out to reach the final round. I'm sure this draw result isn't the end of Real Madrid dream for a final round.  Wink
