Most people are predicting that Manchester City will win the Champions League because of their recent form and quality. Truly they deserve it based on quality players and the technical acumen of their coach.
It makes sense why many people predict that this season Manchester City can win the Champions League title.
The depth of squad Manchester City have and form is a good factor to account for, but of course things can still change. Haaland, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Grealish are key players who can actually make a lot of difference to Manchester City's game. This team has built a good mentality after they failed in the previous few seasons, so maybe it's time for this team to claim its first title in the Champions League.
But the last time City played in the finals was in 2021 against Chelsea. Chelsea had more shots on target but City was the better team. They had more ball possession and created more attacking runs. Yet they still lost the game by just one goal. Although City's attack is more dangerous than what it was three years ago, I am not ruling out the same kind of game in this finals. If Inter gets a goal first, the match might be played in the Inter half because all their players will turn to defenders.
Pep Guardiola was blamed for the loss to Chelsea because of his strategy and wrong payers selection. Especially for featuring Edouard Mendy instead of starting the more reliable Rodri or Fernandinho, I hope he doesn't make another technical blunder.
Manchester City's failure in the 2021 final hurts, of course and they should have learned from it. This season Pep and his players need to be very confident to win the title that the team and fans have been waiting for the most, so I hope the prediction is correct and they can prove it.
Without taking Inter lightly, I think Manchester City are the better team and that's how it should be. The probability of winning must be commensurate with the result they will get in the final.
