Well, the first UEFA Champions League 2023/2024 matchday has just ended. There was a lot of exciting drama, a shower of goals, surprises, even a saving goal from a goalkeeper on this first matchday.

One thing that stands out is Arsenal's 4-0 victory over PSV and Barcelona's 5-0 victory over Royal Antwerp. There was also a rain of goals in the Bayern Munich vs Man United match which was marked by a blunder by the MU goalkeeper, Onana. Finally, many voices emerged, was it right to buy Onana??
There is a lot of criticism of Manchester United and Onana is one of them who is blamed, but in my opinion he should not be blamed alone, indeed in the match against Bayern Onana did not perform well but Manchester United's performance has been bad in the last few matches, so in my opinion it is not only Onana, however, everyone in the Manchter United squad must be responsible for their poor performance in the UCL and in their domestic league.

It's funny to read multi-page discussions about how Real Madrid lacks a strong striker (I pretty much agree with this by the way). I just remember the era of Ronaldo and how he was criticized “for empty-net goals”, “he’s just a finisher”, etc. That is, he was literally criticized for doing his job Grin For some reason, it turns out that if a team does not have a good finisher, then all the work of the midfield can often be useless.
But as for Real this season, I think with Vinicius on the field and Bellingham, the available strikers will be enough. The main thing is that injuries do not affect the squad that Ancelotti has assembled.

Honestly I was worried about Real Madrid's performance for this season before it started. Because I thought they would surely bring a striker such as Vlahovic to have a more reliable attacking line. But they didn't and I had doubts about their season. However the current look of them is way different than I imagined.

Bellingham is really playing like not only a midfielder but also a striker right now. He is already top scorer in the squad. Even in Vinicius' presence in the lineup Bellingham is coming one step forward thanks to his high effort.

Because of this situation I also started to think Vinicius - Rodrygo (or Joselu) duo in the attacking line will be good enough.
with players like Vinicius, Bellingham, Rodrygo and Joselu, I think Real Madrid is truly perfect. I mean some people might initially be very worried about how Madrid will give a strong performance this season but it turns out that Ancelotti has indeed played an important role as a coach who provides a very strong line up as we always see in every match. even seeing Bellingham performance really impresses us if He plays an important role as a midfielder and also plays a role as a striker who always finish very well.

If we previously imagined that Madrid would really get Mbappe from the transfer market at that time, Madrid would definitely be stronger because of Mbappe excellent contribution with his running speed and collaboration with Bellingham tactical intelligence which would build a very perfect strength for Real Madrid and me. will be waiting for news about Mbappe actually coming to Real Madrid.

Many astonishing things happened such as the loud victory of Arsenal against PSV. But that of Barcelona wasn't a surprise to me as I didn't even bother to view the match.  Antwerp is no where a match to FC Barcelona, so I expected the loud victory.
Coming to Manchester United, even if Onana accepted the blame of losing the match, I so much applaud Manchester United for fighting so well in the match. Tbh, I didn't expect Manchester United to win the match against Bayern Munich, but on a second thought, sharing the points would have been a good result for Manchester United if their goalie was stable.
When you are in the Champions League stage, you have to learn to minimise mistakes.

I think it was the wrong decision to bring Onana to Old Trafford and even though in the end his performance was not as expected, Erik ten Hag also has to take full responsibility for the series of defeats suffered by Manchester United. Onana was only good at Inter last season and at Manchester United he has been the source of endless problems so far.

It is very regrettable why David De Gea had to leave Manchester United, even though his performance last season was very stable as the main goalkeeper. There isn't even the slightest good intention from Erik ten Hag or management to keep him. If we look at the statistics of David De Gea vs Onana in the early season match with Manchester United, there we know that Manchester United made a mistake by releasing David De Gea.

UCL is still remains hard to predict. I remember barcelona's case last season when the team was almost qualifying for the playstage but intermilan was just destroying barcelona at the last match day. The same thing can happen with PSG if enrique's team will not be careful in facing newcastle and acmilan. PSG needs to make sure if its performance will always be stable in any matches.
Enrique needs to make sure its club can handle the current performance when it will face newcastle and acmilan. It doesn't matter if the club is only relying on mbappe as long as PSG will able to go to the play off stage.
Mbappe deserves a lot of praises caused by he was the only one who is helping the club so much while the rest are still lack of contribution to the club.
It's true that I have to agree that Mbappe is like carrying PSG alone, and the French striker deserves the appreciation he deserves. Luis Enrique certainly has a tough task to get PSG through the group phase, because we know that Group F is more difficult than the other groups. Now PSG has a slight advantage after the first matchday of the group phase, when AC Milan and Newcastle drew. PSG is 2 points away. It's true that at the moment it is still very difficult to predict the overall favorite club, but I think when the UCL enters the semi-finals I think it will be easier.

PSG next match in Ligue 1 will bring them together with Marsielle, even though it looks easy, so far Aubameyang and his friends are still unbeaten in Ligue 1. The battle for top position will be determined in that match i think, Nice now leads with 12 points in peak.

Yeah group F will be the attention of all groups because there are 4 elite clubs, we don't know how the second match will go and every club can take advantage of the opportunity when playing at home. Newcastle was actually a little lucky because they got one point even though they were playing away, our question is whether they will be able to get more points when PSG comes as away team? we will see it on October 5 and usually PSG always has difficulty when playing away.

Anything about PSG is still remain unsafe until PSG would able to create huge point gaps to the competitors. There are still some clubs like newcastle and acmilan that would be the main threats for PSG.
It's caused by milan and newcastle potentially to finish at the first and second place. This is just the first match day. There will be more to come soon. PSG needs to well prepared to face acmilan and newcastle caused by these clubs are far strongers compared with dortmnud at this moment.
Psg may also lose points when the club was facing those clubs. I hope that if enrique would have learned a lot from the previous match.

I agree with you, all teams have just played one match of course we can't conclude who is better and we have to wait until the 3-4 match
PSG indeed started with a good start but it was a home match to prove that they are one of the best, they must be able to win away games

Keep in mind that currently the competition in the Champions League is to continue to qualify, so the solution is to win, whether narrowly or by just 1 goal. Like it or not, Newcastle and AC Milan have each suffered 1 loss, whether they are considered as strong or not as strong as last season. Then PSG took first place and in the next match against Newcastle, even though the final result was a draw, PSG still secured 1 match while Newcastle lost 2 important matches. That's the scheme if you still feel safe from a draw. The limited number of matches remaining means the clubs in the UCL need to put pressure on themselves. Because here the competition for group winners and runners up becomes a test of a club's motivation.

PSG is still not safe, but at least they are quite good with winning points in the first match. After that, there will be Milan and Newcastle, who previously played to a draw. both will probably be more difficult than facing Dortmund.
So all possibilities can still happen, but PSG has already gained an advantage. depending on their play when facing other teams in the group. PSG will probably qualify, but as group winners or not we won't know, the opportunity is still wide open for all the teams in this hellish group.
None of the teams that won in this first match are safe, because with five matches still to be played, anything could happen, especially for a group like where PSG is, where all teams have the same chance, seeing that their strengths are not much different, except for a few groups that are It's predictable who will qualify and fall, but group F is quite difficult to predict.
But winning against Dortmund is their capital to move forward more easily in the next match because Dortmund is a strong team and beating them when playing in Paris is a must for PSG who will certainly face an even more difficult level of resistance when they have to go to Germany against Dortmund, and successfully winning without conceding is a good thing, and in approximately 11 days we will face Newcatsle at St. James Park is another new challenge for PSG who have never faced Newcastle in a match before.

Benzema was not always become the solution for the forward position of real madrid. If the club was not doing regeneration and what's happening with real madrid if benzema announced to retire in the future?
Benzema's era in real madrid already finished. We must move on. Ancellotti has found someone who is capable enough in helping real madrid as good as benzema. Bellingham has become the best recruitmen by real madrid so far.

He has been fulfilling people's expectation by helping the club in winning the game in the difficult condition. Benzema is the past story of real madrid. Real Madrid has recruited skilled players, even though some are injured.
Real madrid was not being trapped under benzema's name. He was great striker ever owned by real madrid but time flies and everything must also follow the situation that is happening right now.

Did you mean madrid need to buy mbappe?
You are right, Real Madrid has carried out regeneration to build a squad with young players. Vini, Rodrygo and Bellingham are Real Madrid's future projects. Just look at Real Madrid's performance in carrying out regeneration where they make this development even better in every transfer window. Even this season, Real Madrid has strengthened their midfield and they have succeeded in doing this. So this winter Real Madrid can prioritize looking for good quality stickers to help them achieve their targets this season.

Benzema is old and often suffers from ongoing injuries, so it is only right that Benzema go to an easier league. Real Madrid management and Ancelotti are focusing on young players to form a stronger squad for the upcoming season. Even though this season they only rely on Joselu, their big contribution can be seen from players who are projected for the long term, such as Bellingham. Joselu for temporary before Real Madrid recruited Mbappe.

Real madrid just need to buy a young talented striker. Mbappe has already projected to be the most suitable replacement for real madrid.  The club needs to wait for him until he will be able to leave from there with a free agent instead of paying a half of billion money for him.
Real madrid is slowly but surely rebuilding the puzzle against after so many great players have been leaving from there. It's now the time for real madrid to slowly getting the best players in forming another los galacticos again.
I believe that the memory of Los Galacticos winning the UCL three times in a row under Zidane's guidance is something that can be recalled by anyone with great clarity. Real madrid is trying to build the same thing like that.
We will see that who's gonna be the new striker for real madrid in january. I think that ancellotti has some names on his consideration.

The complain about the strength of Real Madrid attacking force is no news as we can see but it's interesting to know that the still win games regardless. Vinicius who happens to be one of the strong forces in the attacking line of Real Madrid happens to be injured and until he is back Real Madrid have to find away around their attack in the meantime.
Yes, Vini JR's absence due to injury certainly affected Real Madrid's performance, especially in big matches in the UCL. But fortunately, they have a replacement whose performance is quite good, namely Joselu. At least he has been able to contribute quite well in La Liga, although maybe in the UCL he hasn't been very optimal, at least he isn't too bad as a substitute for Vini JR. And I hear rumors that Vini has started training again and his condition is getting better. So, for the UCL match against Napoli later, Real Madrid can be even more prepared. Even though we know, however, Real Madrid is still not as strong as before. but that doesn't mean Real Madrid is a weak team. No. because they still have good consistency and performance, especially since Ancelotti really knows how to optimize his squad in every match.
Joselu was not suitable to play as a winger but real madrid foces him to play in that position caused by the club has no good attacker remaining that can replace him at this moment. Bellingham can act as attacking midfielder and central attackers while joselu was helping from the sideline.
Ancellotti needs to rotate its attacking position caused by real madrid doesn't have someone who is capable enough in helping the club to fill vacant spot owned by vini. I think that anyone knows if real madrid has not left from its crisis.
So many players were injured and vini was also still a few weeks away from being able to play again. That's why ancellotti needs to think so hard how to get a good rotation with the only available players in the club.
This is the hardest thing to think caused by madrid had numerous limitations on its players. Glad to see bellingham could play in the versatile position.

Carlo Ancelotti, with his great experience, knows how to manage the team in critical moments of the season, Real Madrid is a great team but has few alternatives in attack, and I think this hasn't happened for at least 20 years. Having let Benzema leave without having a replacement of the same caliber I don't think was an excellent choice! Joselu doesn't excite me much, he's an excellent player but in my opinion he still has to demonstrate his real value. But this is just my thought, Real Madrid will continue to be a top team in the years to come.
Real Madrid is a club for beauty football and they usually focus on their attacking area more than defensive area. With that strategy, Real Madrid have more attacking star players than defensive midfielders and defenders. They usually have abundant options at their front line but this season, losing Benzema when they did not have much time to buy good strikers to replace him. It is about time and money as well as their interest in Mbappe. They want to have Mbappe and feel like they can wait one more season to get him.

Eventually, Joselu is their choice as a temporary replacement for Benzema in the mean time of waiting Mbappe who is expected to join them next summer. So far, Joselu plays at acceptable level and Real Madrid attacking system will be better when Vinicius returns to their squad.

Vini JR's absence undoubtedly affected the match somewhat badly for Real Madrid so Real Madrid did not turn out to be a poor performing team. Joselu Vini JR is doing quite well as a replacement and all the other players are playing their best from their positions and so far Real Madrid are unbeaten in Champions League and La Liga with this team so if we say Real Madrid's performance is bad then it would be wrong. Karim Benzema has left Real Madrid and we can leave Real Madrid behind but we can't understand this lack if Vini JR is back with the team.

Real Madrid have got a player like Jude Bellingham so they have no reason to worry about anything else. Real Madrid is still a strong team in the Champions League and La Liga so any opponent will plan hard against Real Madrid no matter how strong the opponent is.

Being good in the group stage doesn't mean if PSG will able to pass the play off stage easily. I meant some powerful clubs were getting easier run this season like real madrid and barcelona. These clubs already projected to go to the play off stage easily caused by there was no strong competitor on its group. Real madrid and barcelona were dominating its group as well as the other team like bayern, etc. The play off stage will present several challenges for PSG as they face numerous strong clubs. Winning against dortmund was not enough to be a proof if PSG was strong to face the play off stage.
PSG is not yet safe caused by it's still the first match day of UCL. PSG's position can also be back again to the bottom. I think that the same story will repeat for PSG.
I expect nothing from PSG at this moment. The club was even weaker compared to when neymar and messi were there.

I agree with you, PSG is not safe in the group stage. Winning at home is not enough, at least PSG must get points when playing away while PSG's competitors are strong teams except Newcastle because they are newcomers. Dortmund and Milan are teams that are always there in this phase of course it's not easy to beat them, especially when playing at home, PSG only chance of getting points when playing away is against Newcastle with an additional 1 point is enough.

Anything about PSG is still remain unsafe until PSG would able to create huge point gaps to the competitors. There are still some clubs like newcastle and acmilan that would be the main threats for PSG.

I don't follow the events in the Spanish championship much, but lately by sporadically watching some Real Madrid matches you can notice a noticeable drop in the quality of their attack, I believe that a strong striker like Kane would be of great use to Real Madrid, Vinicius and Bellingham, however strong they are not they have the qualities of a real striker, Ancelotti must also hope that serious injuries do not occur, since he would not have much choice in how to replace them

Real Madrid still lack that finishing touch that is needed from a top striker since they lack a good player in that position. Joselu is trying is best I must commend him but I still think they haven’t felt much of his contribution as a striker that Benzema was rendering before he left. This would be a big problem to many of the top teams to lack such an important player in the squad, but Ancelotti has being able to manage this all along and still coming out victorious in most of his matches played so far. Bellingham to me is doing a double work, from the midfield to the attacker role of finishing the game. With a striker in place, they will play much better and win more goals because most of the assists will be given to the experienced striker to just finish the game for them instead of the midfielders coming to do the job themself.

Real Madrid are competitive and fierce in games. They have everything balance in the team except for the frontline, a good finisher like Robert Lewandowski in Barcelona or Erling Haaland in Manchester City. Perhaps Carlo Ancelotti will some signings in next transfer window. The exits of Karim Benzema affected the performance and goal scoring of Los Blancos, they're struggling to net goals however they constantly record stellar performance. With the presence of Jude Bellingham who's trying his best to suit in the picture of an attacker, I must compliment him because the work load is heavy and he keeps delivering interms of crucial moments.

I'm afraid Onana is really a wrong choice for Manchester United at the moment. I wasn't expecting him to perform like this when he first came here honestly. Because you must all know how he performed for Inter last season. He increased his market value quite high after that performance. This improved the expectations from him when he arrived at Manchester United.

However he is still making simple mistakes. The first goal he conceded last night was really embarrassing. A goalkeeper at this level shouldn't make this kind of a mistake. I think Onana won't last too long in the starting eleven if he continues like this.
Of course, such mistakes are never expected from a goalkeeper like him but he is human so he has to take this mistake naturally because mistakes are human. Maybe we can now think that if he had not made such mistakes in the beginning, maybe Manchester United could have gone ahead in this match or Manchester United could have left the field with a draw. If we are Manchester United supporters, we should be satisfied with the way Manchester United performed. The small mistakes that Manchester United made against Bayern Munich certainly cannot be made in the next match. We need to learn from the mistakes of the match against Bayern Munich and replace those mistakes in the next match. Manchester United will be back again and strong in the next Champions League match.
If a mistake is made repeatedly, it is no longer referred to as a mistake but rather as an attitude.
What baffles me is how Onana has recently performed poorly in matches. Since he goalkeeping for Manchester United, he has allowed roughly 12 goals. De Gea's goalkeeping career did not begin this way when he joined Manchester United of new. However, as you can see, Onana is off to a poor start. Imagine what will happen to him if he spends many seasons at Manchester United (perhaps many goals will come as a result of a worse goal if he doesn't develop and perform as anticipated of him).
