borussia dortmund got a super tough group. AC Milan,Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United FC .
but if you want to get through to the next round you have to beat all the teams . here are the complete groups

source: https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/draws/

Well, this is a pretty good group stage draw and seeing as Dortmund's chances of qualifying are very slim here. Meanwhile, if we look at group A, Manchester United will be accompanied by Bayern Munich and in group B there will be last season's European League champions, Sevilla, who will be accompanied by Arsenal. Apart from that, in Group C there is the defending Scudetto champion Napoli who will be in the same group as the king of the champions league, Real Madrid. There is also a treble winner last season, Manchester City, who will still be accompanied by Leipzig. I think those are just a few of the teams that are favored enough to qualify for the knockout rounds. However, if you look at Group H, which is filled with Barcelona and several non-seeded teams, if Barcelona still can't qualify, that would be outrageous.

I would 100% agree that this doesn't look very good for Dortmund, but they have had surprising performances when they play at home. Maybe that is the one chance they have, to win their home games. But the group is difficult in general. For every team this is not an easy one. I can't tell who the favorite is to win the group. AC Milan is certainly no worse than Newcastle or PSG in this very moment. But we will see how the teams will develop over the coming weeks. What would the guesses here be from you guys regarding this group from #1 to #4?

Newcastle United get in a toughest group but it is more than a nightmare for them. They did not expect to be in such group. PSG, Dortmund, Milan and Newcastle United will have to beat each other to get only two tickets to go next.
Newcastle are now in a high guts test group of teams that will face big teams but of you might underestimate it? For me, no. See later Newcastle can bring a more interesting game even Milan can not move when meeting each other.

Just an assumption, but now I like Newcastle's game.  Grin

Maybe this is what is expected, but who says it will be eliminated soon because they have a great and solid squad now in the hands of Eddie Howe.
Prove that Newcastle can move on from this group.

The Pressure from the Premier League and now from the Champions League I will want to see how they finally go or what they achieve when the season comes to conclusion next year.
They are located in hell the toughest group in the Champions League.
Milan has brought in quality players who have a very good start of the season their hopes of winning the Champions League should be active this season after the signings.

I've just seen the draw
The most difficult group of all seems to be group F of course, but I need mention here, as in World Cups, the groups of death, usually don't turn out as expected
But anyone in F will struggle, all four clubs have a chance of qualifying
Group F looks like the toughest group on paper because the teams in the groups are popular and have a lot of Champions League experience except Newcastle United, who just qualified for the Champions League. I think it will be a battle in the group because Newcastle will not be easy to eliminate even though those teams are popular.

Basically, Dortmund, Milan, and PSG are not in their best form because all these teams lose some players, especially PSG and Dortmund. Therefore,  I don’t think Newcastle United should be underrated because they can surprise us with amazing performances in the group stage, just as they did last season to secure the Champions League spot.

Quote
Man City did well in a theoretically weaker group and have all conditions to end with the best campaign

Manchester City will surely lead group G because they don’t have any strong teams to challenge them in the group. The only competition that will be in the group will be between Young Boys and Crvena Zvezba when fighting for the Europa League spot because Leipzig will try and follow Manchester City to the round of 16.

Quote
Group B seems to be the most balanced
Yes, the group is balanced because anyone can qualify, even though Arsenal stand a better chance of leading the group ahead of Sevilla.

Quote
Group C will also have 2 interesting games with Napoli vs Real Madrid
These two teams will qualify for the round of 16 because they have good and experienced players over other teams; Real Madrid, on the other hand, can top the group because I believe they can beat Napoli.

I am obviously not happy aboit this draw due to some certain things. I am a fan of England teams and I have been having a great affection for Newcastle but I am just surprised to see a deadly fixture for them.
PSG
Dortmund
AC Millan
Newcastle
This is not a good draw for a club that first appeared in the Champions League recently. This means that Newcastle might not qualify from the group stage of this year's Champions league. Just sad

It seems like Group F is the one that attracts my attention the most in this group phase, I'm not even sure which team will qualify for the next phase. AC Milan has made quite interesting progress so far, especially when they brought in new arrivals in this summer's transfer window.
As for Dortmund, this team cannot be underestimated, in fact they could have surprises. Even though in two matches in their domestic league, Dortmund did not play with their best performance.
PSG, is the most interesting part.
I want to know how Luis Enrique carries his team's squad when they play their matches in the Champions League. the reason is, their opponent is not an easy team to overthrow.
Newcastle, which is hard for us to guess. even though they have just returned to competing in this league, we cannot yet confirm how they will play their matches in this group phase. I think either way, they have a pretty good team. Let's see how they will face their opponents, and at the same time test the mentality of Eddie Howe's squad.

I think Milan can show the best performances with these teams, obviously it's a very difficult group, the slightest mistake could cost you dearly. Unfortunately there are no low-level teams in this group, but they are all of the same level and I'm sure they will put on a show in every match in group F

At least in the group stage you can trust and let the newcomer prove himself, because Barcelona are not in the most difficult group, you can even experiment a little. Although there is also La Liga for that, so as not to take risks in such a tournament, especially for Barcelona this season it is very important. So far I see that Barcelona can definitely get out of the group, maybe even reach the quarter-finals, and then it all depends on the opponent
Basically, almost all groups look easy to become top of the standings for some of Europe's top teams, except for group F. Barcelona is fortunate to get relatively easier opponents this season, but I don't really dare to guarantee they can qualify easily and lead Group H in the end.

All teams can be surprised that Barcelona still has the possibility of failing to reach the last 16 if all the opposing teams are really able to make it difficult for Barcelona to win the match. I agree Barcelona are favorites in Group H, but that's not a guarantee to see them through easily to the next round.

It seems that the entire group stage exists only for the sake of us seeing one interesting group:

Group F: PSG Dortmund Milan Newcastle

This is a real group of death and here from the first round there will be a battle not for life but for death. The rest of the groups look like jokes compared to this one. Well, in principle, it's very good: in other groups you can watch when the first and second teams play each other (like Bayern vs United), but here all the games will be good.

It's a death group, okay, but this group is within reach.

Dortmund is no longer the same as when it had Sancho and Haaland, and the last time Newcastle qualified for the Champions League was the 2003/04 season.
The only team that can hurt PSG is AC Milan.
And I think PSG and AC Milan will advance to the next round.

@Oneandpure while many people will not consider Newcastle to win and progress ahead I feel that they can stun everyone and beat these favourites because they’re playing very well and underestimating them will be a big mistake. Furthermore PSG isn’t ready yet as a team and Dortmund have also shown at times to choke and lose hence Newcastle must fancy their chances of qualifying from this group.

All of us mostly have a same feelling about Newcastle, they will not thinking about a champion title for now. Because currently they are underdog team in UCL. The most important things for them is, experience. Newcastle have money, but doesn't have experience in UCL, its mean nothing. So, I believe, this season they will have a target to go to the next round, at least. Next season if they are qualified again, that will be a time to build a team to compete for UCL title.

This should be the most dangerous group of the Champions League group stage this season. Newcastle are the newcomers there, and they will have to fight tough teams in Europe; yet, I doubt they will make it out of the group stage because they are the least powerful team among the others. This should be their greatest nightmare, but at least after this group stage game, they'll have gained Champions League experience and will hopefully be able to qualify for it the following season. I wasn't expecting this from Newcastle; hard luck to them.

Quote
Did I miss any new terms in Champions League this season? Do we still have 2 clubs from each group to go next?

Will PSG have to stop this season after a group stage? It will certainly push Mbappe to leave PSG.

We don't have two clubs from each group set to go, but we do have at least one from each group guaranteed to advance to the next round.
PSG are one of the group's favourites, and I don't think they'll struggle to go past the group stage. What is more crucial is to prepare for what comes after the group stage, because I doubt they will have any problems at this point.

Agree with Group F is the real of difficult group in Champion League, actually PSG is favorable team will get place to next phase and one teams between Newcastle United, Milan or Dortmund will get chance for qualifying to next round. Newcastle is new comer teams in Champion League after absent for longer time but they have quit well composition than Dortmund and AC Milan.
I think Group F looks most competitive and difficult qualify for next round, Milan with current performance success managed to semifinal stage last season not guarantee they easily qualify to next round depend with strong opponent teams in Group F. Seems PSG and Newcastle United are favorable teams will qualify to next round and PSG will manage top standings place.

Group F is definitely a group of death now. I don't think even PSG are comfortable in this group. They are already dealing with some problems so we can consider them as an inconsistent team. They looked better than this last season. It is still the beginning maybe but I don't believe in them too much in the Champions League this season.

Dortmund, Milan and Newcastle are all very challenging opponents considering PSG's current strength. Milan have started the season in a strong way in the Serie A. I'm curious about especially Newcastle's performance here. Because it has been like 20 years since they competed in this tournament the last time.

But the recent improvement of them should be taken seriously. They can also fight hard to qualify from the group stage.

Surely, group F is a hell group in the Champions League this season how could it not be, because the teams in group F are all favorite teams. Although indeed, maybe Newcastle is a newcomer to the Champions League. But still, since Newcastle has a new owner with a lot of money, at least Newcastle has also managed to compete consistently in the upper zone in the Premier League standings from last season and until now. That way, even though Newcastle is a newcomer to the Champions League but still, Newcastle has the ability and quality to be able to compete well in the Champions League this season. So yes, although maybe PSG can be the most favored, but with PSG's current poor performance then I think, it looks like PSG will also still have difficulty getting good results in this group phase.

Newcastle are in a tough group. dortmund, psg and milan are three very strong teams, and it is impossible to predict which two teams qualify for the next round from this group.
Newcastle so far with how they have played just in the few games they have played this season will have to really improve and become stronger if they are going to qualify from the group that they are in and have found themselves because it is a competitive group to be in among other teams who have more champions league experience than they do. The champions league will start on the 19th September, and until then these teams have the time to prepare themselves because the Champions league is tougher and almost as unpredictable as the premier league. Newcastle will give it their best to ensure that they do not get sent out of the competition in the first stage.

PSG have been top of Ligue 1 for a while now and automatically qualify for the Champions League group stage. They had the best players in their squad - Messi, Neymar, Mbappe. With such a squad they couldn't win the Champions League. As for Manchester City, they won for the first time last year, before that they had bad seasons like PSG. Now they need to try to confirm the title.

PSG this season no longer has Messi and Neymar in its squad and of course, although PSG will still play in the Champions League this season. But still, it will be difficult for PSG to reach the Champions League final, in fact I believe PSG will probably only reach the last 16 or maybe only reach the quarter-finals. Because after all, the quality of PSG and Manchester City is clearly very different, and you cannot equate their quality. Anyway, even though Manchester City just won the Champions League title last season. But in reality, Manchester City has had high consistency in reaching the semifinals and finals in the Champions League in the previous few seasons as well. Obviously that's very different from PSG, who still don't have the ability to go further in the Champions League every season.
For Paris SG it seems I'm a little unsure whether this club can qualify for the semi finals but for Manchstr City there is still a bigger chance, it just that there are new challengers like Bayern Munich who are currently aiming to win the Champions League title this season after they managed to sign quality players like Harry Kane and for Manchstr City there was a bit of a dip earlier this season in premier league match.
What is certain is that in the Champions League it will be an interesting competition from clubs that will try to make new history like City achievements last season and I am a little more confident that Bayern Munich will get a position in the semifinals.

This is not a good draw for a club that first appeared in the Champions League recently. This means that Newcastle might not qualify from the group stage of this year's Champions league. Just sad

Looking at the group stages from A to H, there is no better place to fit Newcastle other than group B, I'm more than happy Seeing Arsenal among minority teams like Sevilla, PSV and Lens. The only treat to Arsenal is Sevilla and I think it was done on purpose because over the years, it has always been difficult for Arsenal to beat Sevilla but this time could be a better chance to the last fight they had on emirates cup, Arsenal will definitely live the group stage with or without any worries, these teams are not going to do any damage.

Looking more on F, I don't know lol what Fifa was thinking but I am certain that PSG will live the group stage, I'm not sure about Milan but it's going to be a tight schedule between Newcastle and Dortmund, the struggle is going to be extra because those two want the Champions League than any other teams in that group stage.

It would have been better if they do a little combination of some big teams vs big teams but with this draft, minor clubs will find it difficult to make it to knockout stage especially team in group A and group C, Napoli Real Madrid is not staying behind in that group stage, they are going to knockout stage either by force or by luck.

For the first time in 20 years, the UEFA Champions League will not feature either of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. It's surely the end of a glorious and very exciting era in European football. Never in the history of the competition has there been two players who have been as consistent as the duo.
That being said, their absence will give room for younger stars to emerge which I think we already has some names that many are banking on to become the next stars of the competition. The draw for the group stage takes place later today in the hilly and beautiful city of Monaco and we can't wait for the return of club football's most prestigious competition.
Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut in the UCL in 2003, while Messi made his debut in the 2005-2006 season. That being said, they have dominated Europe top leagues for more than 15 years. It is true that their era has ended in Europe, and they are enjoying a new role in a different league. I think all players will have the opportunity to be like Ronaldo or Messi, but will not be able to surpass them.

That's right besides the Champions League group draw, there will also be an award for UEFA Men's Player of the Year.
It will feel different when the Champions League is without the presence of players who have dominated football for more than a decade, but the Champions League is the Champions League, even without them there are new players appearing at this time. And if we realize that this season, not only are these 2 players not there, but other players, especially those who went to the SPL, are also not there. There are several names there, Benzema and Neymar are one of them.
It will be difficult to find a replacement for these 2 players (Messi and Ronaldo), not in terms of ability, but in terms of their ability to be consistent over the years. Maybe players will be born who have better abilities than them, but maintaining consistency for more than a decade is very difficult.
Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel messi gave us a great performance and interesting game in the champions league and today they are no more to be found in champions league,  but the truth is that even without these two players champions league will always be interesting because their a lot to be watched so interesting from players. Currently we have the like of haaland and other players in champion league that can trend just like christiano Ronaldo and Lionel messy.

It's hard to find a player at Lionel Messi's level who has good ball skills and free kicks. Barcelona don't have that now and of course they always struggle to find a way out when expecting a free kick goal in a match. Honestly, I don't know who is worthy of being relied on to do that apart from Raphinha, Lewandowski or Ilkay Gundogan, but Barcelona is still having difficulty finding that in their squad.

I think Lamine Yamal might be able to transform into a versatile player for Barcelona if he trains hard. Lamine has good skills and he also has good passing accuracy, so if Xavi is really able to improve his skills then Yamal will be very useful for Barcelona in the coming seasons.
I am more inclined to see good players who are able to carry out free kicks by Gundogan or Raphinha. Obviously there is no ideal replacement figure who can match Lionel Messi in taking free kicks at the moment, but over time this figure will be in the Barcelona squad because now they have talented young players who continue to struggle to make place in the main squad . Xavi still trusts Lewandowski as the person who takes free kicks, but his ability has not yet reached his level of satisfaction.

Lamine Yamal is just playing for his professional career in the Barcelona senior team and I don't think he is ready to take on this task, especially since the mentality of playing in the Champions League is very different. But as a preparatory step, I agree that if Xavi will give him the opportunity and it also depends on how Lamine Yamal can train to continue developing his talent and potential.

Sure. It won't be easy for Newcastle, they just joined UCL but they must struggle in the most difficult group. However, we can't judge Newcastle will fail, they have the same chance as other teams. Although people assume PSG, Dortmund, and AC Milan are stronger. But we don't know how they will play in UCL this season. There are always many surprises in UCL, a stronger team can be defeated by weaker team. I'm sure Newcastle can surprise everyone, they are strong enough to compete with other teams.

I'm curious to see how PSG will play in this Champions League, since the team has changed a lot, without Neymar, without Messi...
Indeed. There is a big change in PSG squad. Moreover, if they will lose Mbappe as well, they will decrease significantly their attacking power. So, I'm no sure if PSG is ready to compete with other teams. PSG isn't in the good situation during this transfer season. So, I don't have a big expectation for this club.
