Losing and winning in one match is normal for all teams, but when the favorite team loses in one match then many users will be surprised by it. Real Madrid was not expected to lose in the final at all, so everyone would be surprised if Dortmund could beat Madrid.
100% correct. In a football match, there should be 1 winner and 1 loser. And we must understand that the result sometimes can be unpredictable due to many factors. Real Madrid can be the favorite team but if they do a mistake in the match, they can get a lose. Which team that can play more confident, apply the right tactic, and do a good teamwork, they will have a higher chance to win in the match. Let's see which team that can optimize the potential in the match.

I'm not a Dortmund fan and I'm not a Real Madrid fan either. I still think that Real Madrid are the favorites because of the depth of the squad and their performance this season, but Real Madrid can still lose because of their own mistakes and also because Dortmund are playing well. Both teams have the potential to lose or win, but Real Madrid's victory is much more realistic to expect than Dortmund's. I hope you agree with this one, no debate.
Common football fans probably favor Real Madrid to win the match. People know well which team has better players and has incredible history in UCL final. That's why people call Real Madrid as the king of UCL. But this can't guarantee them to win UCL, Real Madrid must do a serious effort if they want to beat Dortmund. The status of King UCL and good records in previous finals won't bring real impacts in the field. It finally depends on how Real Madrid players can play with their best level.

Ancelotti has warned all the players to focus on the match, don't be influenced with the status of favorite team: https://www.beinsports.com/en-us/soccer/uefa-champions-league/articles-video/ancelotti-warns-that-madrid-will-have-to-suffer-in-the-final-against-dortmund-2024-05-27

Dortmund in definitely not at the same level as Real Madrid because they have many more investments so far in Real Madrid while in Dortmund they couldn't do that instead of investing in the team and buying some more exercise players to have better performance in the next games, they just try to sell the young and more expensive players to earn some more money and that's the business plan they have in Dortmund. Now I want to see if this is going to work for Dortmund against Real Madrid or not.

We should know how special they can become and how different and straightforward is Real Madrid towards winning their titles. They've fought so hard to reach this stage and will do everything within their possession to ensure they're accumulating good points. Borussia Dortmund does stand a chance to win Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final? This is simply one of the underrated matches for Los Blancos because they're always leading when the odds involves Real Madrid.

There are reasons why Real Madrid is the bookmakers favorite club to win the UEFA Champions League title this season and almost everyone who knows about the history of both clubs in the competition will agree to the fact that Real Madrid will always be the favorite team to win a final ahead of Borussia Dortmund. Like you said, Marco Reus who will be playing his last game for Borussia Dortmund in that game will do everything possible to try get his hands on club football's most prestigious trophy but I don't think his wishes will come to past in that game.
Real Madrid legend like Toni Kroos will also be playing his last club football game in that game and as a Real Madrid fan that I'm, I can authoritatively tell you that the Real Madrid players will do everything possible to help Kroos win that particular trophy in his last game at the club.
Real Madrid is undoubtedly a better team than Dortmund in every metric. They are also the most popular team in the world with the biggest fanbase worldwide. This fact is expected by bookmakers to attract many bettors to put their bets on Real Madrid. There is no reason for bookmakers not to put Real Madrid as favorite to win the Champions League trophy.

Dortmund may be underdog in this game, but their chance to win the final is still there. They have won one Champions league in 1997 by also being underdog to Juventus. The captain, Marco Reus, will put his best effort on his last game for Dortmund to win the most prestigious trophy for his boyhood club. The game will be a climax of this season football, it's expected to be an intense and attractive game that will lure many emotions.

But this Dortmund's coach is one that his effort really needs to be commended because thesame season that he sold Haaland and the present Real Madrid star boy,and the next season,he has taken the ones available to the champions league final. He is a really good coach, and I see what he's doing at the club.I agree that Real Madrid have big players than Dortmund now,but the only thing that I see about this Dortmund team is the unity and team work among the players, and that is the only reason why Madrid will sweat before winning them, that is if they will be able to win them, but I doubt it a little,it might end in a draw, and they will go to penalties.

We have seen many times in the past that underdog teams have surprised everyone by winning the Champions League.   No one can predict that Dortmund will qualify for the Champions League final this season.   Dortmund were never favorites for the Champions League. Even then, the team managed to qualify for the finals.

Real Madrid is an experienced team, and coach Ancelotti is also very experienced.   Ancelotti will certainly not underestimate the Dortmund team.   Ancelotti is well aware that Madrid have a high chance of defeat if they take Dortmund lightly.   So there is no doubt that Madrid will play to win. If Madrid can find the weaknesses in Dortmund's defense then I'd say Madrid will win this year's Champions League title as well.

I understand why some users are worried about the odds that Real Madrid will face in this season's Champions League final. The failure experienced by Leverkusen in the Europa League final is an important lesson for anyone not to be too confident in the high chances of a favorite team to win, in reality they can still be beaten.
Yep. Some people feel worried with Real Madrid because they can't accept the fact that Leverkusen could be defeated by Atalanta. If we want to analyze the fact, it makes sense if Leverkusen can be defeated because Leverkusen isn't a superior team in Europa league. Leverkusen is only a new team that can make a record in the domestic competitions in German. But it is different when the team play in international competition such as UCL and UEL. It is not the first time that a team who performed bad in domestic competition like Atalanta can be the winner in an international competition. Also, it is about the level of the domestic competition. I think Serie A has a higher level tan Bundesliga, so Atalanta often played against strong teams. When they play against Leverkusen from a lower level of local league, it is not really surprising if Atalanta can defeat them.

Regarding the match Real Madrid vs Dortmund in the next final UCL, it is very different with the final of Leverkusen vs Atalanta. In UCL, Real Madrid is surely a king of the competition, they can prove it by winning mostly the trophy. Real Madrid also made fantastic record in the final UCL. They could play in the final 17 times, they only got 3 defeats. And in the last 8 UCL finals, Real Madrid never got a defeat. If we consider this history, it is very clear that Real Madrid is favorite team. They can prove it in many seasons of UCL competition.

There is never a guarantee that the favorite team can win the match, regardless of whether it is the final, semifinal, quarter-final or round of 16. We've seen many favorite teams fail in the Champions League this season, but Real Madrid's defeat in the final seems too low to be true especially given the experience of the team and coach. Real Madrid is really reliable, but it still can't guarantee they win.
Of course, we can't deny that a favorite team can be defeated. Dortmund is not a weak team, they are one of the top teams in Bundesliga. However, Real Madrid has stronger squad, they have more top players. Real Madrid also has signed the star players of Dortmund, Bellingham. And I heard the issue that Real Madrid must give a big amount of money to Dortmund if Bellingham can lead Real Madrid to win UCL trophy this season. Some media stated the amount of the money is bigger than the prize of UCL winner. Considering all of these reasons, no doubt Real Madrid potentially wins the final UCL this season.

The excitement of football is not only based on the number of goals. But I personally am always more excited if both teams play aggressively and score multiple goals in a game rather than just one goal in 90 minutes or more. Instead of seeing a match where both teams only play ball in the middle. it's very boring. The game of soccer is all about strategy so I think that goes without saying. And seeing how a coach uses strategies for a club brings other excitement. but what I said from the start was that it would be more exciting. That doesn't mean it wasn't fun at first. BUT IT WILL BE MORE EXCITING. But I also wouldn't feel that the UCL final wasn't exciting. because even though in the last 4 seasons the results of the final match have always only featured 1 goal, the excitement always exceeds that of other matches. But I expect more excitement in the final this time. Even if there aren't many goals, I hope both teams play aggressively like Inter Milan and Man City showed last season.

I understand what you mean mate, the number of goals matters but to me style of play and composure matters too, for instance in the final match between Leverkusen vs Atalanta, Atalanta won the match and made it more easy for themselves by being more composed in both attack and defence and their style of play outmatch Leverkusen in that game and that's what made it very interesting and not all boring cause Leverkusen at some point realised their error and tried to make p for it but it was too late cause Atalanta became more aggressive with their defense and made scoring difficult for their opponents. I dislike a boring match, not to talk of a boring final game, not just any finals but the Champions league final, well I believe the final game between Madrid and Dortmund would be very interesting and probably with lots of goals about 3 or more and both sides to score. Dortmund might be the underdogs but even though they don't win I believe they'll have a goal in that match.

I disagree that the style was the decisive issue in the final between Atalanta and Leverkusen. In this case it was goals because Leverkusen was again the team that took control. But in contrast to any of the other games during the season, they couldn't score the goal. Leverkusen gave away they chances they would usually not give away.
While Leverkusen was carelessly wasting chances, Atalanta scored some insane goals. That was the decisive issue in that game. In this case the number of goals mattered more than the way the teams played. Atalanta won't score three goals against Leverkusen often. Hardly any team did. I don't even know whether Leverkusen conceded three goals in any game this season?

It could be similar in the game Real Madrid against Dortmund. Real Madrid is a team that can get along very well with low ball possession because they know they don't need a lot of chances to score.

The point I can catch is that Real Madrid is more trusted as the final winner against Dortmund. You are trying to describe the situation of a final by comparing the Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen matches in European League.
Right if the final match will feel different even though Real Madrid is known to be tough when playing in the final round. I think the chance to win is still 50:50 between Dortmund and Real Madrid.

Dortmund is very strong in terms of defense. Real Madrid is great in attacks with the number of goals made in UCL. That is, the two teams have advantages and disadvantages of each. For me, for now I don't have to win Real Madrid or Dortmund, but how strong is our analysis to win the bet we will make.

Speaking of the bet... I think that in this match there will be more than 9.5 corners and Madrid will win... If you bet now, the odds are around 3... I think I will take a risk and bet on these events... Probably a good bet that both teams will score... I don't remember Champions League finals when Real didn't win... Dortmund won in the last millennium... Grin

I will place a 1x2 bet. Corner bets don't like it. Both teams can score goals being the favorite choice.
I will not rush into making a decision in betting on this match. I will still wait a few more days.
Indeed, Real Madrid rarely loses every time they play in the Champions League final and I admit that based on the data I have found regarding the teams that win the UCL trophy from season to season.

This is the season where Real Madrid played in the final and were only satisfied as runners up.
  • Season 1961/1962 vs Benfica.
  • Season 1963/1964  vs Inter Milan.
  • Season 1980/1981 season vs Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Dortmund only played in the final twice with the results being 1 winner and 1 runner up. UCL champion Dortmund against Juventus in the 1996/1997 season. Became runner up when they lost against Bayern Munich in the 2012/2013 season.

Like Atalanta managed to beat Leverkusen and Man United managed to beat Man City. So there is a lot of speculation circulating that surprising results could also occur in the Champions League Final. And I might also think that this could happen. but I think the possibility is very small.  Smiley
Do you think the chance of Dortmund beating Madrid is the same as Atalanta beating Leverkusen? It would be cool if the underdog wins again, which means this year will be full of surprise winners (not talking about the league). I think it would be healthier for the overall competition if we could see other winners other than Madrid, but at the end of the day, those who score more goals will win the cup. I hope the winner plays good football instead of defending for 80 minutes and scoring one lucky goal. You can argue defending needs good strategy too, but for a competition like the Champions League, I'd love to see aggressive football instead of another "boring" one.
I also expect the same thing. Ancelotti in the quarter-finals and semi-finals actually made a strategy that made Real Madrid less aggressive in attacking. But I know Ancelotti in the final will not use the same strategy as he did in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Because it would be more exciting if Real Madrid implemented their attacking strategy directly, which is always very aggressive and could immediately overwhelm Dortmund from the start. And Dortmund is also expected to implement the same attacking strategy. but I might now think that Dortmund will actually implement a less aggressive strategy and will only look for gaps to attack by counterattacking. Hopefully the UCL Final won't be a boring final that always lacks goals.
Will a match with a lot of goals be more exciting? Maybe 5 goals or up to 10 goals. I think a football match is not about the number of goals conceded that is enjoyed. But what game tactics are shown by each team? In general, Ancelotti's strategy was not to aggressively attack by chasing the number of goals in the first half. If Real Madrid takes the lead early, it will actually make the players overwhelmed in defense, because Dortmund will attack continuously. Ancelotti will play defensively in the first half and only use counter attacks. Real Madrid players only saw the opponent's weakness and exploited it at the last minute.
The excitement of football is not only based on the number of goals. But I personally am always more excited if both teams play aggressively and score multiple goals in a game rather than just one goal in 90 minutes or more. Smart is not enough, there must be skills
People continue to speculate if the outcome would be similar to Atalanta vs Leverkusen but i strongly disagree with them. It surprised me because no one was expecting the king of UCL to win another UCL trophy this season, the history has proven how strong madrid in UCL. The crown will be owned by Real Madrid once again. It's best for Dortmund to give up. LMAO
I think this is what differentiates Real Madrid and Leverkusen. Real Madrid are the kings of the UCL and they have a perfect record in finals since changing format to UCL. Meanwhile, Leverkusen, although they have the longest unbeaten record, are not the kings of UEL. Statistics also show that Atalanta is at the same level as Leverkusen. They are not much different. On the other hand, Real Madrid really has a winning mentality. I think it is almost impossible for Dortmund to beat Real Madrid. The best possibility is a draw. I predict the match will be a Madrid win or a draw. Madrid still has the possibility of a draw but I remain confident they will be able to win the penalty shootout.
The scenario comes again, maybe the final will end in a draw until the 90th minute - then Real Madrid wins it on penalties just like beating Man City... It's a wild scenario. Grin

I have no doubts about Real Madrid in the final because all of Madrid's final matches always end sweetly. Maybe many people compare it with other finals but this time it's different even though I'm not a Real Madrid fan but to become a champion is still big.

How good is our analysis then will be at stake later? Actually, the Real Madrid win bet is quite good, it's just that people always compare with the European league final, so it may be a little nervous for bettors.

We saw Leverkusen's poor finish in the Europa League final but of course they have themselves to blame for this poor finish. As an opponent, atalanta was not a tough opponent for Leverkusen but they took their final match as extra pressure which resulted in their defeat in the final match. A Real Madrid team like Leverkusen will definitely not play in the final with so much pressure because they have enough experience of playing in finals on such a big stage and they have won the most-number of UCL trophies so the chances of Real Madrid losing against Dortmund are very low. Since Dortmund have qualified for the Champions League final, Real Madrid will not consider this team an easy opponent.

Before going to the field against another big team, they will go to the field with the same plan as usual in the final match and hope they will be successful there.

So, you're saying both teams have a 50/50 chance of winning the match. That's not wrong because until one scores, it's not obvious that Madrid will win. Dortmund isn't at Madrid's level, but Madrid should never underestimate them. However, we know that Madrid never disappoints, especially in finals. Atalanta surprised many people last week, but I don't see the same happening here at Champions League. Will Dortmund end the monopoly? I dare to say yes because experience matters most at this high stage, and Madrid has that all the way.
When everything is decided in one match, then perhaps you are right when you say that the teams have equal chances. If they were able to reach the finals, then they are strong enough to do it. The recent match when City failed to achieve victory in the final is an example of how a clear favorite can lose, a few good attacks, some kind of mistake, a good defensive game, and the outcome becomes completely unexpected.
People saw what happened before the two teams got to where they are in the final game, which is the reason people are deciding the team to win the UEFA champions league trophy, and some believe on Real Madrid that they have the power to lift the trophy while some say Borussia Dortmund are the team to lift the trophy.

That is what am telling someone people that mistakes will surely happen in this final game that will make Real Madrid to experience what Manchester city experienced from the hands of Manchester united to beat Manchester city 1:2 to lift the trophy.

Borussia Dortmund will still be my favorite team in this game, I believe they are going to use all their power to stop Real Madrid not to secure a goal till the end of the final game.

I think there is an 80% chance that Real Madrid will win the Champions League cup. I never underestimate Borussia Dortmund, but Real Madrid has a squad of above-average quality. They have players who can change the direction of the game at any moment. Vinicius can suddenly get into a scoring position with his individual skills. Likewise, Arda Güler, who has been in form in recent matches, can be an effective weapon in the second half against a tired Dortmund. Ancelotti must make the best use of the players available. I think Leverkusen lost the final because they couldn't manage the excitement.

As days go on, the Champions League final is getting closer and closer. I really hope that Dortmund is actually trying to get ready for the final and putting on a plan with which they believe they will win. Because Real Madrid is the best Champions League team ever and they are not going to go easy on Dortmund. Dortmund will have to fight really hard to actually win this match. a very good realistic scenario for them is going to be to actually somehow take this match to the penalties. If they can actually win in regular time, it is going to be great. But when we talk about injury time or extra time I think Real Madrid is obviously better. the bench of Real Madrid is actually better compared to the starting lineup of Real Madrid. If you are the opponent and you watch Luca Modrić coming off the bench in the 79th minute, you are not going to be happy for sure.

Obviously, although Bayer Leverkusen managed to go unbeaten in the domestic league which is very impressive but still, comparing the quality of Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen in the final match of the Europa League and the Champions League it clearly has a significant difference. Because after all,  Real Madrid are very used to playing in final matches that are full of pressure, while Bayer Leverkusen do not have great experience for final matches. With that factor, I think it's clear that Real Madrid are still the best, eventhough the Europa League final was a surprise as Atalanta won. But anyway, in the Champions League final I think Real Madrid will still have a goodchance to win, and there is certainly no doubt for Real Madrid to get the Champions League trophy this season.

First of all, in this particular encounter between borussia dortmund vs real Madrid in the uefa champions league final, it very clear that real madrid are the clear favourite here, so the bookmarkers odds between this two teams are not wrong, and I believe that the odds of real madrid will keep on getting smaller as the day of the match getting closer, while the odds of borussia dortmund will keep on increasing, because everyone expected them to be defeated by real madrid, but one good thing about football is that anything can happen, nothing is guaranteed, borussia dortmund can surprise them on day and go home with the trophy if real madrid is complacent on that day or they think that since they are the favourite her, borussia dortmund will be a pushover.

And talking of  borussia dortmund not deserving to be in the finals? Yes they actually deserve it, though they aren't that strong, they were mostly lucky in their journey to the finals, because the teams they met on their way wasn't that strong as the team madrid met, but luck is one vital thing that is needed to be successful in this competition, so they actually deserve to be in the finals.
I do understand that we are going to end up with Real getting the win unless some big shock happens and everyone knows this. I am not saying that we are going to have Dortmund at zero chance, lower odds teams managed to win, just a few years ago I have seen 12+ odds win against Real Madrid, a team called sherrif that I have never seen again ended up beating Real Madrid, however at the end of that year Real still managed to win the cup, but still weirder things happened.

So all in all, I would say that just like how Atalanta managed to win Leverkusen who went 51 games unbeaten (52 total) in a row, we could see Dortmund could win as well. But are we really willing to put our money into that? I am not, I rather put my money on Madrid to win.

It seems that no one expected from the start that Dortmund would make it to the Final stage in the Champions League this season. I didn't even expect at that time that Dortmund had continued to advance since the round of 16 and then I thought Dortmund would fail in the quarter-finals but they still succeeded and advanced to the semi-finals and the funny thing is I also thought Dortmund would fail in the semi-finals but well we can see the results now Dortmund actually managed to reach the final round. And yes, this was beyond my expectations and perhaps also beyond many people's expectations. And now I might also think Dortmund will not succeed in winning the trophy in the UCL. but no one really knows the results. And indeed no one should underestimate this team. Just because they are in the final is a big surprise this season.

Real Madrid almost always wins when they are in the Final. If I remember correctly, Real Madrid has reached the UCL final 17 times. And 14 wins and only 3 failures. Well, this is quite a big comparison between Real Madrid's loss and win ratio there.

God, save BTC!
Madrid have more experience in the Champions League... I think they have had more difficult opponents than Dortmund... Man City and Bayern are not PSG and Atletico... Of course the final match is hard to predict, especially after Atalanta beat Leverkusen in the Europa League final... But it seems to me that Madrid should win... Dortmund have been excellent this season and it would be amazing to see them as champions, but I think it's unrealistic for them...

Grin
