City beat Bayern (in the QF) and Real Madrid (in the SF) on their way to the trophy last season, and if they meet either team in this knockout stage, it would be pretty tough and there would be a sense of revenge. It would be interesting to see how things pan out.
Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are still the top three clubs in the Champions League this season. And if they don't eliminate each other before the finals, two of these teams will almost certainly meet in the competition's finals. They've had previous encounters with each other, and those teams that won those matches aren't guaranteed to win this time around because of the intensity of their meetings and the nature of the competition.
I hope that this season's final is more interesting than the one we saw last season. The final was played earlier for me, and it was the semifinal match between Manchester City and Real Madrid. If that meeting had taken place in the finals, it would have been a more exciting game to watch. We're looking forward to seeing how this season plays out and which teams advance to the final stage.
I'm not sure that Madrid and Munich will run smoothly until the final, I think there will be a meeting between the three later, especially since Manchester City's meeting last season eliminated Munich and Madrid before the final, it looks quite good, it's just Madrid and Munich this season have talented new players who make it possible that there will be fierce competition if the meeting occurs again. I also hope that in the final Manchester City will meet Madrid or Munich.
But maybe that will happen again if they don't meet in the semi-finals or quarter-finals. I think there will probably be a big club meeting in the final. So far, these three clubs are the most favourites, but there are other clubs that cannot be ignored either.
