Real Madrid has shown a lot of dedication this season and even last season in la liga and champions league, and there was high hope of them winning last season but their focus was on champion’s league and they lost the two leagues and this season is another season. And the only serious team I see in La Liga that can stay on the same point is Girona. The players' experience is also very important, and they will look for possible ways to compromise when there is a challenge. Bellingham's injury will affect the club's performance, but they will look for an alternative to fill in for Bellingham. And Manchester City is not in the best of shape, so it will be even more difficult for them. And the fact that Manchester City is unstable will benefit a lot of clubs. And Barcelona is worst and they won’t even go far they are not in good condition.

Many things happened to Real Madrid and it has nothing to do with focus. They were less active and doesn't have much men on ground. Benzema wear off after winning his Ballon D'or and was having multiple injuries, Vinicious was busy playing victim of racism, I know it hurts with the rate of racism is Spain but he should learn to prioritize the club instead of having to fight every day and fight other teams for not discipline their own, you can only warn a grown up person but you can't beat them for their actions and if it was ban, how many are they going to ban? He should have learn to use his goal to pain their faces instead.

They were also having so much out of form, today they are doing fine and the next day, they are playing what I don't understand. There was a time they were absolutely playing rubbish most especially with teams below 10th place in the table and Barcelona took their chances and pass them with points and become number one spot. All efforts for Real Madrid to get  above Barcelona was hard and  they gave up without Champions League and Laliga but I hope the emergence of Bellingham bring them good luck this time.

Real Madrid last season did not perform that well. But this season they are doing good and they might be able to win both La Liga and Champions League. Real Madrid has a big concern this season too, which is injury.

Currently, some of their key players such as Courteous, Militao, Vinicius, Tchouaméni, Camavinga, and recently got added to the injury list Alaba. They have some important games coming up and they cannot afford this much injury. Bellingham’s recovery is important as they have been their best player this season.

The players who are replacing the injured players have been performing well. Joselu has scored quite a few goals in the last few matches. So it’s a good thing they are getting their backups ready.

Considering that Arsenal should be able to get past them easily. Maybe Porto can defend them stronger home and they might get a draw as well. But at Emirates I would just expect Arsenal to destroy them by a gap of a few goals.  Smiley
It seems not easy match for arsenal. Porto has been known as one of good team in the UCL. Arsenal may be losing against it if it will not be lucky enough. Porto will able to beat arsenal. Look at the performance from porto.
It was as good as barcelona. Porto has been also collecting the same points like barcelona. I would like to call that porto is in the same level as barcelona.
Arsenal needs to be careful against it or it will be out from UCL.

The Porto team cannot be considered weak. This group is quite strong. And in the past we have seen Porto surprise everyone by performing well against big teams. So if Arsenal fail to perform well against Porto, then they will be eliminated from the Champions League. Against Porto will definitely have to play very carefully. And the defense must be kept strong. In the group stage match against Porto, Barcelona won both matches as Barcelona's defense was very strong. If they can keep their defense strong I would say Arsenal have the ability to beat Porto. Comparatively stronger Arsenal team than Porto.

It doesn't matter about the same level between Porto and Barcelona because after all, at this moment at least Barcelona is also experiencing a decline in performance. So yes, comparing their quality at this moment, I think Arsenal still has a better level and quality than Barcelona and Porto. Therefore, I personally still believe that Arsenal will still have a better chance than Porto.

After all, based on the odds that exist at this moment, at least Arsenal are still quite favorites even though yes, in reality in the first leg Arsenal will play away. Maybe, it will still be difficult for Arsenal to beat Porto in the first leg but yes, at least Arsenal still has the ability to hold a draw and then, Arsenal will win in the second leg because they are playing at home.

- Real Madrid managed to top group C
- Real Sociedad managed to top group D
- Atletico Madrid managed to top Group E
- Barcelona managed to top Group H.
More than any other domestic league. This means that La Liga clubs such as Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid showed extraordinary progress to become group winners. There is certainly no doubt about Real Madrid and Barcelona because these two clubs are at different levels. Because what I'm most worried about is that Real Sociedad's performance in the Domestic League is not as good as UCL, it's an achievement to be able to lead group E and be above Inter Milan. Real Sociedad could be the dark horse club in the last 16 of the UCL. The public will focus on competition between big clubs so that Real Sociedad can take advantage of this competitive situation by moving unnoticed.
Clubs from La Liga dominated in the round of 16 as four of the five clubs in the Champions League this season made it through, while one club was eliminated in the group stage, Sevilla.
Interestingly those who qualify are indeed the leading clubs in La Liga, apart from Real Sociedad who are up and down in La Liga competition. Real Sociedad is indeed the weakest club among other La Liga representatives, but that does not mean they can be underestimated, I agree with you that they could be a dark horse that can beat clubs that are much bigger than them. In this round of 16, everyone has the same chance, the difference may be the percentage of chances they have to go all the way.

I don't have any fear about that game between Arsenal and Porto because, Arsenal are capable to win that game to qualify for quarter finals and they are ready to challenge any team that will face them in the quarter finals and they will surely get victory from them to qualify for UEFA champions league final. Porto don't have a talented players like the talented players Arsenal coach signed in this summer and, they have showed some good results to the whole world that will make them to beat Porto 4:1 for the favour of Arsenal to carry more boldness in their remaining games.

If you see Arsenal results in many competitions this season, you will know that Porto will not be allow to use home advantage to draw this game with Arsenal because their coach is a type of person that know how to use another strong player to replace the one that is weak in the field to ensure his team succeed at the end.
One of the fixtures for the UCL round of 16 between Arsenal and Porto is more of an average probable game. Both teams are likely to win. Although Arsenal are a better side judging from their EPL performances, to their group stage performances too. Porto themselves aren't doing so bad in their league and they've got good track record in the group stage, and I believe they would give Arsenal a tough fight.

Arteta's Arsenal are young, vibrant and victory oriented too. They won't want to give off their chances at the trophy just so easily to Porto. They're a side more likely to put up a fierce contest and make the game tough for their opponent Porto. Maybe or maybe not, Porto will be able to endure the strength Arsenal would put up. Arsenal are to some extent technically better than them still, and they're the most favorite to qualify for the next round.

This can be seen when facing teams whose quality is below them, so Vini and Rodrygo have more space and opportunities to get opportunities.
So far I see the Real Madrid team is quite bad up front and they are quite dependent on Bellingham.

Ancelotti is a coach who has a lot of experience, so this makes Real Madrid quite taken into account in the race for the title, even though there have been many changes in their squad this season, but Ancelotti has managed to maintain the consistency of his team.
Thanks to Ancelotti, Real Madrid's shortcomings or weaknesses in the front line this season are no longer so visible because Real Madrid in general can utilize wingers and midfielders very well. So Real Madrid can still do a lot in the Champions League this season and I think Ancelotti will also try to bring Real Madrid to the final by continuing to apply extraordinary tactics this season. Apart from that, other changes could also come to several teams and also to Real Madrid when the player transfer market opens again this season.
Ancelotti is a great manager and from the look of things, he is so confident of his squad this season than that of the last season. If this squad was the one that faced Manchester City last season, they wouldn't have been humiliated. This is because there are alot of energy and toughness in the club compared to last season.

What I have discovered about the Real Madrid of today is that almost all the players are becoming utility players, which means they can play in any position in order to help the club success. That is a good fighting spirit.

Probably they have actually thought about performing better in the Champions League and have given the Champions League more importance. Or maybe the other reason could be they are not finding too much problem to go through that the group stage of the Champions League. After all, the Champions League is going to get harder and harder as time goes on in the season. But in the La Liga competition, it is ups and downs. But I respect the decision to give more importance to the Champions League. Because it is definitely a glorified competition and the biggest competition in football history after the World Cup.

Im not feeling good with it. we can get back to the result from the last season when there were many candidates from serie a were entering to the semi finals. it seems like this is the time for la liga clubs to repeat the same achievements like serie a clubs last season. UCL is just getting harder since the strong clubs is starting to face each other. As you can see that from the schedules of upcoming fixtures, if some clubs were not lucky enough caused by they have gotten strong club as their opponent.
The team like copenhagen must have faced manchester city and it's a disaster for the club. It's almost impossible for copenhgen to win against manchester united. There are so many great matches to come.

Yes, so far Ancelotti has been able to close the position that is considered their weakness this season, namely on the front lines. He is very lucky because he has players who are very reliable, one of them is the player they just bought, Jude Bellingham. Time and time again he has been the difference in the game and he has even been the decisive factor when Real Madrid have been deadlocked in attack.
However, they must be able to bring in players whose original position is a target on the front lines, because the opponent has begun to realize their weaknesses and it is not impossible that the opposing team will make the movement of plyers who have been a mainstay no longer free.

Bellingham's injury bis no doubts definitely going to have some effect on real Madrid performance but then I think it will be very obvious in their la Liga performance than their UCL performance because in the UCL they seem to put in more focus regardless they are still at the top in la Liga tho. Manchester city current draw down is such that Madrid can possibly take advantage of to further make their chances of winning the UCL although Manchester city will wan to defend the title as the most recent champions
After failing to win the Champions League trophy last season, this time Ancelotti very enthusiastic about winning the Champions League title, bringing several of his mainstay players even though Vinicius often suffers from injuries, but Real madrid not short of player and there are still many reserve players who have very good performance and for Bellingham I am sure he a player who very excited to lift the trophy with Real madrid because he wants to make new history in his career and on the one hand Ancelotti is eyeing the best striker who will soon be brought in and this makes Real Madrid performance strength even greater and has a greater chance getting the trophy Champions league.
The match against Leipzig will not be able to prevent Real Madrid from going faster to maintain its position to reach the final round and I am sure Real madrid will still win.

I don't think this season Barcelona will have too much to say when it comes to the La Liga competition. I'm not going to say that they are not even going to be the runners-up. But this season the competition is very hard and not like any other previous seasons when they had to only face Real Madrid. Now there is Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Girona as well. And the current performance of Barcelona looks not so good as @RockBel said. It is still possible for Barcelona to actually have to go to a performance in La Liga. But I don't think they are going to win and defend the title successfully.

It is very realistic if they prioritize the Champions League over La Liga, but giving up one of the two would backfire for Real Sociedad. This competition will become more difficult and challenging when they enter the quarter-finals or semifinals, they must be ready to match the strength of their opponents to open up opportunities to survive longer.
Teams like Real Madrid and Arsenal are still focused on two competitions, if they fail in one competency, then there is still hope of winning another competition. Real Sociedad must be able to maintain its performance in La Liga, if they fail to finish in fourth place, they are threatened with not qualifying for the UCL next season.

It's funny how the teams' odds changed after the draw:

Manchester City 2.82

Fc Bayern Munich 4.90

Real Madrid 6.37

Arsenal 6.86

Paris Saint Germain 12.74

Barcelona Fc 14.70

Damn lucky City, which, one might say, ended up in the quarterfinals (they got Copenhagen as their opponents in the 1/8) improved their ratings from 3+ to 2.82  Angry
And all this against the backdrop of the fact that in the Premier League City, in three rounds, their odds worsened from an undeniable 1.1 to 2.25. Luck in the draw means something, right?

I probably agree that the chances of Real Madrid, Bayern and Arsenal are about the same, but why is Barcelona so high? Inter are listed as 20+, Ateltico 25+, Dortmund 25+, Napoli 49+. Let's say I understand that Napoli failed, Dortmund is unstable (as always haha), but why is Inter so low? And Atlético, on a good day, can endure a penalty shootout against anyone.

For me, Barcelona’s quotes look extremely dubious, and perhaps if the bookmakers’ assessment does not change, then in the confrontation between Napoli and Barcelona, the value bet will be Napoli to win.

Yes, only Sevilla failed to qualify for the UCL group stage. Apart from that, Sevilla failed to make it to the Europa League play off round. Other Laliga teams were able to appear competitive there and managed to come out as group winner, even though they were not as consistent as Real Madrid, but they showed their best and tried hard to get through the group stage. Only Laliga teams dominate the UCL while EPL teams only Manchester City and Arsenal qualified as groups winners, Man Utd and Newcastle failed to qualify for the UCL next rounds and failed to make it to the Europa League play off round.
There is nothing to expect from Sevilla performance this season, their poor performance means this Spanish team failed to qualify for the next round and did not get promoted to the Europa League. In fact, their success last season in winning the Europa League could be said to be a blessing because they succeeded in adding to their trophy collection. but on the other hand they were unlucky because they had to compete with strong teams when conditions were less stable.

Now that Sevilla has been eliminated from the UCL and is the only team from Spain that failed to advance to the round of 16, this failure must be evaluated for their benefit for next season. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico and Real Sociedad are still struggling in this competition. Of these four teams, only Real Madrid is the most consistent in maintaining its performance, it is not certain that Barcelona, Atletico and Real Sociedad will go further.

Real Madrid this season seem to be putting more effort in the UCL and I see them as potential winners because their performance so far in the champions league is such that they have been able to put up very brilliant performance all through the group stage which seemed much easier than the UCL round of sixteen and in the draws they will be facing Leipzig.

That's your opinion! Portuguese sides are quite difficult to play at home. Don't you forget about who sent Arsenal home during the Europa League Competition last season. Have you? Then you should go see for yourself.
When it comes to the Champions League they shouldn't be seen as mid. Besides, they have won the Champions League before. But wanting to judge with form, I haven't seen too much of the games played recently but for Arsenal, they need energy in midfied, I hope to see Thomas Partey back immediately after the African Cup of Nations Cup Competition.

Exactly, Arsenal will definitely defeat them. I hope to see them winning the Premier League. Finding balance during these game would be a great idea.

I dont think it will be an easy game. Although Porto may not be as well-known or flashy as some other teams, their toughness and experience should not be forgotten. After a break, Arsenal recently returned to the Champions League, which makes things more uncertain. High-stakes games like this benefit a lot from having experienced players, which Porto could use to their advantage even though they are the favorites.

Obviously, Arsenal is better, especially at the Emirates, but Porto could still pull off an upset. Not to mention that they've been good enough in the UCL to compete with teams like Barcelona, even scoring the same number of points. This game requires Arsenal to be very alert; if they get too confident, they could find themselves in a tough spot.

The performance of the Real Madrid team is very stable. They are dominating in Champions League and La Liga. However, they do not have any experienced players in their forwards. If Bellingham suffers a major injury, Madrid's performance is likely to be unstable. Vini and Rodrygo's performance cannot be relied upon. Their performance is erratic.
Yes, Real Madrid's weakness this season is not having a classy striker, and also their defense is not strong because many players are injured. I think Real Madrid's game does not depend on one player, especially Jude, because it has been proven that when Jude doesn't play, Real Madrid can still win. Ancelotti is a smart coach, he can take advantage of the advantages of players, but considering that many of Real Madrid's current players are injured, Real Madrid will have to bring in several new players in the transfer market later. Because with the Laliga and UCL targets, it seems that the squad that Real Madrid currently has is still not enough to achieve these two targets.

Vini and Rodrygo performed well in Bellingham's absence. This is why Real Madrid managed to win even without Bellingham in the squad. However, we don't see good performances from Vini and Rodrygo on a consistent basis. If the performance of these two players is good, the Real Madrid team will become stronger.

Ancelotti's match strategy is good. He finds out the opponent's weaknesses and tailors his match strategy accordingly. This is why Madrid's performance is so stable. However, it will be much more difficult to win against a big team without an experienced striker. Madrid management should try to add an experienced striker to the squad in the winter transfer window if they want to win the Champions League title.

It seems like Arsenal have a favourable matchup for themselves to reach the quarter finals. I mean I don't think Porto are good enough to eliminate Arsenal in the Champions League. Porto lost both of their games against Barcelona in the group stage for example. I think Barcelona are even playing worse than Arsenal these days.

Considering that Arsenal should be able to get past them easily. Maybe Porto can defend them stronger home and they might get a draw as well. But at Emirates I would just expect Arsenal to destroy them by a gap of a few goals.  Smiley

The first leg will be held on February 21 at the Estadio do Drago, and the second leg will be held on March 12 at the Emirates Stadium.
Both games took place right before the big game in the Premier League
The first leg was held just before Newcastle, and the second leg before Chelsea.
Both are home games, but not games you want after a European night
This won't be easy. This will be a tough match. However, if the Gunners can come close to yesterday's performance with a good finish, Arsenal will come out victorious.

Let's wait for the first leg to begin first. We can speculate if arsenal will be winning the game caused by it looked like superior in UCL but i remind you that arsenal was passing the group stage caused by it was getting easy group. Im feeling confidence with it caused by arsenal will not be trying to make it happen. Statistically, arsenal becomes favorite in this match caused by the club was performing so well but we can't really sure if arsenal will able to show the same performance like the previous match.

That's also my main reason to call that if arsenal was not having guarantee if the club will be playing so well in the upcoming match. I would not feel so optimistic about it. Arsenal can also lose anytime.
Porto may give us another surprise, like when it was competing with barcelona in the group stage. Porto was strong enough even barcelona was struggling against it. AFAIK barcelona has become a very good rival for barcelona.
Barcelona has had a strong record of winning against Arsenal in the past. I think that porto can become very big obstacles for arsenal soon. I would rather than pick btts for the first leg.

Im sure porto is having the capability to score against arsenal.
