Group stage was very unfair for Newcastle United to be honest. Considering how bad Manchester United was in that group with Galatasaray and Kopenhag, Newcastle could go even to next round if they were in that group. I believe Kopenhag is the most generic team into the next round. They have solid defence that can resist even big teams but they will definitely have hard time scoring a goal. Expecting quick elimination from them.

Newcastle united performance from the beginning of this tournament was very poor that made them to remain in the last position in group F which is a big disgrace to big team like Newcastle united in the champion league competition. It was a shocking match seen Newcastle united to first AC Milan to scored goal in the first half but AC Milan turned the match for their favour in the second half by equalized the goal and added another goal that made them to defeated Newcastle united 1-2 for the favour of AC Milan. Borussia Dortmund take a good lead from the group F to be among the qualifiers in the champion league competition this season, because they where able to draw the match with PSG in their home 1-1 that gave them the opportunity to top the table.

The last matches of the Champion League group stage have concluded, and we now have the 16 teams confirmed for the knockout stage. The 16 teams in the knockout stage will be divided into two groups. Group 1 comprises the top 8 group winners, while Group 2 consists of the second-placed teams. The teams from Group 1 will be drawn to face teams from Group 2. Arsenal and Man City are the two English teams that progressed to the knockout stage this season, while both Manchester United and Newcastle finished at the bottom of their respective groups.

Arsenal and Man City won't face each other in the Round of 16 as they come from the same country. Teams from the same group in the group stage won't meet again in the knockout rounds. This means Arsenal can't play against PSV, and Man City can't face RB Leipzig. Therefore, these are the potential opponents for Arsenal in the Round of 16: Copenhagen, Napoli, Inter Milan, Lazio, PSG, RB Leipzig, Porto.

As for Man City, potential opponents in the Round of 16 include Copenhagen, PSV, Napoli, Inter Milan, Lazio, PSG, Porto.

Fair or unfair is what must be accepted by all teams playing in the Champions League and UEFA has rules regarding the draw so it is quite natural that Newcastle are in a fairly tough group because they are not included as the favorite team.
Newcastle can try again next season but of course, they must first improve their performance so they can get a place in the top four of the English Premier League.
AC Milan, who were only able to get third place, may feel unlucky this time and their achievements are far below what they got last season.
This is quite unfortunate because they wasted several opportunities and the most detrimental thing was when the first match only drew with Newcastle, and they should have been able to perform better in the European league fighting for the title there because Serie A seems to be closed to them this season.

Honestly with the result in the first half, I thought Newcastle were heading into the Champions League last 16 when they were leading AC Milan 1-0 and as Paris Saint-Germain struggled to beat Borussia Dortmund. But they couldn’t protect the lead. I don’t think it was a disappointing outing. It’s the first time after many years and couple with the long lists of injuries in the team. The group wasn’t an easy one for them. Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Ac Milan are big guns in the UCL and I didn’t expect Newcastle to easily go through.

Had the game finished 1-1, they  would have taken the group’s Europa League spot with PSG having secured second place behind group winners Borussia Dortmund after a 1-1 draw. Now both Manchester United and Newcastle are out of all European competitions.
Yes, you’re correct, Newcastle would have qualified from Group A of Copenhagen, Galatasaray and Bayern Munich. They had some good performances that should’ve seen them scale through.
Maybe if they do well in the EPL this season, they might come back to Europe next season.

Dortmund 1:1PSG
Newcastle 1:1Milan

A very interesting game going on in the group F in the champions League, from the current result now, Newcastle United's hope lies in their own hands so they have the right to decide if they are going to progress to next round or not. Going to the next round they will need to win right now against AC Milan then pray for the match between Dortmund and PSG ends in the current score of 1:1. Let's get your opinion can Newcastle make it to the knockout stage?

Congratulations to PSG and Dortmund! Both teams are attempting to advance to the Champions League Round 16 and I think their group is the hardest in the group this season due to the strength and performance of every team. However, the game rules dictate that some teams must lose and some will win. While Newcastle and AC Milan are heading home, Dortmund and PSG have qualified. To be fair, both teams tried, but ultimately a team has to be eliminated.

Arsenal finally gets to qualify for the first time after a very long time in the UCL, it's their first time to qualify for the round of sixteen in the champions league after over four years of not been able to get pass the group stage in all their UCL appearances in the past four years, they will be facing tougher teams and I hope they will be able to make it pass the round of sixteen.

Manchester city aswell were able to qualify but their performance tonight made it clear that the teams performance will really be affected in the absence of certain key players because they were unable to put up a strong resistance against their opponent which led to the conceiving over two goals, their opponent almost got an equalizer but they were lucky to later get a goal which kept them ahead, by next UCL appearance, hopefully all their key players will be present and they will perform even better.

Arsenal's performance allowed them to advance to the champion league round sixteen; otherwise, they would have remained in the group stage. The Arsenal team is working extremely hard to ensure that they advance to the next round of the champion league because they are aware that they can beat some teams with their performance, and I still think Arsenal can advance from the round sixteen. regarding Manchester City I'm confident they'll make it because their group stage wasn't as difficult as the ones for the other teams. Manchester City also has a chance to advance to the round of 16, which is why Pep Guardiola rested many of his talented players yesterday. We'll see what happens in the round of 16.

I saw the game Newcastle played and lost in the EPL and I was like, ok they have a good reason for losing that game but this game against Ac Milan was so annoying to see the home side getting that goal that should have been the only lifeline they had but they couldn't defend to the last. I expected more from the EPL team (Newcastle) but they played like fatigue had gotten hold of them all.
To me I prefer the Newcastle of last season to this one we're seeing now, these set of players are not really up to the task and I don't see them coming back to compete in the UCL next season, this is the end of Newcastle playing the champions league.
This is the stats Newcastle generates from the UEFA Champions League. They're competitive, we know that but they lacks the confidence and experience to follow up these elite clubs and besides there group becomes the very challenging group in UEFA Champions League this season. Group F comprises of Paris Saint-Germain, Borrusia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle united, these clubs are here not to jeopardize their actions of not qualifying. The end of the UCL road for Newcastle United this season, the Magpies losts to AC Milan which would have made then see the european spot but got defeated, Eddie Howe will work out plans to become stronger next time.

Newcastle would have qualified for the knockout rounds had they not been in the group. PSG, Dortmund and Milan are all three very strong teams in Group F. This is why Newcastle team cannot stay in the top 2 of the table. Still, the team tried hard enough. They have won against strong teams like PSG. A win at home against Milan in the last match would have seen them qualify for the knockout rounds. Newcastle's side lack the experience for a Champions League platform. And we haven't seen consistent good performances from Newcastle in the Champions League due to lack of experience.

Yeah I doubt Pep is too bothered about this game and like you say he’s taken the opportunity to rest most of his stars.

38 minutes to go and still 1-0 up. I’m much more interested in other games tonight if I am honest.

In fact, Pep did not play his starting eleven in this match. We can see that Pep rotated several of his players even though Jack Grealish was still played as a starter. with the scenario, Grealish will be more reliable and at the same time become a mentor to the young players who Pep has made the main starter. Oscar Bobb is played as a center forward, he is a young City player. Likewise with Micah Hamilton, a young player who is 20 years old. Grealish was withdrawn to be replaced by Foden in the early minutes of the second half. Kocavic, was replaced by Susoho, an 18 year old young player.

So, only established players remain in the defense line. but not with Rico Lewis, Pep often rotates this young player according to his wishes. which means, Pep doesn't care about the match and I agree with you. Pep prefers to reserve several of his core players to save energy.
Uniquely, this match became even more exciting because many goals were scored. and as you say, there are more interesting matches that the Champions League has to offer in the matches after this. especially, for the group E phase match which will present an exciting battle. there are no other words, other than we wait and watch.

It's not very much interested or worried about this match. But even after that, Manchester City was able to win this match without too many problems. Well, actually they did have some problems, to be honest. But in the 80th minute, the score was 3- 1 in favor of Manchester City. And even after in the 81st minute, Manchester City actually ended up conceding, I did not think Manchester City was actually going to lose this match. They had good control over things. Did it look like this match might end in a draw at certain points? Yes of course. But as I said they still were not very much worried about this.

The 16 teams qualified on 16 round

Ligue 1
  • PSG
PSG got the ticket with help from AC Milan and with a goal of a very young midfielder. Mbappe did not have a good match but he and PSG were rescued by the young player Emery.

Mbappe got a chance to have a goal but a Dortmund defender's Sule made one of most impressive defense moments in history. There are memes that take his defensive moment as a new logo for Bundesliga.

Mbappe somehow denied by Sule

Newcastle defeat to Milan which meant they failed to survive in European competition left a number of jobs that had to be addressed within the team. Newcastle may still be able to compete in the top four of the EPL, but they will have difficulty in the UCL with a modest squad. This failure must be immediately evaluated to improve the quality of the team, bringing in top players is the solution so that Newcastle is able to provide competition on the European stage. Newcastle which has no experience in the UCL, needs to bring in experienced players with a winning mentality so they can compete with other strong teams.

Newcastle was just unlucky not to win that game against AC Milan. This is because they were the better team but they were unable to take their chances. AC Milan was more experienced and Stefano Pioli was tactically better than Eddie Howe. He made Milan to defend well, while they capitalised on the mistake of Newcastle to launch a counterattack. It was one of these counterattacks that produced the second goal by Samuel Chukwueze. We expected much from the English side in King James Park but it's unfortunate that they lost the game and are now out of European competitions. I wouldn't also blame the club too much because some important players are injured, stars like Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy and Elliot Anderson were all out of the game.

Milan will be happy to be in the Europa after they failed to put up a good performance. PSG was just fortunate to qualify for the next round by goal difference. I doubt if the French side will qualify for the quarter-finals. They have not shown much commitment or impact in this year's UCL. Luis Enrique will have to do something about the club's quality of play.
What you ask yourself is which have Newcastle defeated except Chelsea, when you check the records of Newcastle that from the beginning of this tournament you can see that it's neither Newcastle end 1:1 draw or they win Newcastle, I think what they needed is something else, I think that Newcastle what they needed is new players, Newcastle lost their previous match against Tottenham and still lost their match against AC Milan, I never have in mind that Newcastle would have defeated AC Milan, because I see a Newcastle as a team who exercises their football style when matches is fixed between them and all this bigger clubs and that is were you will see them with their methods to defeat but a club that a Newcastle suppose to win you can never see them defeat such club

Another great news is that Sevilla is out, and I do not mean europa out, I mean out out, like fourth place out. Why is that great? I am not one to hate Sevilla, they are a cute team and they keep winning europa so they are a successful team as well, but at the same time I am sick and tired of them winning it, I like to see other teams try. Surely we all are aware that Liverpool is miles better, but for some reason, Sevilla manages to beat whoever they face, doesn't matter how big or small, not every year of course but they are always a danger. With them out, that means other teams could try to beat each other fair and square and it wouldn't be a boring season of Sevilla just getting another one.
I think it was expected that Sevilla would finish last in the group. Since they won the European league last year, they took part in the UCL this year. However, I predicted that they would not be successful. A team with a high average age. Even though the players are experienced, teams with a higher average age can no longer compete in the fast game. They can focus on their La Liga performance from now on.
There are too many problems that happened in sevilla. The club takes much longer to adapt with the current situation. Somethings that have been contributing a lot to the bad performance of sevilla this season is

1. New coach
2. There were many important players left
3. Bad managements.

These things have been strongly affecting the performance of sevilla at this moment. Sevilla played so badly and it's not surprising me to see that sevilla has encounter the problem. I hope that sevilla will able to play even better than before.
Sevilla's debt has been ruining the performance from the club. I remember when sevilla put all of players for sale to be used to pay the debt.

This is also giving very big impact to the performance from sevilla caused by it was losing a lot of important players right now. No doub that if sevila is struggle in winning anything.
Sevilla was not as good as last season caused by that factors. It takes some times for sevilla to sort all of those problems out from the club.

Finally round group matches have ended and left 16 teams will play on 16 round, La Liga success dominance with four teams managed top position each group exceptional Sevilla become La Liga teams have eliminated in this season. Real Madrid keep stronger with managed Group C, there are have Real Sociedad success get dominance from Inter Milan for leading top standings in Group D, Atletico Madrid on first position at Group E and Barcelona with bad experienced performance last season in Champion League success finish on first standings group H.

16 teams down from 78 and with all the league games, it's fair to say these are the top 16 teams of europe. The knockout phase would too be a home and away two games.
The results are mostly as expected and justifies why some of the leagues are popular than others and why French league is just about PSG.
The draw for the knockout would be out in 18th of december. Considering the current performance, the most title holder Real Madrid and the defending champions Manchester City are favorites for winning the trophy.

It has been a disappointing Champions League season for Newcastle United. If I remember correctly, they collected 4 points in their first two games and in one of them they scored 4 goals against PSG. I thought they would qualify for the next round and I'm sure most Newcastle United fans thought so too. However, at the end of the day they finished last in the group. We can say that they are inexperienced in the Champions League compared to their rivals. I'm sure they will be more careful when they come back here in a few seasons. Maybe they can also come here with a better squad.
Newcastle experienced quite a decline in several matches not only in the Champions League but also in local competitions, they looked very weak because in two matches in the English Premier League, they conceded 7 goals while only being able to score 1 goal, this already shows that there is a problem in their game so it is quite reasonable when they lost to AC Milan, even though Milan knew their chances were very slim to qualify for the group phase because winning alone was not enough because a goal deficit would make them lose to PSG who only needed a draw to qualify but a win at least gave AC Milan a chance to competing in the European league, AC Milan's experience managed to get them third place in Group F but Newcastle doesn't seem ready to compete in the European tournament because they seem to be struggling this season which also affects their ranking in the EPL.
And as a team that is quite surprised at being able to play in the Champions League, Newcastle's out is not surprising because this was predicted from the start of the season, although the first two matches succeeded in reducing doubt about them, the remaining matches proved that they were not strong enough to compete here, at least for this season.

At least this is good news for the clubs competing in the European League because they are really looking forward to Sevilla results in the last match. If in the end Sevilla doesn't qualify, it will definitely make the competition in the European League not so tough because Sevilla can put big pressure on other clubs. Sevilla experience in the European League it is so good that this club always dominates the title in the European League many times.
Sevilla was defeated by Lens and Lens has the opportunity to enter the European League. Of course this is a new challenge for Lens because he did not succeed in qualifying for the next round. Will Lens be able to perform better? good in the European League?

Sevilla will return to La Liga to improve their position, they are in a less secure position, namely in 16th position, Sevilla experienced a lot of decline, they did not stabilize their performance unlike last season, but they still have a lot of games in La Liga and they can focus there starting now and have to improved their position to be in a better position even though it look like next season Sevilla will have no chances of taking part in the tournament in the Champions League or the Europa League if their position is in the middle of the standings.

The teams from Laliga performed quite impressively in the Champions League where 4 representatives from Laliga were able to end the last match in the group phase as group winners such as Real Madrid who led Group C, Atletico Madrid who led Group E, Real Sociedad who led D and Barcelona who led Group H. It seems that if you look at the strength of these 4 teams, I think they will succeed in bringing the UCL title home to Laliga because they have the most representatives who have qualified for the round of 16. And maybe only Sevilla failed to advance because they weren't very strong this season.

Apart from that, of the Serie A representatives, only AC Milan failed to advance to the round of 16 because they lost in goal productivity to PSG. Of the Premier League representatives, only Arsenal and Manchester City qualified, while Manchester United and Newcastle United failed to advance to the next round. From the Bundesliga, only Union Berlin failed to advance. I think this is quite an interesting season for the defending champions, namely Manchester City, because they have opponents who are tough enough to stop them from winning the title.
Finally round group matches have ended and left 16 teams will play on 16 round, La Liga success dominance with four teams managed top position each group exceptional Sevilla become La Liga teams have eliminated in this season. This is a deserving outcome for their dismal performance. This might be the most disappointing version of Manchester United for me since I started watching football. Watching them play against Bayern at Old Trafford, I feel heartbroken for the previous generations who put in so much effort to build a strong and stable reputation for Man Utd among the fans. However, it seems that Ten Hag and his mess are destroying it all. They play vulnerably and lack the essence of a big team. Loyal fans are turning away, as evidenced by many supporters leaving before the match even ends. It's truly sad for the current state of Manchester United.
Manchester United must be serious with their internal problems and if they can succeed to analyze their failures internally and most important to see what's wrong with their development strategy, they will figure out ways to change their strategies and come back. Because they had a bad strategy, coaches and players came and went away but could not help them achieving big things. Lot of money spent in the last ten years but Manchester United now look like a small club with very limited budget for transfers and salary. It's seriously wrong and a big failure.

Quote
Real Madrid's record and performance in the Champions League are truly admirable, and they rightfully hold the title for the team with the most championships in this competition. Over the past few seasons, we've witnessed Real not performing well in domestic leagues, but when it comes to the Champions League, they present a different face, standing as an indomitable monument that is hard to surpass in this tournament.
Real Madrid are the King in Champions League and they hold the record of Champions League. Most won titles there and the only champion that successfully defended the crown, not only one time but two times with their winning streak last for 3 seasons with Zinedine Zidane.

In Champions League, Real Madrid have a DNA of winners and they usually play better than their temporary form in their domestic league La Liga. Other clubs probably feel more fearful than usual when the opponent is Real Madrid.
