Maybe Barcelona were already comfortable as they guaranteed finishing the group as the leader. However I still wouldn't have expected them to lose to Antwerp in the last game. Antwerp also had no goal to achieve left in the end. Barcelona should have played better and won this game. Xavi also stated how bad they were in this game.

They lost two games in this comfortable group so I'm curious about their performance in later rounds. If they don't get lucky with the draw I think they would be likely to get eliminated early. But at least there is some progress as they couldn't even get past the group stage in the recent seasons.

That's the only advantage they had last otherwise they'd have been knocked out of the competition ( Champions League ) already. They are going from bad to worst. After losing to Girona over the weekend I was thinking they want to change the cause of them performance and step up but they couldn't. In fact sime fans are already calling out for the sack of Xavi Hernandez that under his watch the club are going from bad to worst.

They have all the time to buckle up if you have to ask me, they'll do better in the league and it'll reflect on how they play during the round of sixteen next year. They have all of the remaining days in December.

After the first half and Newcastle's dominance, I didn't expect Milan to be able to make a comeback in the second half... But Newcastle were unlucky and the European season is over for them... Maybe they could have been lucky if they had a different group... Hopefully I can see them in the Champions League again next season...
This is football, anything can happen during the second half. As far as i can see that if acmilan was doing some changes. It was pushing even harder compared with the first half. Glad to see that acmilan can still manage to enter into the european competition but newcastle officially leave from UCL. Newcastle needs to learn a lot from the current case. It has no strong mentality to face a strong club from another league.

It was strong in EPL but it has not yet tested once it was facing a club from the different league. That proves that winning UCL is the hardest task for any strong clubs int he world. Even newcastle which was doing so many transfers can do nothing in UCL.
It was following manchester united to be placed at the bottom, which was very bad result for newcastle. I expect something more from newcastle but it didn't even happen.

I remind you when newcastle was losing against dortmund two times in a row. That was a signal if newcastle will not able to make it go to the UCL knock out stage.
I can't really be sure whether newcastle can enter into the UCL again next season. The competition in EPL is very strict right now. Shall newcastle replace eddie howe with a better coach?

The management needs to decide it caused by it will give disadvantage if the club keeps unprofessional coach like him.

I think they fought very well in the group, The group was the most difficult group in the Champions League. One team was going to be eliminated and that was Newcastle. They can do better next year.
In terms of strength, Newcastle's team has really declined this season and they don't have enough mentality on the European stage, so Newcastle's elimination is not a surprise, it's quite a natural thing for me to decline.
However, AC Milan's elimination despite winning the last match against Newcastle is a very unfortunate thing, although it cannot be denied that Dortmund and PSg also deserve to qualify for the last 16.
Group F was really quite fierce.

Barcelona really performed not very well and most importantly showed not the strongest game and now many teams are not afraid to get into the 1\8 finals to Barcelona, as it used to be a couple of years ago, and now on the contrary for many rivals Barcelona is a very good opponent, which can be beaten and the same Porto looks in many ways stronger. It is difficult to understand who Barcelona can beat now, but I think it will be very interesting to watch the match Barcelona PSG now.
I was very surprised by Barcelona's defeat against a weak team because Barcelona played almost all of their main players even though they had already guaranteed themselves to qualify for the round of 16.
Now Barcelona's performance has really declined, we can see it in the last few matches they have played and if there are no significant changes in the January transfer market then we can be sure that Barcelona will not go far on the UCL stage this season.

I feel very sorry for Newcastle. They have really been so competitive in the champions league, but they were not Lucky enough to progress. I will blame that on the injury list which the club has been managing since the beginning of this campaign. Eddie has really done his best but there was nothing more he could have done when almost all the fist team squad are injured. To me Newcastle really did very well, but they have to improve and come back to the competition hopefully next season.
Newcastle is a new team in the Champions League, so it is very natural that Newcastle has not yet qualified for the next round this season because Newcastle does not have much experience in the Champions League. Meanwhile, the other three teams in the same group as Newcastle are teams that have often been in the Champions League even though they have not often won trophies in the last few seasons. However, I also still think the efforts made by Newcastle were extraordinary in this group stage.

Newcastle's European dreams come to an end in the 'group of death'. Their game vs. Milan in the Champions League played a crucial role, proving that experience matters in the end. Nonetheless, it's still a blessing for Newcastle to have the opportunity to play in the Champions League this season.

I feel very sorry for Newcastle. They have really been so competitive in the champions league, but they were not Lucky enough to progress. I will blame that on the injury list which the club has been managing since the beginning of this campaign.
Yeah actually I feel bad for them too because I no the kind of effort they have Putin in this season but however it was quite unfortunate they were unable to qualify to another round, although if they had putting more effort on there last match against AC Milan they would have qualified because they had the opportunity to have scored Ac Milan on the 33 minutes of the match and they were able to maintain and defend the goal till the second half of the match before Ac Milan was able to equalize and later win Newcastle United 2-1.

Perhaps just like you said the injury players was actually what affected the performance of Newcastle United because if they had all been in a good state I doubt if Ac Milan would have win them.
If Newcastle plays to their maximum strength (if none of their core players are injured) then of course Newcastle will even be able to get through the group stage very well. Because as we saw in the group stage this time, PSG was unable to beat Newcastle. In fact, it was PSG who lost the first meeting. Meanwhile, in the second meeting, PSG could only hold Newcastle to a draw and failed to get revenge. Even though at that time Newcastle had lost many players due to injury. So Newcastle's performance can really be expected to be better if there are not so many injured players there.

Newcastle seems to be really unlucky this season. When they started to find their best performance, it turned out that they had to accept the fact that a storm of injuries had hampered their performance significantly. I hope Newcastle can return to the UCL next season. Because I feel Newcastle deserves to be here again in better conditions.

Tragic with Newcastle United appearance in Champion League, first time participants after absent for longer time they have eliminated from group stage and difficult to raise top third standings as position for qualifying to Europe League. Last season, Newcastle United have quit well impressive performance and success become big four of Premier League. Bad first appearance in Champion League have been get difficult drawing group with PSG, Milan and Dortmund are teams with much experienced playing in UCL.
I believe Newcastle United knew that this season is like a golden chance for them to enjoy Champions League and consider it as motivation for their players to play better in Premier League and join Champions League more times in future. They began this group with a draw against Dortmund but their ending is not surprise. It is only big surprise if they can surpass PSG, AC Milan or Dortmund to be one of two best teams in this group.

Quote
Wining one of six matches is bad achievement for Newcastle United actually have good started their participants, success taken one points first away match against AC Milan and winning on home match from PSG but Newcastle United performed drop drastically for several matches left until have eliminated from Champion League.

They could do it better and get more points if they can secure their defense better. If they can beat PSG than a draw 1 - 1, they will be eligible for Round of 16, not PSG.

Newcastle United match details show that they only had bad performances when playing against Dortmund. With AC Milan and PSG, they actually had some opportunities to finalize those matches as winnings.

I love the outcome of the game tonight and PSG did what I expected of them because it wouldn't have make sense had Paris St. German crash out of the champion this early. With the the kind of form and determination I saw in Borussia Dortmund team this season's champions league, you will easily tell that PSG will not win Dortmund in their home soil, therfore going their and getting a draw was the best option so far in securing the second spot in the group to qualify for the next round of competition.

Why wouldn't it  had made sense should they PSG had been eliminated from the champion's league last night. Please expand your point, because from all I know following these games from the very beginning apart from Brussia Dortmund, Newcastle was the next team in the group F that played with great seriousness and energy in their games, they had good results won their first games had it not being for injuries on their players

Not really in terms of their performance, but taking everything into account, No doubt Newcastle did well but I option for PSG as one of the big name teams that most supporters would not want to see leave so early but want them to progress in the competition ,even to the final game stage. Personally, I prefer to have PSG stay in the competition because I can spare time to go watch PSG games than I will think to spare time to go watch Newcastle games.
that's your opinion and It's alright, but I know there are many fans that will want to watch Newcastle play in the champion's league everyday. For someone like me I don't take PSG anymore serious than I used to as they have been really disappointing in the champions league previous competition's, you see them raise fans hope from the beginning only to get it shattered in the middle of the competition with the manner of squad they have always possessed in their team.

If teams like Newcastle could come to the UCL for their first visit and do better then I think many fans will love to watch them play and with time should they revisit again next season with a better squad than they have right now Newcastle will become a team that everyone would want to watch.

Barca have a strong squad that can make them reach the quater finals of the competition, the only thing I can say they don't currently have is a sharp attacker as it seems Lewandowski has lost it strength because of his age.He performed very well last season and he was the top scorer, but this season,he hasn't done so well,he misses alot of chances and it's making the squad lack goals in some games they were supposed to score many goals.
They lost this game because they were already relaxed about their position in the group,so losing to Antwerp is not too bad.Xavi will have to concentrate on their next game in the Lalliga so they can meet up points with the league leaders.

I guess they will learn from this experience. I think they deserved at least a draw from last night which would have meant their European adventure would have continued, but it didn’t happen. I’m immensely of Newcastle. Group of death and they didn’t play like an underdog or a fearful side throughout the group stage, as they were the less experienced side in the competition. I think they did tried. And they  are on a journey and that journey will bring us success.

I won’t say it was a total failure for them as they didn’t progress past this group stage, but going from battling relegation to playing in the champions league in such a short space of time is a huge achievement. The lack the experience and quality depth wasn’t available. They are going to need a few more years yet to compete at this level.

Injuries are harmful for all clubs, just more or less but you pointed some injuries of their attacking players, now see. Newcastle United scored first and lost that advantage, then lost the decisive match too. Like in some other matches in this group, they could win those matches with goals they scored first.

In my opinion, their problems are from midfielders and defenders who failed in defensive and let opponents scoring too many goals and won over Newcatsle United. In Champions League, Newcatsle United played well generally and they can be proud of their performances. If they can join it again next season, I expect better performances from them.

You don’t think that they only have losses in the attack line, look at the list of injured Newcastle players and it will become clear to you that they have losses in all positions.

I said at the beginning of the season that Howe could face two types of problems, either a decline or a large number of injuries. Last season it was easier for them because they only played in the Premier League, this time they had to give their best in every Champions League match and this became a critical tiredness on the players.

Now is the time when Newcastle only has the Premier League left, they will be able to recover and improve their results again, and Howe needs to draw conclusions from this situation, if he does not do this, he will get exactly the same result in the future.

Oh my gosh, it happened again and this time it was PSG's turn to dash my hopes of winning the multibet. Sad

I can't understand why PSG always destroys my winnings when I bet on them in the Champions League and even though the match against Dortmund ended in a draw, they should have won last night's match. So many opportunities were created and there was a moment where Mbappe managed to get past the goalkeeper but there was Niklas Sule who managed to block his shot.

Even though at first I started betting on 65 minutes and above for all matches, I was very confident in the two teams that could possibly win from group F and that was Milan and PSG. For Milan, they managed to answer my predictions and unfortunately PSG disappointed me again. Meanwhile, for the other two matches, I also correctly took the over 3.5 result for the Antwerp vs Barcelona match and am not sure Barcelona will be able to turn things around. On the other hand, Celtic vs Feyenoord is also a match that does not have any impact on the group position so I take a double chance for one of the teams to win.

Well, the Champions League matchday 6 on Wednesday was also not in my favor and it seems like this is the first time I haven't made anything in group stage betting.

I saw the game Newcastle played and lost in the EPL and I was like, ok they have a good reason for losing that game but this game against Ac Milan was so annoying to see the home side getting that goal that should have been the only lifeline they had but they couldn't defend to the last. I expected more from the EPL team (Newcastle) but they played like fatigue had gotten hold of them all.
To me I prefer the Newcastle of last season to this one we're seeing now, these set of players are not really up to the task and I don't see them coming back to compete in the UCL next season, this is the end of Newcastle playing the champions league.
This is the stats Newcastle generates from the UEFA Champions League. They're competitive, we know that but they lacks the confidence and experience to follow up these elite clubs and besides there group becomes the very challenging group in UEFA Champions League this season. Group F comprises of Paris Saint-Germain, Borrusia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle united, these clubs are here not to jeopardize their actions of not qualifying. The end of the UCL road for Newcastle United this season, the Magpies losts to AC Milan which would have made then see the european spot but got defeated, Eddie Howe will work out plans to become stronger next time.
Newcastle's performance in this season's UEFA Champions League group stage might not be enough to have taken them to the knockout stages of the competition but it wasn't as bad as that of their English counterparts Manchester United who found themselves in a more favorable group than that of Newcastle. Despite been drawn in the most difficult group of the competition after twenty years Newcastle's of absence in the competition Newcastle still have delivered a good performance and were seconds away from claiming a huge victory at the Parc des Princes, the home ground of Paris Saint Germaine last two weeks before they were denied by a stoppage time controversial penalty which Kylian Mbappe converted.

Manchester United on the other had a very poor outing in the competition this year because many including bookmakers expected them to join Bayern Munich as the two clubs that should make it out if the Group B. In a group that consists of other clubs like Galatasaray and Copenhagen, Manchester United was only able to win just one game out of the six games played and finished fourth in the group. I'm still surprised that the club is yet to sack their manager Erik Ten Hag
Sincerely speaking there is no comparison between Newcastle and Manchester United this season. Moreover the same Newcastle has bitten them in the league. It's just unfortunate that they had to exit the champions league in this manner. I don't even want to talk about Manchester United as their performance is really below their standard. If Newcastle was seeded in the group Manchester United was, they would have come out of the group as runners up or win the group self.

Group stage was very unfair for Newcastle United to be honest. Considering how bad Manchester United was in that group with Galatasaray and Kopenhag, Newcastle could go even to next round if they were in that group.

It was not unfair but bad luck for them in the drawing but we cant say that Newcastle will be able to qualify if they were in Man United position. We cant put aside the fact that the overall performance of Newcastle is dropped a lot recently as proven with their previous 2 matches in EPL. They were beaten by Everton and Spurs with 3 goals difference. Basically Newcastle played well against Milan in the first half by dominating the ball possession, shots on goal etc and Milan was not even able to create 1 shot on goal in the 1st half. Surprisingly Milan were able to improve a lot in the 2nd half and create more goal attempts than Newcastle. It proves that there was something wrong with Newcastle and it may also happen if they were in Man United position.
Newcastle was very unlucky because they had to enter the group stage in Group F along with strong teams, when in fact the other three teams were the most experienced teams in the Champions League. Milan, PSG and Dortmund. They are all familiar with matches in the Champions League. Because almost every season they always come to UCL. In contrast to Newcastle, which has very little experience in the UCL.

Talking about whether Newcastle will progress to the next stage or not if they are in Group A. I think the answer is quite difficult. Because if you look at the current facts, Newcastle has actually lost its consistency after they lost many players due to injury. And currently in the EPL Newcastle is ranked below Man Utd. So we don't know whether Newcastle will be better than Man Utd. But I personally actually see the potential for Newcastle to be successful if they are in Group A. Because somehow Newcastle has a stronger mentality when playing in the UCL. This is different from Man Utd, where the players' mentality seems to weaken when playing in the UCL. But now it's all over for the group stage. And it's a shame that Newcastle and Man Utd didn't even make it to the Europa League group stage.
