Girona was a strong contender last season despite not winning the league and I expect them to get better next season so we should also watch out for them when we point out other teams that can possibly win the league next season.

Could we see Girona become a surprise club among the strong teams in the champions league? maybe the answer is not available for now but anything can still happen. They did have a good season last season in the domestic league and their strengths do need to be tested in a bigger competition to prove their worthiness here.

As long as coach Michel is still the coach of Girona it should be no problem but it is quite unfortunate that they lost some of their players in the summer and I think that will make them a little weak. Arthem Dovbyk is expected to be a goal hungry striker and maybe he will also enter the list of top scorers in the champions league if his sharpness does not dull.
Girona remind me of Newcastle in the Champions League, I think they might try their best to advance to knockout stage but I won't think much about them since some of their players are out already and they might not be able to replicate such form but maybe they might be fortunate to do better than Newcastle

If Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are the top three clubs in the Champions League, then I think one more club should be added here and that is Arsenal. Maybe we don't see such a good performance from Arsenal in the Champions League, that's why we can't put this team in the list of favorite teams.
If you add Arsenal to the list, you will have to consider to add more clubs to it. Arsenal is good but not like a very strong team with too much better competitiveness than many clubs around Europe. Arsenal are not much better than Barcelona and if you bring this question up for discussion, there will not come to any universal conclusion. It means these clubs are not different too much in quality and competitiveness.

Quote
Injury problems are unwelcome and can happen to every club, but Arsenal's players are known to have the most injuries every season.
Injury issue was most commonly in era of Arsene Wenger and several previous years. It seems that in last two seasons, injury is no longer biggest problem in Arsenal and it helps them to play impressive in Premier League and Champions League.

Manchester City and Real Madrid always give a lot of importance to their domestic league and Champions League but we don't see that in case of Arsenal. Arsenal may take the English Premier League tournament very seriously but they are not too interested in the Champions League tournament. If they had given more importance to the Champions League tournament, their performances in the Champions League would not have been so bad on a regular basis, while in the English Premier League they are rightly second in the points table.

Arsenal are just beginning to pick form in the premier league as they weren't title contender before but for the last two seasons, they have been the only one chasing Manchester city. I think Arsenal wants to win the premier league first before they start concentrating on the champions league as it would be much easier to win the premier league than to win the championship league. The champions league has alot of heavyweight clubs that arsenal can't comfortably win. There's Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester city and Liverpool is right there above them when it comes to champions league therefore winning the premier league should be their priority first.
Every team of course wants to do well in every tournament and try their best to do well but I haven't noticed much of Arsenal's activity in the Champions League tournament. Arsenal have only focused on the English Premier League even though they have not been successful there in the last two seasons. If you want to do well in a tournament like the Champions League, you have to prepare in advance, but we have not seen Arsenal from Arsenal's side. Each season only strengthens the starting XI lineup but Arsenal lag behind all other teams when it comes to replacing them when the starting XI is injured. As the transfer window is still open, they need to buy players who can provide good support in case of injury to the starting eleven. If this is how the team is built, at least Arsenal will do much better than any other season in the Champions League.
I think Arsenal have fought their best in the champions league tournament, it's just that maybe they are not used to and do not have high qualifications to compete in the champions league, as we know that the champions league has heavy-beart clubs, they are the strongest opponents from their respective domestic leagues so it is very difficult to get a win in the champions league.

The impossible thing for Arteta to do is to waste time in the champions league, because they have always entered the champions league so far so it is very difficult to say that the champions league is just a formality match for Arsenal, while there are many teams out there who want to enter the champions league.

The champions league is indeed very extraordinary and yes Arsenal need to pay attention to their team again to be able to compete, some substitutes as a second choice when one of the core players is injured they have a substitute who is worthy of competing and can carry out the same task and in ability and performance should not have a very far difference between substitutes and core players because it will be very heavy in a team.
Injury problems are unwelcome and can happen to every club, but Arsenal's players are known to have the most injuries every season. If you have looked at Arsenal's performance in the last Champions League season, they have not performed where we would consider them the best team for the Champions League.

Arsenal need to plan to do well in the Champions League in the same way that Real Madrid plan to win the Champions League trophy. They should consider the Champions League tournament as mandatory, leaving the Premier League as a secondary option, but they will do well in the Champions League

Nice question. This reminds me of teams like Malaga, Leicester doing nice things in the Champions League after having a great season in their domestic leagues.  Smiley  However I'm not sure if Girona can keep this level... It is very important to preserve the current squad quality above all else. Otherwise team spirit might not be good enough.

They are actually making new good transfers such as Abel Ruiz and Krejci so far. But players like Aleix Garcia, Savinho, Yan Couto, Eric Garcia have left. Dovbyk is also likely to leave. Atletico Madrid and Roma are interested lately.

Kane has no titles at all and the situations are completely different on all sides. I'm not saying that a player like Mbappe is a panacea, but he significantly strengthens an already very strong squad that is capable of winning the Champions League. Real have been playing at the highest level in the Champions League for the last couple of seasons, so I don't rule out that happening again this season
These two players are of course quite different because Mbappe has won many trophies with PSG, but he failed to win the UCL trophy with PSG. And if Harry Kane certainly hasn't tasted a prestigious trophy with his old team or with Bayern Munich so he is quite ambitious to win a trophy this season. So speaking of these two players, of course they are strikers who are hungry for goals because they are often the top scorers on the teams they play for. For this reason, we will see how they fare in the Champions League this season.
For Real Madrid, they are getting stronger and in my opinion, Mbappe's arrival has made them favorites again to become champions this season.
Apart from that, we cannot forget the words of luck and surprises that will decorate the Champions League journey this season. Will Leverkusen make a surprise in the Champions League because previously Leverkusen broke many records in their journey in the European league and in the domestic league.
Kane for me, doesn't even need to be in the picture, ever since he left Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich, I haven't seen much significance in terms of improvement in goal scored compared to when he was in Hotspur, even in the just concluded Europe 2024, his contributions to the English national team was less impactful.  let's just hope the arrival of Vincent Kompany will spark up an improvement on kane and the Bayern team this coming.
Mbappé will certainly increase the numbers of accolades in his career upon joining Madrid, he has been passionate to win the champions league and Madrid has all the trappings to give him that opportunity, I just believe we will see more of what the French Man has in-stock in Santiago bernabéu.

As for Leverkusen, of course they will come with a lot of suprise no doubt, but don't forget that, this is not the Europa League, this is the champions League which comes with different aura, they will have to face the very best team from different leagues in Europe.

It's really a shame anyway that a player like Kane has never won anything. It's a shame that the only year in which he could have won something, in the end he didn't win anything with Bayern because another team like Leverkusen arrived. What a fantastic story life is. ..

I think the problem is from the coach mentality because PSG has money and they should be able to buy a professional coach that will be able to use the resources he has to win UCL. Why I said this is because when PSG had the best players in the club that was when their performance in UCL was worst which means he doesn't know how to mange quality players.

Mbappe will definitely be missed by the club but I believe that another striker will take his role and we will be surprised on how he will be scoring goals even though he might not be as sharp as Mbappe because there are some critical matches that Mbappe experience will turn the game around in favor of PSG so those moments will be missed.
Luis Enrique has the ability to be the best coach and maybe it will take time for him to build a stronger team. His arrival at PSG has brought big changes and indeed has not succeeded in the Champions League but compared to the previous coach, Luis Enrique is much better in terms of managing the team and making players more solid. Now they need to find a replacement for Mbappe and if they get a good player then I am sure they will be much better.

Every player who leaves will definitely be missed, especially Mbappe, who is one of the important players in the team, but the arrival of other players will make everything forgotten because the club's journey must be maintained with new stars who will later provide the same thing.

Real Madrid abandoned La Liga in the last two seasons because they were not in better form, Ancelotti believes that their strength was not enough to win La Liga and the Champions League in the previous two seasons, so they gave up La Liga and focused on the Champions League; at the end of the season, Real Madrid was unable to win a single trophy because in the Champions League, they were eliminated by Manchester City in the semifinals. Real Madrid performance last season showed that the Champions League was not their top target, they focused on every competition, which is why they won as many trophies as possible.

However, if Barcelona get the players they are about to sign before the start of next season, they will have a chance to win La Liga over Real Madrid, they must be consistent with their games, not like how they were last season when they lost to weak teams. I believe they will be able to defeat Real Madrid next season and win La Liga, but they will not be able to win the Champions League.
How about now, Real Madrid are currently in their best form they would ever wished to be in other for them to compete for as much titles and I don't see any chances of them losing the La Liga not even to Barcelona who has been the most contender. Barcelona are still building up their team with new players/coach and a lot of mistakes would be made causing them to lose points unlike Madrid that is already balanced. Mbappe seems to have blended too quick with the team making them already perfect and a bigger threat especially in the La Liga.

Barcelona are not even close to win the Champions League, seems not even Madrid aswell but Manchester City are up to their game this time, and they just the favourite to win it this time.

Of course, Real Madrid current performance is exactly what Ancelotti would like to see every season, however, I am talking about the Real Madrid 2022/2023 sessions when they were not in a good shape, we saw how they lost many games and unable to win a trophy. At this point, no team will underestimate or compete against Real Madrid. I disagree that Manchester City is the favorite team to win the next Champions League. Real Madrid defeated Manchester City in the Champions League with the players they had last season, and Madrid has now added another player to improve their performance. With Mbappe in Real Madrid, they are still the favorite team to win the Champions League next season.

The only major challenge that Barcelona will have next season is changing its coach, which could make it difficult for the players to get used to the new manager. Barcelona performed poorly last season but yet finished second in the league, with Madrid leading by 10 points. So if the management signs more players, Barcelona will be a threat to Real Madrid.

If you choose 5 clubs that have the chance to become champions of the Champions League, I myself would narrow it down to 2 clubs that in my opinion have a big chance of becoming champions next season, those two clubs are Real Madrid and Manchester City. Real Madrid is the most dominant club in the Champions League with 15 Champions League wins, while Manchester City is a mature and consistent club over the last few seasons, both in the Champions League and in the Premier League.
I am not dismissing Manchester City and Real Madrid, but when you dismiss other clubs just because they have a small chance, it is very unethical. Don't act like UCL is easy, I like Madrid and I also understand the quality of Manchester City, but by giving an early conclusion, it seems like you have discredited clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Fenerbahçe will face Lugano in a rematch at home on Tuesday. Fenerbahçe, who won the first leg 4-3, has a big advantage. I think he will win decisively at home and even score 3-4 goals. Mourinho's teams usually score a lot of goals but they are not so good with the ball. He usually gave the ball to the opponent and scored on the counter-attack. Now we will have to get used to it for 2-3 weeks.

I saw the first leg of the match because I was betting on Fenerbahce winning. I thought it would be an easy win, but it turns out Lugano played quite well at home and they can really match Fenerbahce's game. Maybe the story will be different in the second leg, because in this match Fenerbahce will be the host. But still, they cannot be careless because Lugano is a team that has quite good ball control and relentless efforts.
Fenerbahce didn't have anything special in the first leg despite scoring 4 goals and taking the lead on aggregate, but in terms of play it seems like they still have some problems in their attacking patterns.
Mou seems to still be too hesitant with the scheme he wants to do because looking at the possession and attack schemes in the first leg we can see that Fenerbahce is still quite confused when attacking and defending which makes them seem to hang.

They are hesitant to set attacks directly on the other hand they are also confused when they want to defend which makes the situation less favorable for themselves in the end.
Mou still wants to implement a conservative scheme with the old-fashioned style that has always been Mou's mainstay in coaching but not with players who do have vision and play like the modern era in general which makes their scheme less cohesive. It's undeniable that 4 goals is a good thing but 3 goals in return is definitely not something that can be considered that their performance especially in defense is good for now.

Lugano has an away match against Basel today. It's difficult for them to get through against Fenerbahce and that's why they need to focus more on this match. Fenerbahce will now easily pass the round at home, so I think that they will dedicate all their intensity to the Basel match, which increases the possibility for Fenerbahce to overtake their opponent.

Here we go again... another prediction of yet an event that's has not even started, Barcelona and Realmadrid are not the only team that will be playing at the UCL I don't know where the comparison and (disrespect) is actually  coming from. There're tones of matches to witness  so I won't come to conclusion very early but it's still a "good chance"--easy to buy actually.
Next UCL will be  quite interesting as each team will have to put in more effort just to qualify and stand chance... currently  almost everyteam is building their squad just like realmadrid  but realmadrid seem to be the leading  so far.
Barcelona is an overrated team, many people still can't accept the reality if a team who perform good in the past has no guarantee will perform good in the future, Barcelona is a team that play well in the last decade, now they're nobody.

In this generation, there are only Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Inter that can consistent enough than other teams. I will not be surprising if I will see these teams in semi final.

Barcelona has dropped in performance, and I do not see them as a threat to Real Madrid winning the LA Liga. There are teams like Athletico Bilbao, Athletico Madrid and some other clubs that have been a very serious competitor for the title last season, and we expect them to do the same this season. However, with the current form of Real Madrid, I do not see any team that would win the title if not Real Madrid. It's like a tie round about their necks that is difficult to remove.

I agree with you because for some years now Barcelona has not even been close to win the league. Which has proven that they are not up to the task. Although they are showing wave in the last UCL competition and i expect them to do same this time.

The financial difficulties that Barcelona has been facing have definitely made them look like an ordinary team which makes me to ask, does it means now that a team with huge spending power can no longer be a contender for any title again? Sad how money has ruined football. But also should we say Barcelona decline is maybe attributed to their golden generation that just left, meaning they can’t build another elite team again.

Regardless of this situ Barcelona will be the true contender to Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid. The likes of Athletic Bilbao, Villarreal,  Sevilla and recently Girona cannot take the trophy away. It is usually reasons why I undermine the league sometimes and see it as a two or three house race only
There are many factors that have caused Barcelona to decline, the financial crisis is the main factor. Several expensive players that Barcelona have bought have failed to meet expectations, besides Covid 19 also played a big role in Barcelona worsening finances. Barcelona's golden generation was actually built from La Masia products, after the era of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and several other players, we realize that fewer and fewer players from the La Masia academy have managed to break into the main squad. In reality, Barcelona current situation makes it difficult for them to compete directly with Real Madrid who have more stable finances, so they can build the ideal squad depth. We realize that the competition for trophies next season will be even more competitive, but I think Barcelona will be able to put pressure on Real Madrid. Teams like Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad and even Girona may not be able to put pressure on Real Madrid throughout the season.

This is the reason why I have the feelings that Real Madrid is going to win this tournament of the Champions league or at least to say that they have high chances of winning. Much more than the Barcelona, Real Madrid have a great set of squad depth right now that they can boast of. Aside from that advantage, they also have a strong and well experienced manager like Ancelotti who understands how to lead the club to achieve their best. Real Madrid also have a good financial capacity to take more places in at any transfer windows available to them. I don't really think that Real Madrid have anything to regret now.
Considering the current quality of players at Real Madrid at the moment, there's no doubt that they stand a good chance of winning the UEFA Champions League next season and I think it's disrespectful to Real Madrid to compare them with Barcelona at the moment. Barcelona without doubt is one of the traditional clubs in Europe but at the moment, they don't appear to be strong contender for the UCL title come next season. Barcelona I believe will make it out of the group stage of the competition and probably reach the quarter finals but I don't see them go farther than the quarter finals. As for transfer, I don't expect Real Madrid to make any signing again this summer because the club already have all the needed quality players to succeed.

I think you're honestly wrong, in my opinion Real Madrid gives more importance to the Champions League, in fact the season in which Barcelona won (two years ago) they actually abandoned La Liga to focus on the Champions League.  I don't know about Manchester City, but for Real Madrid the priority is the Champions League.

I believe you are speaking based on the current squad in the Real Madrid team right now but don't forget that football is not a thing of the squad but rather good performance. The performance of Barcelona has dropped and they weren't that good last season and and this season they are faced with lots of financial issues and they couldn't bring in some players that could change the form of the team but I still think no one should write them off because they will be a strong contender for the league next season.

Girona was a strong contender last season despite not winning the league and I expect them to get better next season so we should also watch out for them when we point out other teams that can possibly win the league next season.
