That's true, but we have to realize that this is just the beginning of Ancelotti experiment with Mbappe in his squad, so there are many things that need to be polished. The match was very interesting, Atalanta managed to put up a fight even though they were not a worthy opponent for Real Madrid. Atalanta luck in the Europa League Final cannot be repeated today, congratulations to Real Madrid who have managed to add another European trophy to their collection, completing the previous Champions League trophy.

In my opinion, Ancelotti was very brave when he decided to play players with too many attacking types in one lineup, so at first glance they failed to create much creativity, fortunately they had a good finishing when the opportunity arose. Yup and it happened in today's match. The game ended with a 2-goal scoreline in favor of Madrid, so they really topped off last season's best performance with a trophy-winning finish to the season against Atalanta.

A result that was predictable from the start because it's hard to beat Madrid with the squad they have now.
The initial scheme of the match was quite interesting where Vini and Rodrygo were pulled deeper to complement Jude at second striker and Vini was used as the spearhead but in the second half the formation became 4-3-3 and actually this is much better if we look at the match between the first half and the second half actually the second half their performance was more focused.

In addition, something new that I saw in this match was that Madrid were patient with the ball especially when the match was in their favor, making them very comfortable in ball possession.

In today's match, there was confidence that Mbappe would score, and that is what happened. Quality players are not always hidden in the fight; you must see their contributions. The second half was a mess for Atalanta has they were unable to stop Real Madrid players from penetrating their defense. Real Madrid made Atalanta defense so porous in the second half with their attacking force and there was many opportunities created in the second half but only two goals was able to pass through into the net.

I won my bet today because I bet Mbappe scoring and also Madrid winning. It is fun for your bet to go as predicted, I don't see Atalanta doing any magic in this match before the game started.

Lookman is indeed a player to look out for in the European league once again, although they did not win in today's match, he have yet shown his talent and skills prowess as a striker, I like the way he controls his ball, his confidence in penetrating the defense and his ability to navigate and create more chances for the team to win. The first half was hell of a boring one. I wished for it to the end as fast as possible. But the second half is better so far. Valverde has jut scored and made the score 1-0 finally.

At the moment, Atalanta is playing cautiously, apparently their main task is not to concede a goal. I am a little disappointed that the Super Cup is held in a light format (without extra time, in case of a draw, a penalty shootout), this allows the underdogs to dry the game and wait for their chances in the penalty shootout. I'll be hoping for an early goal (in any goal, although I'm rooting for Real) so that the game gets as active as possible.

Unfortunately Atlanta couldn't clear their lines defensively as they are 2 goals down already, (goals came in through from Valverde and Mbappe respectively) .With just few minutes to the final whistle Atlanta have no chance to getting a comeback to take this game to penalty kicks. This is one game that played as every football fan has expected to go so it's not surprising to see Atlanta lose this game to Real Madrid. They were only able to put up a tough game in the first 45minutes after which the entire game took a different dimension.

Congratulations to Mbappe for his first European trophy. Many more to come boy!

With these deadly players in Madrid’s attack, I don’t think they are stoppable in the Champions League, they have all they need in the front three and they also have good playmakers that can supply them with passes.
Mbappe will surely do what we wants him to do which is to score goals and win the Champions League which he have started achieving with UEFA Super Cup, before the beginning of another season.

Mbappe have now scored in his debut for Real Madrid, he scored the second goal with an assist from Bellingham. Real Madrid are going to win the super cup with just few minutes left on the clock to bring an end to the game. Atalanta really tried their best but Real Madrid was much better than them and deserves the victory more. Atalanta are not a relenting team and their performance is not that bad to speak of, they can be a major contender in the upcoming season that is just about to start. I will keep a close eye on their games and players, I see them having a lot of potentials in their play style for the next season much more better than what we saw them displayed last season.
