The first week of league phase has ended after today's matches. Bayern Munich have made the most interesting start by a 9-2 win. They put on a good show. The new format is going to be underway in 10 days. Now teams are going to play 2 more matches than before in this stage. Once again the half of them are away and the other half are home matches. But this time every team are going to play against a different team in every match. What do you think about this format? Do you like it or have problems with adapting to it? The only difference is in this league stage. The rest of the tournament is the same format as before.
My friends have tried to explain the new format to me but I still do not understand how this will be achieved. From the explanations I have been given, I think the changes will make the champions league experience even more interesting to watch. The only disadvantage here is the amount of games played, the players are going to be exhausted from playing all these different competitions. I can’t wait to get started and see how this new system works. The first till eighth place will go next stage, from 9th until 24th it will be battle between each other to get the next 8 places for the last sixteen, then the rest is exactly like how it used to be. I think I agree that it will be better, plus there will be more fun this way since teams will face a lot more competition and it gives everyone a chance to face someone a bit more closer to them in level.

I don't like the new format but I'll wait before I cast a final negative vote. I don't like it because there is no more rematch and with a rematch there would be way too many games in this format so I think the old system was better.
I also think the draw is really bad, the fact that a computer decides who is in a group with whom is absolutely unexciting for me. The draws in the past were much better!

That's most interesting game today when in other two Salzburg and Sparta have 2:0 lead from first leg. I think thatwe can see high scoring game again. Odds for over 2.5 goals is a bit too low, I'm thinking about over 3.5 goals, but still not sure about it. And I'm feeling confident about Galatasaray win.
Galatasaray played horrible today and lost by 1-0. They really deserved it with that poor game for a long time. They actually started to take control of the game in the final moments of the match. But Young Boys scored a goal by a counter-attack instead. This was giving its signals from the start. Young Boys threatened Galatasaray defense with many of them. Anyway I think it is better for Galatasaray to get eliminated and continue in the Europa League thinking of country coefficient.

Very disappointing performance from Galatasaray. Maybe you're right that for coeficient it's better to play in Europa league, but with such squad they must play in Champions league. And what Muslera did is simply disgraceful, professional athlete can't lose his mind like he did.Galatasaray has a quite good squad however their coach can't use the players efficient enough. If the referees in Turkey didn't help them for 2 years, I don't think Galatasaray would even be able to become champions.
I'm quite sad for Slavia Prague tonight. After losing the first match by 2-0 away, they played quite well against Lille. Especially in the last minutes of the match, they wasted 2 clear goal opportunities and said goodbye to the Champions League.

Yesterday I had not much luck with my bets, only Barca in La Liga helped to cover my losses. Tonight only going with over 2.5 goals in Crvena Zvezda - Bodo/Glimt and BTTS in Slovan - Midtjylland game.

Salzburg have 2:0 lead, it's significant. Would like to see Dynamo making comeback, but I'm being realistic, it's difficult to happen. We can expect attaking approach and I'm going with BTTS here.

I decided to watch the Young Boys vs Galatasaray match. Because so far this match has brought together two teams that are quite strong and always have a large presence at the UCL. Today we will hear Champions league anthem for the first time this season, despite that it's not group stage yet. We have playoff round games today. I'm going with wins of all home teams tonight. Most confident about Bodo/Glimt, they're very hard to beat at their home pitch. Also, trying to go with over 2.5 goals in this and Dinamo Zagreb - Qarabg games.
The first leg of the play off round has already started and opened with the FK Bodø/Glimt vs Red Star, Losc vs Slavia Praha and Dinamo Zagreb vs Qarabag matches. And now the match has entered the second half and only Dinamo Zegreb has had the advantage since the first half. because they managed to score 1 goal against Qarabag in the 29th minute by Marko Pjaca. Even so, I don't think Dinamo Zagreb is playing at their highest level. But yeah, I will also trust the home team more in this play-off round.

I think that these teams will probably win the next game too, Lille specially definitely looks like they will end up with the group stage easily, they have been doing fine so far. UCL prelim qualifiers is hard to bet on, and I always said that I like to avoid them, and this is one of those cases as well.
Real Madrid and Perez trying to build a super league actually helped with this new format, and I feel like we are going to play like this for a while longer, but we may see some changes later on too.

Definitely was a very very unlucky game from Fenerbahce, they had so many chances, both woodwork and goalkeeper didn't allow them. I honestly believe that Lille didn't even deserve to go there at all, we should be considering how they are going to end up with something so much more troubled and because of that we are going to end up with issues that are beyond we can see. This means that we are going to end up with much more so that we can't really make it so it is not going to be complicated at all.
Lille is more deserving than Fenerbahce, didn't you see how the Fenerbahce - Lille match went? Lille completely dominated, starting from possession of the ball as well as goal opportunities, Fenerbahce were a little lucky because the match went to ET because of an own goal made by Diakite, even in the home game they couldn't do more. Is this team more worthy? no, Lille has more qualifications there.
