Villarreal original plan required 2 goals in the 2nd leg against Liverpool in order to have any hope of qualifying for the final. But 2 goals is a difficult one for Villarreal in the 2nd leg as Liverpool will maintain the win they have got at Anfield. Liverpool will maintain their advantage at home to Villarreal even though Villareal will try to win by more than 2 goals.
You are right. If Villarreal 1st leg is not played defensively, then the goals scored may be more than 2.
Villarreal will face Liverpool at their home Stadium, Estadio de la Cerámica. Although they lost in the first leg of the semi-final to Liverpool 2 nil. Villarreal boss, Unai Emery will follow up Jurgen Klopp side with an entire new formation because Liverpool don't played defensive football rather they play attacking game. Villarreal need to beat Liverpool 2-0 in the second leg and Villarreal are good at defending game, which may seems impossible for them. The reds won't take chances because they are one of the tough teams in EPL. The game might end in a draw, that if the reds don't come for winning.

I understand what Jurgen Klopp meant by saying that he just doesn't want to underestimate Villarreal also don't want to burden the players if they say they will win
Just look at the history of their matches in the champions league especially when playing away Liverpool always dominate and win it means they are always ready based on mental, even if Liverpool lose no more than one goal.

I think about from the history of superiority, Liverpool are simply on top of their game this season and that makes whatever Klopp does to work for the team. I expected more goals in the match after Mane scored in the 55 minutes but it didn't come. I hope Liverpool will go all the way.

I won't be so sure about Liverpool already being qualified as most of the teams are having problems when they face Villareal on home pitch. Even Klopp said that his team will face a way more stronger team next week and he expects that his team will suffer a little.

If I would have to chose the finalist would be Liverpool - Real as I don't want to see another british UCL finals ...as this is not enjoyable for neutral fans of competition.

In fact they can win by a goal difference that is enough for their capital to carry out the second leg later. I think they need to better prepare their team against a stronger team than they are facing now, Villarreal. Like what Klopp said, I think Klopp has definitely prepared his team as well as possible for the next match. It's not a difficult job now for Liverpool to step into the final for sure they also have to be careful.
actually Liverpool can win more than 2 goals if Villarreal don't play very defensively, but this result will also be very profitable for Liverpool.
Most likely when the second leg Villarreal will play a little open and attack and it will be an interesting match and I am sure if both teams play attacking then Liverpool will again be able to win the game.
with the result in the first leg maybe we can all confirm that Liverpool will be in the UCL final this season, if there are no surprises again in the second leg later.

True, for Liverpool one step into the Final, but they also have to be careful not to play like against Inter Milan, they were too careless in Leg 2. If Villareal were able to take advantage of this condition, they could have challenged Liverpool with an equaliser. Klopp must prepare his best strategy to maintain the advantage they have, and this will provide an opportunity for Klopp to return to the UCL trophy for Liverpool for the second time since he coached the Reds.

UEFA Champions League - Qualify for final

Liverpool 1.02

Manchester City FC 1.17

Real Madrid 3.50

Villarreal 8.90

Quotes of Liverpool and Villarreal look fair. But City and Real? 1.17 for City with only one goal advantage and a decisive game at the Santiago Bernabéu?  Huh
Plus, you can look at it from the other side: can Real Madrid, having three attempts, pass City once in the current conditions? If so, then the odds of 3.5 (>3) are unreasonable.

Liverpool did a supremely professional job in what was a trickier tie than it looked, and yes they look very likely now to reach the final.
Real vs Man City is certainly a lot more closely balanced than those odds suggest. If a first leg ends 4-3, then how can anyone really write-off the team that scored three and say they won't win the return match? Of course Real will be under considerable pressure, and of course beating Man City anywhere is a tough ask, but really, those odds do look quite extreme.

As we have already seen, it is quite possible to beat City - Liverpool just recently did it in the FA Cup and in a dominant style. I could understand such quotes against some average club that is close to the top clubs but is not. But this is Real - the champion of Spain and the regular winner of the Champions League. Perhaps I will take advantage of the bookmakers' mistake and bet on Real  Smiley

Although Manchester City won against Real Madrid, but they're played on their home and Madrid able to scored many goals. This will be a problem in the second leg where the match will happen on Real Madrid's home. Pep Guardiola seems couldn't stopped Benzema, he need to analyze the first leg and find the way to stop Benzema for the second leg.
Yes indeed, a narrow 4-3 victory still cannot guarantee Manchester City to qualify but even so, I personally still believe that Pep Guardiola is able to form his team to continue to qualify. Regarding the strategy that will be applied later, whether it's defending or continuing to play attacking, I think Manchester City will be able to maintain this advantage. Nothing is certain yet, because this season there have been quite a few surprises, both in the UCL and in other European tournaments as well.
Agree Manchester City have to be careful that Real Madrid's game will be quite terrible if they get a goal back. The slight difference still will not make Manchester City in an advantageous condition. Because when playing at home they only get a difference of 1 point, indicating that Man City's game is not as they expected.

Villarreal must not use 100% attacking strategy, because it will open up space for Liverpool to counterattack which can endanger their goal. Liverpool's game is very fast, Villarreal will find it difficult to keep up with Liverpool's attacks if they play openly.
IMHO, i don't that there is anything Villarreal can do, Liverpool will still score goals and win at Villarreal even if they score first. If you try to defend against Liverpool, they will surely somehow find a way through, if you try to attack, they are very good at counterattacking and can turn things around real quick. Liverpool is already in the final, the question now is who will join them, will it be Manchester city or Real Madrid?

Well for Liverpool I totally agree then we just have to wait for the winner between Madrid vs Manchester City both teams still have the same chance

Manchester city looked so perfect in the first leg where they managed to beat real Madrid with a score of 4-3 even though this result is not a guarantee for Manchester city to qualify for the next round because there is still a second leg to be held at the Santiago Bernabeu, I feel there is still a lot One thing that must be addressed by Guardiola in order to maintain hope of qualifying for the final is the loss of Manchester city's defense, which was raised by Ruben Dias where they conceded three goals which should not have happened, Manchester City must continue to improve their back line in the second leg later.

I think we should be ready for surprises in the next match. Manchester City is a stronger team and has a better chance of becoming a champion, but Real Madrid is also very good, we know what quality football we watched in the previous match.
So it is not easy to predict who will win in the next match, both teams have a chance Smiley
Manchester City must keep the odds when it comes to the bernabeu, capital in the first leg must be used as well as possible by manchester City to get to the final. The only player that Man City players have to guard is Benzema, he can do anything to stop Man City.
Pep Guardiola must play a tiki-taka style in order to control the game, Man City must be prepared for a deadly counter-attack from Real Madrid. Manchester City had the slight advantage, but Real Madrid could surprise them with their trademark quick counter-attack.

Real Madrid scored a lot of goals in the first match, City may have problems in this regard. Both teams will prepare for this match, but Pep Guardiola is a very good coach and I'm sure he knows well that he can beat his opponent in this match no matter what.
If Real Madrid scores an early goal in this match, Manchester City will start to play more offensive and they can concede a goal from the counterattack. It will be an exciting match Smiley

I agree with that, it is almost certain that Liverpool will be in the final and it is very likely that in the second leg later when Villarreal tries to play attacking to cover up 2 goals down in the first leg it will make it easier for Liverpool to score again and win.
while in the other matches Man City and Real Madrid I think they still have the same chance to advance to the final because Real Madrid are only 1 goal behind and the second leg will be played at home to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is the favourite on some of their advantages but Manchester City can't be ruled out they have speed and compactness which is very dangerous for the opponent's defense it's just that we don't know how the match will go.

it is very possible to happen, Villarreal played very defensively in the first leg and most likely after being 2 goals down in the second leg Villarreal will play in attack and so it is very possible for Liverpool to score again and win, I have no doubts about that.
In the second leg Villarreal will also be seen although trying to attack as being 2 goals down in the Champions League is a bit difficult for any club looking to get to the final.
And one more thing is Liverpool, which this season always looks better in playing in all matches so that its consistency always gives very good results for Liverpool.

Liverpool can be said to have confirmed one step in the final round, having won 2-0 against Villarreal in the first leg.  The victory makes Liverpool's move easier when they travel to Villarreal's headquarters next week.  Liverpool is enough to draw or lose 1-0 to ensure themselves qualify for the top party of the Champions League this season.  Villarreal is a bit difficult to qualify for the final, because they must be able to win 3-0, and against Liverpool it will not be easy, at this time the Reds have a complete squad in all lines.
From the start, Villareal was not so superior in the champions league, but because they were consistent in playing they were able to beat big teams, but this time they faced a club that was at their best, not only the champions league dj in the domestic league Liverpool were also very consistent, I I'm sure Villareal will struggle in the second leg

I think Villarreal team has learned from their mistakes in the first leg with Liverpool which their coach will not allow such thing to happen in their second leg. Villarreal will defeat Liverpool 3:1 in this second leg to prove to their fans that this title belong to them in this season. This second leg will not end up draw, no matter how hard the match maybe but it will definitely be for the favour of Villarreal.

Manchester City will try Madrid abilities at home as we know Manchester City is an aggressive team no matter where they play they always score goals
Madrid still depends on Benzema, imagine if Man City players can keep Benzema Madrid will have a hard time scoring goals this is what i'm worried about
The second leg will be a life and death match for both teams to get tickets to the final, Manchester City, who won 4-3 on aggregate in the first leg, will certainly appear aggressive at home to Madrid to increase their advantage, but I think it will be very dangerous if Manchester City playing open at the bernabeu later, I think ancelotti who failed to achieve at least a draw at the etihad must have analyzed their weaknesses in the first leg, so in the second leg maybe madrid will play differently, turning off benzema can indeed be one way to prevent madrid from scoring goals, but apart from benzema, guardiola should also think about how to stop Vinicius Junior, who has speed in carrying the ball.
