I see a significant difference between their performance now and the one in the last season. Ancelotti has started to make this difference and his influence on the team is really big now. And Real Madrid have a huge history in the Champions League. They eliminated PSG like that thanks to their being an experienced team in this tournament. Chelsea are another experienced team maybe but this time might be different.

I actually think that the one who has the potential to become champions in the UCL this season is Liverpool. man city is indeed a very strong team and champion candidates but they will definitely be eliminated (perhaps when facing ATM).

Liverpool have a fantastic results today against Watford to keep the pressure on Manchester City in the league but I think they will find it hard to kick out Atletico Madrid in this tournament,I think ATM have pick form at the right time, there game today shows that the still got fire power in Joan Felix and Luis Suarez both are so good and can score for fun right now,same thing with Chelsea and Real Madrid, with Chelsea results today they will be very weak in confidence in the showdown in the champions League next week.madrid will be thinking that Chelsea has lots of weakness to take advantage of.

I disagree, they can be "trusted" in Champions League matches, they play quite well within that framework. You just have to understand that in Champions League matches they are no longer playing against epl teams, but against teams from other leagues and they have to change their style of play or the opponent forces them to do so leaving no other options for the Citizens. Either way, there is always a stronger team, which is why they cannot win the league

Villarreal - Bayern Munich game might end up with an unexpected result. Because it is not in Allianz Arena and Villarreal are a solid team as for their defense. Bayern Munich should get ready for a tougher matchup after the Salzburg one. Maybe Bayern Munich will still succeed in eliminating Villarreal on aggregate but the players might be worn out by a solid defense line especially in the first leg. I think the first leg will be ending in a draw by 1-1. And there might be a slight chance for Villarreal to win by a one-goal difference too but this would be a really surprising result.

I've been following Man City's history (at least since Pep has been coach) and what I've learned from it is that in the important CL games ManCity has always failed. That is also a reason why they have not won the CL so far. And in my opinion, that was largely due to Pep Guariola. By the way, the same thing happened at Bayern Munich when he was eliminated three times in a row in the semifinals of the CL. The Bayern coaches before and after him have won the CL with Bayern, however. This clearly shows a pattern and if Pep does not change this, he will not win the CL this year either. It's quite a shock that Pep Guardiola is yet to win the Champions League again since leaving Barcelona probably he needs Messi and players who can be on the level of Xavi/ Iniesta to able to win the competition again. I think this Manchester City team isn't bad, just probably he needs a prolific striker but nonetheless that team is capable of winning any team in Europe. Guardiola will need to look into his adamant approach to games and do something about that because there's no Messi/Iniesta that can produce a moment of magic for him in this City side.

They must already improve their capability both players' quality and mentality to avoid the same mistake as the previous UCL season. Don't forget that their head coach is Pep Guardiola, one of the smartest coaches ever. I think they can reach the final stage and probably win the UCL trophy this season. They have a good squad and most of the players are healthy, without injury issues. In the current stage, Atletico Madrid should be a weaker team compared with Manchester City. We have only three days for the first two games to be underway. On the first day of the quarter finals, there are games like Benfica - Liverpool and Manchester City - Atletico Madrid. I see a solid victory for Liverpool in this game. Benfica eliminated Ajax but I don't see their chance as high against Liverpool just as it wasn't against Ajax as well. Liverpool would finish the job in the first leg. And the other game would be more competitive maybe. But I still expect Manchester City to take full control of the game earlier and defeat Atletico Madrid.

So whether they learnt from their mistake or not there are strong teams available whose eyes are on the Champions League Cup. Teams like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City , Real Madrid, Chelsea and others. It will be so interesting this time around. Meanwhile Manchester City will qualify for this present round at least.

Personally, it seems to me that the main reason why Manchester City has not won the Champions League title so far is the lack of luck, but also the excessive caution of their coach Guardiola in key matches for the title.
Guardiola has yet to prove that he can win the Champions League with a team other than Barcelona and in which Messi doesn't play.
Only then will he be able to say that he is the greatest coach and Manchester City the best club.
