Quarterfinal first leg matches begin. The Benfica-Liverpool match will be challenging and with plenty of goals.  Benfica will win. My favorite is City, in City-A.Madrid match. I am waiting for a surprise in the Villarreal-B.Munih match. Villarreal will be the winning team. Chelsea football club which is having a hard time will win if they concentrate on the Madrid match.
The two top premier league clubs will not want to miss their chance of moving to the next stage of the competition. Benfica might  seem as a threat to liverpool but i see Liverpool winning with a slim aggregate difference. Mancity is the favorite in their game against Athletico. We saw how Athletico struggled to beat Manchester united even when united isn't on form. The English league has it's unique style and Athletico might not match up to City

For Chelsea's match against Real Madrid the first leg performance will decide what should be expected. It might be look like an equal chance for both team but for me Madrid has a higher chance in the game.
It will become less fun and easier if the one topping the premiere league table to become the 1st runner up, if any club apart from either Chelsea, Liverpool or man city the tournament will be less fun and I believe in the next coming round will be a knock out stage.

Only three days left to have a start in the quarter final games. And yeah, I also think that we might see a surprise in the Villarreal - Bayern Munich game. Maybe it wouldn't be a win but it is likely to see a draw at the end. When we think that Salzburg were nearly defeating Bayern Munich home, we can expect Villarreal to do better too. Villarreal are a way more solid team than Salzburg in the end. On the other hand, Bayern Munich experienced this before and they would prepare themselves better I assume.

I dont think there will be a surprise at all i think Bayern Munich will win both matches against Villereal.  I think they learned their lesson against Salzburg to not go easy against a weaker team so they might even finish everything in their away game against Villereal

Although Man City is still playing in three competitions, this will not distract Man City's focus when playing in the Champions League. Man City are an experienced team, so they already know how to keep their main players fit for many competitions. So I think the chances of Atletico beating Man City are very slim. there is even a possibility that Man City will win against Atletico easily. Although I also know Atletico are not a weak team, but after all the quality of Man City players is very far when compared to Atletico. So it is very difficult to expect any surprises that Atletico will show when facing Man City.
I do believe that league is a very important title for them, probably the most important one even though they are still in UCL, because premier league pays so much that it is nearly as much as UCL and it is their national one. FA cup however is not really that important, I mean it would be good to have, but it is not like a must at all, Liverpool and Klopp known to not even play their best players there.

So, the only titles City should care about is premier league and UCL, which will be hard to achieve. UCL is very ruthless, we have seen what happened to PSG, they were a great team and 5 minutes of being bad caused them to get eliminated. Which is why they need to focus on that a lot more. League could have recovery, UCL won't have that.

Vinicius is the second highest scorer in La Liga and Real Madrid have a large pool of players who can score a goal. But in general, Chelsea in the EPL has similar statistics to Real in La Liga - Chelsea has +38 in goals, and Real has + 34. Real has a 69% percentage of games won, and Chelsea has 60% - here Real have a serious advantage, but it is more likely indicates a lower average level of teams compared to the EPL. In general, I think it will be a fight of approximately equal opponents.
It's really balanced indeed.
apart from the results of the EPL and La Liga, look at their performance in the UCL and even their goal ratio is almost the same.
During the Group Stage Chelsea scored 13 goals there and Madrid scored 14 goals. in the Round of 16 Chelsea scored 4 goals from 2 legs and Madrid created 3 goals there.
with this they have scored 17 goals from the UCL competition this season and it is really worth waiting for their game to be like now

The results of the group stage for the top teams do not matter - everyone knows which two teams will advance from the group in most cases. Comparing the playoffs of Real and Chelsea is also incorrect - Chelsea had the easiest Lille, and Real had the hardest PSG. Therefore, I took the national championships where a long distance has already been covered and the statistics are more or less adequate.

right, my mistake for not comparing their opponents in the play offs Cheesy But is it good enough to compare with the domestic league, because there are some clubs that focus more on the UCL but there are also those who focus on the league they are capable of in the league domestic respectively.
even so, it's still worth seeing and indeed in this case it doesn't look like Madrid are too lucky because they always face tough opponents

Therefore, the match Chelsea vs Real Madrid which will be played on April 7 is still difficult to predict who will make it through and this match will prove to be a midfield for both teams.
Let's just say Real Madrid will win at home like they beat PSG but they will lose in England. Chelsea should have used the first leg to win because they were playing at home, but the second leg will be a win for Real Madrid because I don't think there's anything wrong with hoping the same scenario will be repeated in the quarter-finals involving Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Chelsea's quality is not the same as PSG's because I think Chelsea is better than them if the mentality of the team is the reference. Chelsea can beat Real Madrid and vice versa can also happen. Real Madrid are expected to qualify but it really depends on the chances they have during the match.
I don't get why its so hard for people to see that this Chelsea's side is more mentally stable and stronger than this present Real Madrid team. Yes, Real Madrid is a bigger team with many trophies and experience than Chelsea but at moment, Chelsea is the best team in the world and they proven that even more with the way they have been able to keep winning games amidst the storm and crisis rocking the club. I sincerely think they have what it takes to upset Real  Madrid again.

I'm banking on Chelsea to win both games.
That is quite a bold prediction mate, especially when the team in question elimimated PSG, are you a Chelsea fan Wink? It is definitely possibe that Chelsea wins both legs, it is also possible Madrid wins both legs, it is that sort of game, two big teams, two European giants, though Madrid is obviously the 'bigger giant', two super powerhouses, i can go on and on, but my point is just that i find it very difficult to confidently predict games of this magnitude as it can go either way cause the two teams are somewhat evenly matched. I would hope Madrid wins though, cause i do not like Chelsea Wink.

The midfielders are still in good shape, but they always suffer against high-intensity midfielders, like they did against Barcelona's high-pressing midfielders; playing both Kross and Modric together is no longer an option; they must find a solution. Without Bezemba, the team appears to be average; this is what occurs when a team is built on a single player.

Chelsea outplayed them in both legs of the Champions League last season, and little has changed in both teams. Real Madrid's weakness has been their midfielders when it comes to tracking back, as Modric and Kloss are both aging and find it difficult to perform well when playing against younger midfielders, which was Chelsea's edge over them last season, I'm banking on Chelsea to win both games.
I don't think so, their midfielders are still good enough for now but the problem is they are still struggling in attack. when Benzema can't play they always lose their way in attack and goal scorer.
They still can't replace Benzema there and it's quite dangerous if Benzema can't play because this is proven when they play in La Liga when Benzema can't play then indirectly their performance drops

Real Madrid vs Chelsea draws is one fixture I never looked up to or wished never happened at this point of the game. They are both champions of the UCL and having one to eliminate the other right now takes off some of the fun of the game for me. Never the less, they've got to face themselves on Wednesday 6th April and if I don't know any better, I think here ends the line for Chelsea as I don't see a way that they would make it past Real Madrid. After such an awesome come back Real Madrid did with PSG, its shows there level of preparedness and determination to win the league once more without CR7 on the team. It makes it hard to not picture them in the finals.

look, after the results of the bookmarkers I too now begin to think so
maybe there are some surprises in store for us, but basically the chances that Atletico will win are basic compared to that Manchester will win

i hope we have a big surprise Tongue
Not sure there will be a surprise from Atletico though indeed, these two teams or especially Atletico are not a weak team. But here Manchester City prioritizes the UCL title, it seems that victory is the result that will certainly be obtained. But if we consider their focus on the local league then at least it will disturb their focus in the UCL a bit, but as a big team I believe Manchester City will be able to share their focus and rotate players well.

only one goal difference, because usually Atlético play defensively against a stronger team. That's what makes it difficult for Man City to score many
goals against Atletico.
Besides, I also said that Manchester City is very likely to win and also, the statistics of Manchester City and Atletico this season seem to clearly show that Manchester City is a team that deserves to be favourites. But if Atletico only play defensively then I think in the end the winner will be on penalties, because even when the mediocre teams in the EPL play really defensively it makes it difficult for Manchester City to score. Can't imagine if a team like Atlético only played with full defense, then Manchester City would certainly experience a stalemate to make a goal.

Liverpool is expected to top their group and the fixture may give Liverpool a tough play but am confident in Liverpool's ability to push through this stage of the league which will lead to an increase in their overall point.

News from the past? Okay  Grin

The 2020/2021 season when Chelsea managed to thwart Real Madrid was not luck, but the solid midfield driven by Ngolo Kante made Real Madrid unable to build attacks properly and Ngolo Kante is very worthy of being used as Man of the match at Stamford Bridge and at the Santiago Bernabeu .

In the 2021/2022 season, Chelsea midfield consistency was still good in the Champions League until the last match against Lille, but Real Madrid also had a pretty good midfield with Luca Modric's outstanding performance.

Therefore, the match Chelsea vs Real Madrid which will be played on April 7 is still difficult to predict who will make it through and this match will prove to be a midfield for both teams.

This scenario is suitable for almost all confrontations  Grin if we exclude the rare options of playing buses against fans of aimlessly roll the ball in the center of the field. Real and Chelsea are rational teams, so they will not mindlessly go on the attack, but will try to outplay the opponent in the center of the field and who will be more successful in this will win the match. Attackers without the ball are unlikely to be able to tip the scales in favor of their club on their own.

The UK government will take care of them if they cannot find a buyer in the mean time. Everything is fast tracked but come on,,, no need to mention anymore about them being affected by this in terms of morale.

Do you think Derby players are playing better or worse because of their financial problems?

Or Barcelona? Maybe they were playing really bad at some point but this was because of a bad manager and losing all their players due to a bad board and bad mistakes. The finances alone does not make a club have low morale because if they did,,, then they are a weak club anyway and do not deserve to play Smiley

One thing is the financial problems of the club (which the players may not even feel because their financial interaction with the club is in accordance with the contract), and another thing is the change of ownership, which can lead to a radical change in the policy of the club. In the second case, the future becomes very uncertain and this affects the players because they think about it. Professionals, of course, know how to abstract and do their job no matter what, but still, at least a little bit, it affects them.

Champions League 2020/2021 season Chelsea managed to beat Real Madrid 2-0 at Stamford Bridge so that Chelsea managed to qualify because at the Santiago Bernabeu they got a 1-1 draw based on head to head in the UCL. This season will look different and it is still difficult to predict who will advance to the semifinals. Even so, I believe Real Madrid will qualify. Chelsea's chance to qualify is still there by not letting Real Madrid dominate possession.

That wasn't a managed win buddy, instead was a convincing one because we outplayed Real Madrid in both legs with Kante dominating the midfield and getting the mad of the match award. Real Madrid scoring Chelsea was due to one brilliant Karim Benzema moment. He's the only one that can cause some kind of issue to our defense. The rest front line of Real Madrid aren't of a threat as we have well experienced players to handle whatever they throw at us.

Chelsea plays a possessive football so we won't be letting Real Madrid dominate the ball, their midfield currently can't match ours. Hopefully Tuchel continues playing Kai havertz instead of playing Lukaku upfront so we can have everyone engage in the play and not having to play one man down. Probably as the game progress, Lukaku gets introduced and get us some finalizing goal to kill the match.
