Well, if so, that completely changes things.
Considering that Abramovich made a huge investment in Chelsea (from the money he stole in Putin's Russia), he would have recovered huge funds if they were not completely frozen. It seems that this time such "tricks" will not help him (and I hope other bandits from Putin's gang) and they will at least lose part of their capital.
Not it is official what I said. He is allowed to sell the club but he is not allowed to profit from the sale in anyway. Now I wonder how they will ensure that is going to happen. These guys know so many tricks, saved so many taxes elsewhere probably. I am surprised that he is allowed to sell at all. It is probably to save the football club I guess? I haven't understood it yet in its entirety. If someone knows more , please enlighten me. Does that mean he can take any proceeds from sales as long as there is no profits? Wouldn't that still be against the sanctions?
In fact, I am now paying more attention to other matters (I am from Russia and, as you understand, the war affects me almost directly), so I cannot say for sure the current state of affairs of Abramovich. But judging by the news that I accidentally see (for example, the arrest of a rabbi on the basis of a certificate from which Abramovich received Portuguese citizenship), no tricks will help him - they took him seriously.
All this has already had a serious impact on Chelsea and is likely to continue to do so in the future. I could be wrong, but this season Chelsea have one of the last chances to win the Champions League, the team is likely to face a crisis ahead.
Well, thanks for letting me know you are actually Russian!
Off-topic: I wish you guys and everyone all the best. May the suffering stop as soon as possible for all those who aren't guilty.
Yes Chelsea will have a hard time, but I don't think the Britain government will let them down completely. If one of those offers get accepted, there will again be a financially healthy individual or consortium supporting Chelsea in the future. Let's see how it plays out.
