Benzema was always second choice when Ronaldo was in Real Madrid that's just the way it was even when he had clear shot at goal the fans including would prefer he pass the ball Ronaldo. We wanted Ronaldo to have the goals to win the Ronaldo - Messi contest.  The departure of Christaino Ronaldo from Ronaldo gave room for Benzema to shine. PSG match was the perfect opportunity for Benzema to show the world how good he is and he outshined Kylian Mbappe who in the first had everyone's attention.

Benzema is an old player that is match for Messi during real Madrid and PSG match but it was as if Messi presence wasn't notice during the match and that worry me about his career. Despite been the same age, Messi remain the goat when compared to Benzema in history performance but I think Messi may exit playing after PSG contract. Mbabe is still the hot cake that even managed to help them conceide 1 goal but it all went south at the end.

It looks like Messi is coming to the end of his career. He was the best player in the world, but he no longer has the same influence, neither scoring nor assisting in the game. We can all see that he has no former strength. He is a football player we love, but we have to accept that he is getting old now.
Benzema is also old but still plays very well, he was legendary in the last game Smiley

Not sure how many more years Benzema will play. Though there is less talk about him, he is a great player. I would even say that Real Madrid have relied entirely on Benzema's performance over the last two seasons. The PSG team is not suitable for Messi. Because the players on the team are not friendly. This is due to the inexperience of the coach though. If we had an experienced coach, we would have seen a better performance from the PSG team.

And let me tell you that Lionel Messi was a lot more criticized because of his penalty miss in the first leg. If he had scored that penalty fans are saying that the outcome might have been different. I actually also think that there were certainly better options to take the penalty rather than Messi. I did think that something like this could happen but I didn't give Real Madrid much of a chance, to be honest. I think now we can safely say goodbye to the PSG coach.

Real Madrid winning PSG is something I never dreamt of.I don't know how they did it,but I was not expecting it at all,and this result now shows how inform Real Madrid is.
Karim Benzema is really a beast infront of goal, the goals he score were really superb,it showed how good he is,and when you have this kind of strikers in a team, you have everything.A striker that can single-handedly  give you a win.Strikers like him are very few and are hard to see.But when you have one,you are ok.
After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, it was Karim Benzema who seemed to replace him in this team. I don't mean to compare Ronaldo and Benzema. But that's what I see, when Ronaldo was still here, Benzema seemed to get less exposure because most people were focused on Ronaldo. Yes now he got a position he didn't get before.
In the sense of "creating something out of nothing" Benzema definitely did become a very good example for the team. Ronaldo used to be like that, even if he stayed, Ronaldo is not that player anymore, Messi is not either. Benzema is living probably last few years of his great performance before his body starts to age as well.

I believe that Benzema did replace Ronaldo in that sense, nothing like position or talent or anything like that, just the fact that he suddenly appears, does something you do not expect, and gets them a win. Which is why he is still quite dangerous and you are always at a risk of losing to Madrid because he could take a rabbit out of the hat.

Now it will be very interesting to see how this decision will affect the game and the results of Chelsea in the English league and in the Champions League.
It is definitely going to be demoralising for those Chelsea players, manager and the entire team/staff, it is a period of uncertainty, and that is definitely not good for the morale of the players, but they are professionals and i doubt they are just going to throw in the towel in the competitions they still are in, they will definitely fight to the end.
I read somewhere that they will now have a very limited budget for travel expenses, salaries and other expenses.
Yes, the sanctions really hit the club hard in every aspect of the word, i personally did not expect it to be of this extent, but it is what it is, and i am pretty sure the club is working behind the scenes to make the situation fairly better, it is really going to be bad for English football if a club like Chelsea just crumbles this way, it is really unfair, especially for the fans.

Previously Roman Abramovich had said that the proceeds from the sale would go entirely to the victims of the war in Ukraine, but after that the British government made a very unfair decision for Chelsea by freezing all income. In fact, Roman Abramovich himself will not receive money from the sale, but why does the British government seem to strongly condemn Chelsea from the war that took place there. It was a very unfair decision because Chelsea is only a football club and not a supplier of weapons, such a decision will certainly greatly disrupt Chelsea's future performance in both the EPL and UCL.
Indeed, if the realm of football has been entered by very vulnerable things like this, it will be very difficult. How this sanction should not be imposed, however independent the world of football is to unite to compete with each other. Somehow the continuation of sanctions against Chelsea will greatly affect the stability of Chelsea in all Leagues. England in addition to giving punishment, it is also a form of rejecting what the country is doing, but if it goes this far, I think it's too much.
This is if indeed when politics is mixed with sports then indeed this will not be true and is very difficult to accept by reason.
This is clearly something that is not fair, especially if the reason for selling is for the victims there of course this will be very helpful.
It's like classifying that all forms related to Russia are evil, in this case I think who is evil now

No guys, you got this wrong if I understand it correctly. Abramovich did NOT say that the proceeds will be forwarded to the victims of the war, but any profits from the sale that he might make. In essence, it is quite up to him when it comes to accounting and calculating his investment + expenditures and some potential profit from the sale. He could walk away with zero losses despite being sanctioned. If the full proceeds were to be forwarded to victims, I believe it would be ok. But if it's only the profits, it is just cheap trick to escape sanctions. The oligarchs who benefitted from Putin all their lives should also now pay the bill. You know, you can still have some calm sleep if you like Abramovich: he won't end up broke even without Chelsea Wink

There are only a few days left for the remaining games in this round of the CL. And among them, the most attention getting game for me is Manchester United - Atletico Madrid. Even though I see Manchester United as one step ahead of their opponent in this game, Atletico Madrid's recent performance in the La Liga has been really impressive too. Their great form can help them create a big competition against Manchester United here. I expect both of the teams to score above all else. And Manchester United might eliminate Atletico Madrid by the extra time or penalties.
I seem to have been carried away by the Atlético Madrid hurricane this time. would not be sure to drop a bet on Manchester United. As we have seen lately Manchester United has no chance of above 50% if it continues to decline. From every game Man United is difficult to control the game, even with a weaker club they look as if they will be made difficult to execute goals.

The Premier League board has disqualified Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as a director at the English top-flight club, the league said in a statement on Saturday.

Now it will be very interesting to see how this decision will affect the game and the results of Chelsea in the English league and in the Champions League.
I read somewhere that they will now have a very limited budget for travel expenses, salaries and other expenses.
It has even become questionable whether they will have enough money to continue competing in the Champions League.
This will now be a very difficult situation for the club and its players and fans.
Can Chelsea in these circumstances be equal to the competition in the Champions League and the national league?
The end of this season will probably be followed by a big sale of the team.

Yes, they made lot of mistakes in the first half and players like Toni Kross and Assesio were too lazy to utilise it but the players brought in the second half did the job and brought lots of energy that makes players at Paris Saint Germain looks as if they are not professionals,I rate varratti  as a good central midfield but never a good defensive midfielder in my opinion though,I love the relentless desire and effort vinicuus junior and Karim benzema put all through the match.
It is not Real Madrid mistakes but in fact PSG played so well in the first half. Real Madrid even did not come back before the mistake of Donnarumma and the equalizer from Benzema. Without that moment, PSG would have not collapsed and I doubt that Real Madrid would have not been able to come back.

PSG are always like that, they are weak mentally and their team are lack of a true leader who can tighten their team and boost their mental at important time. They have good quality but without a strong leader, captain, they will not be able to win big matches. Marquinhos is their captain but he even did not manage to complete his defense task. I am not sure why did he make the mistake which caused the third goal for Benzema.

All three goals were a result of school boy errors. All this could have been avoided with the all-star players PSG have in the squad.
Donnarumma started the unfortunate series of mistakes. PSG were giving balls away in the first half, their passes were not connecting it was more or less a team error. Real Madrid couldn't capitalize because the midfield wasn't balanced. PSG should do what Pep Guardiola did for Manchester City. Most of the players pep signed are not players who have reached their echelon of dominance, he brought them together and made them a team.

the next games will be much more difficult to predict, for example this game:

Manchester United - Atletico Madrid

manchester united is very bad they have problems in every sector of the field, while Atletico Madrid is very good, they managed to recover in the last games, after they drew against manchester united they had two consecutive victories in the league. The athletic is the favorite to win in my opinion

Have you changed your mind after yesterday's match between Atlético and Cadiz? Atletico playing at home against the 18th Spanish team looked like a bag and won with great difficulty (at the cost of a bunch of cards and nerves). Maybe this is a cunning plan to deceive United? Do not know  Grin For me, it will be a battle of two losers where it is impossible to predict anything.

maybe the one to blame in my opinion is the coach. I think it's time for PSG to look for a coach who has proven his achievements, and it is not difficult for PSG to get a top coach in the world. Even though the composition of PSG's players is very high quality compared to Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti is one very great coach while the PSG coach is unproven and has never won a championship. this is what differentiated Last night between Madrid and PSG

I agree with you. Pochettino has already been criticized too much so far. And this result should be the tipping point for them. PSG have a solid lineup but they still are having serious problems in the Champions League. A lineup like this should be able to achieve a title in this tournament at least for a few times. It is full of world star players now. But here we are. It doesn't seem like they will be able to make it under Pochettino's management so I think that they will want to bring Zinedine Zidane next season.

Hopefull Juventus, Chelsea, Manchester United and Ajax will make it to the next stage. By the way, everyone except Chelsea drew the first game, so that means all the others have about the same chances. There are some doubts about Ajax and Benfica, it's hard to predict, both teams have surprised everyone this season. Manchester United against Atletico is also difficult to predict, but I think the English will beat them.
Chelsea are very likely they will win after getting a win in the 1st leg.
while for Manchester United I think it will be a bit difficult because Atletico have almost the same quality as them and also Manchester United's game which has been very inconsistent this season makes me doubt that they can win this match.

I think it only affects the number of fans for Cristiano Ronaldo rather than Karim Benzema, so it's only natural that Karim Benzema isn't often exposed in the media.
From the position occupied by the two of them in the past (Real Madrid) is also different so that the role of Cristiano Ronaldo is very often seen there, and now everything is different for Karim Benzema too.
