Lots of interesting matches coming up! I count on Atletico to win against Chelsea... Bookmakers do not pick a clear winner and the odds for both teams to win are quite high! In my opinion Atletico looks stronger!
Chelsea have good results after the sack on Lampard. Thomas Tuchel has done his great works in his honey moon with Chelsea. Atletico Madrid is the above club in this pair but if they are careless, Chelsea have enough good player resources to win after two legs. With Tuchel who brought PSG to the final match in the last season, Chelsea is not a weak team.

Dunno about how Simeone and ATM staff are thinking right now but they aren't a favourite team in CL and they know that while in the other hand they are a major candidate for La Liga this season. ATM will try to advance for sure but will they show their maximum strength and play with their best team? I cannot count on them to defeat Chelsea unless I see the squad.
I think they want to win both La Liga and Champions League and at least now they can focus on Champions League. In La Liga, they have good points ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona. If they are careless and lose more points in La Liga, Barcelona can move closer to A Madrid as they almost are out of Champions League with the big defeat against PSG yesterday.

.....
Will Barcelona fired Ronald Koeman as coach because failed to give trophy champion league?
I do not know if they will fire him. He'll probably remain until the end of the season in La Liga.

.....
At least they got an way go which is very vital and would help them to plan for the 2nd league with the mindset of not conceiving and at least winning Porto by 2-0 to advance in the league.
Hold on. I thought the away goal means Juventus would only need one goal and not concede in the second leg for them to advance to the next round.

I was surprised that dortmund managed to win against sevilla given the fact that the bvb was performing so bad in the last weeks.
It's the same with Liverpool. Perhaps it brings more motivations for these teams to win the Champions League trophy since they are almost out of Bundesliga and Premier League title race.

Even though it started as i feared with the early lead of sevilla dortmund managed to equalize soon and even took the lead. Haarland is just a weapon in the offensive.
I still think though that sevilla still has a good chance to move on because the bvb is just not stable.
Yes i was surprised too since dortmund are not able to win at home in recent games and i think the end of the first half sevilla players lost their focus on the last 15 minutes and they conceided two goals but giving the match result they still has a chance at making it to the next round.

Lost my bets on both Juventus and Sevilla, damn. Both teams were dominating the game but effectiveness made both Porto and Dortmund won the game. Juventus is indeed lose the game, but having 1 away goal is an advantage for the 2nd leg as they will be the home team. A win is a must for them to go to the next round, 1-0 is enough but it is kinda risky. Juventus needs to make some early goals in the 1st half to boost their chance. Ronaldo seems to be in his bad days, he could not score goal in his last few matches. Hope he'll come back in his best form in the 2nd leg.

Well, I didn't warn you!?
Porto has a very good defense, with five players in the back row there was no way Juventus could pass with the bad game they were playing.
In any case, I also didn't expect Porto to score 2 goals.
So... if Porto had a good defense, Juventus had none, credits to Alex Sandro, who falter badly.

But we will not lose hope, on the 9th Juventus has the chance to turn the game around... one goal difference isn't so difficult to take.

Damn, these Champions league games cost me too much money... Both games ended with unexpected results.
Sorry about that, big games, big wins and loses too. The UCL is always an anticipated watch and bet game and as such, it's always a high stake game as its a league for champions but then, Juventus didn't have a good game this evening. Funny how they let Porto beat them so easily! At least they got an way go which is very vital and would help them to plan for the 2nd league with the mindset of not conceiving and at least winning Porto by 2-0 to advance in the league.
Dortmund had a good game, taking the steps of Liverpool, after doing badly in there league games, they work out there best with the UCL. Good for them.

I did not place bets because the odds were not so good but it seems we all missed Porto winning. Juventus clues were there already with the way they were winning by luck in Serie A and Ronaldo magic did not show up. My team is in Europa now so there is where I bet tonight (SPURS!).

Good for Dortmund too, but pity about Sevilla as well,,, no bad teams left in last 16 I have to say.

That won't come true, Barcelona's finances are in trouble. If able, I hope there will be two new players in the LB and RB position and 1 defensive midfielder. But they also still need a buzz up front like Suarez.

They will sell a couple of players who do not fit into the coach's plans. And I think it would be better if Messi was released. Otherwise, Barcelona will be out of the crisis for a long time. In La Liga they can still compete for the championship, but in the Champions League they can hardly count on anything. ...

Dortmund actually didn't have more impressive statistics compared to Sevilla but they managed to defeat Sevilla with a very nice score, 3-2. I was expecting a draw though. Yes, Dortmund are very unstable and we could be cautious about betting on them. But I think that Sevilla have a really hard work to do in Signal Iduna Park. If we see Haaland like this again, I don't give a chance for Sevilla.  Grin

Juventus started the game in the worst possible way by a huge mistake from Bentacour. They were shocked even more at the second half when they conceded another goal in just 25 seconds. They only woke up during the last 15 minutes of the game and it will be an easy qualification for them in the next leg in Turin.

Looks like Juve needs to be more attent at the start of a half. If a goal happens in the first minute it's not that great, but if it even happens at the second half there must be some concentration problem.

Let's see if Juve stil can win it next match. I assume it must be doable for them.

Agree with hd49728 about Haaland, with UCL his playground as usual, wish I picked him for my selection in fantasy football, seems I missed out on both him and Mbappe,,, which was a big overlooking but ah well, we still have a serious situation for both teams but now Sevilla must find a way to score two goals in other leg!

Let's talk about Halaand it's been a long time since we saw a breakthrough like his for alteast the past 10 years, a young man whom we have never seen in the same position playing the same role that Haaland has been doing since the beginning of his career with Dortmund.
Haaland belongs to the young generation, with Mbappe, Haaland, Sancho, Foden. They are the most promising talented players and might become the greatest player in the upcoming years.

Haaland began his career as a classic striker but after two seasons in Dortmund, I see his skills were improved a lot. Dribbling, connections to team mates, passing and finishing skills are all improved. He is one of the most productive players with goals in Champions League. Mbappe has a outperforming stats in Champions League at his 22 ages compare with Messi and Ronaldo. Haaland is on his way to do the same thing.

Halland , looks like a young zlatan with a mixed of henry and I love it! His skills are amazing!
Agree with you. Haaland is not only a classic striker and has many good skills.

Like I said so many times before I will say it again. Pirlo is not a good coach and probably never be. Why ? because he only trained 20 days on a team that had under23 players and after those 20 days he straight jumped into managing Juventus that has a "heavy" bench that needs a good strong coach who can input his style. Anyway, Juventus has chances just because they have the necessary players in order to win at 2 goals but it will be hard...
Pirlo is adaptive with his management philosophy and his adaptation can help he survives in the first season with Juventus. If he can keep his job after this season ending, I think the next season will be a key season to judge how good or bad Pirlo is as a coach.

Porto has an excellent defense, closes the spaces very well, and likes to do fast counterattacks. Juventus will have to be very careful in that game.

Juventus also failed to make it through to the last 16 of last season, so the emotional will also weigh heavily during the game... winning this first game is more than necessary to give Juventus some motivation.

But, we are talking about the Cristiano Ronaldo team that should play since Paulo Dybala is injured.

It will be a difficult game, and I would bet on a draw.
Porto with Pepe as a leader of their defense system, did their jobs excellently but I think Juventus were rejected a penalty. I did not say Porto do not deserve the 3 points but Juventus deserve a penalty at very late minutes.

Ronaldo had a bad match, only one shot and a poor performance in the whole match. Juventus have one goal away and they will go next if they win 1 - 0 at Juventus stadium in the second leg.

Lost my bets on both Juventus and Sevilla, damn. Both teams were dominating the game but effectiveness made both Porto and Dortmund won the game. Well, it seems that many of us have lost, especially with the Juventus game, the truth is I believed that Cristiano Ronaldo was going to solve it, I don't know, sometimes the performance of a player is not merely physical, it can. There will also be some problems that you may have on a personal level. He will surely improve, Cristiano's thinking is very positive, for him there are no failures, only learning, I am sure that for the next game Juventus will win.

And Juventus lost 2-1 versus Porto, they can recover in the second leg at home but without Arthur, Juventus has no one in the midfield.
It is not a bad result, mate. Juventus players got 1 point away, then they only need to have 1 score at home (with no conceded goals), they will be qualified to the next stage. Now, Juventus must focus to plan how to score fast in the first half in the next second leg. If they can score 2 goals in the first half, I am sure they will go to the next stage. Regarding Arthur, the coach must have the alternative, don't worry!!
I agree that the result for Juventus is much more favorable than for example for Sevilla. Despite the fact that the matches are played with empty stands and the concept of the home and away game is slightly leveled in the conditions of the pandemic, but the away goal rule still remains in force and Juventus has every chance to achieve a favorable result for itself in the return game. The only drawback is that Juventus will need to score necessarily, while Porto will be satisfied with a goalless draw.
The problem is that juventuse didnt face a team of the top tier and logicly they had the ability to make a draw at least...same thing happned to them in 2020 as they played againts leon and lose in the 1-8 finals...i wonder if they will be able to recover and save the season
