Monaco had a win yesterday against Paris Saint Germain by performance and result,
But what is important in this Is this result going to help Barcelona?
The answer is yes and no !! Yes, because that means that Remontada is possible and that Paris is a team that simply loses at home, and not because that means that the result of the go round was perhaps due to the weakness and fragility of Barca and not because of the terrifying strength of the Parisian club as we saw it !!

Barcelona need to play so much better than their performance in the first game of the draw. 1-4 is a very hard score to make a comeback especially in an away game. As long as Barcelona don't improve their game, there is 0 chance that they can manage to do it with a poor performance. To be honest, I think PSG will win the second leg also.

New week, new games.

Tuesday 23rd February
Atletico Madrid 20:00 Chelsea
Lazio 20:00 Bayern Munich

Wednesday 24th February
Atalanta 20:00 Real Madrid
M'gladbach 20:00 Manchester City

Source: https://www.skysports.com/champions-league-fixtures

Atalanta - Real could be a very interesting game, since Real seems not to be so strong and Atalanta is in a good shape, they just won 4-2 vs Napoli.

This is the champions league; where your league form or position is as useless as anything; in this regard i say Atletico Madrid will win chelsea with 3 goals; with a luis suarez brace.
While Lazio would trump Bayern Munich by 3 - 2 goals scoreline.

Real Madrid are a team of many colors; and which ever team shows up determines what kinda result to expect; but this is a tie where both teams score; a 2-2 draw is achievable.

Everything goes to the fact that in the next round only Atletico Madrid will represent Spain. Barcelona and Sevilla lost. Real Madrid has half of the team injured. And if one more player is injured today, there is no one to replace.
The good news is Eden Hazard can play against Atalanta. Even though almost half of the Madrid players are injured I hope they can do well. A draw is a great result in my opinion. Despite last year's history of beating Valencia in the last big sixteen phase, madrid are a different team. Successive wins in La Liga will have a positive impact. Even if many of their core players were injured, they should be able to play equally well.

If they want to risk him being not yet at full fitness that is. Problem with Hazard is he's so brittle. Play him less than 100% and he tends to break even worse AND take even longer to heal from that.

Draw will be a super good result for sure, judging from the current injury situation.

As far as I know, Hazard is still out for a few weeks. So it means that he will not play against Atalanta in the first game undoubtedly. But there is no certain thing for the rematch. Maybe we can see him in it. But the question is whether he will be able to adapt to the team again quickly after a long time.

There is another draw in this round which is between Lazio and Bayern Munich. The first match is gonna be played in Stadio Olimpico. Lazio defeated Sampdoria 1-0 last. Bayern Munich didn't win their last 2 matches and lost to Frankfurt 2-1 in an away match last. L. Felipe, Radu and Strakosha are injured at Lazio. Tolisso, Pavard, D. Costa, Gnabry and Muller are injured at Bayern. Maybe Bayern weren't good for 2 matches but still I think Lazio have near zero chance to eliminate Bayern. I think Bayern won't lose even the first match.

Although there has been no decision regarding Messi's contract at Barcelona, I am still optimistic that Messi will extend his contract at Barcelona.
Because after all Barcelona and Messi already have very strong connections, I think Messi will end his career at Barcelona. So I agree with you,
it's possible that Messi will not leave Barcelona. Although his performance has indeed decreased, at least Messi could be the leader for the younger
players at Barcelona.
A lot depends on Messi's financial appetites and the financial condition of the club itself. It is no secret that Barcelona is experiencing some difficulties in financial terms and probably will not be able to pay its main star in the same amount. Another issue is that the current epidemic has hurt many clubs and clubs have to cut their budgets. But I still think that PSG and Manchester City have not abandoned their plans to sign a contract with Messi and we will be waiting for the continuation of the soap opera about the employment of the Argentine player.

I don't agree with you that Messi is of no use to anyone. Of course Messi is not at the same level as before. Messi is essentially an advertising machine now. As for where he could be sold, I think it could be China. We all watch top players end their careers there.
You are right, although if it is not in China that they end up, it may be in the USA. But I don't think Messi will leave Barcelona, because since he was a child, Barcelona signed him and feels great sentimental value for the team, rather than selling for publicity, I think Messi is an icon for Barcelona and within his game, maybe don't have the same performance by age, but Messi resolve a game anytime.

Barcelona is unlikely to let Messi go. And at the moment no one really needs him. Only if used as a brand to make money. They have already learned to play against him. By releasing Messi, Barcelona will have to go a long way without trophies. Are the fans ready for this?

Yesterday I read that Man City had offered a new deal for Messi. Not sure about PSG but those 2 teams are definitely searching to make him joining them.
Messi will walk for free from Barca and they can't do anything to stop him unless they manage to win something this season which is unlikely to happen this season.

I think exactly the same thing. If Barcelona don't win the La Liga which seems hard, there won't be any reason for him to think about staying. I don't even talk about the CL because we can say that they are already eliminated. I don't talk about Copa Del Rey also because it doesn't carry as big importance as the La Liga. Even if Barcelona win the La Liga, it still doesn't seem to me like Messi will decide to stay.

That won't come true, Barcelona's finances are in trouble. If able, I hope there will be two new players in the LB and RB position and 1 defensive midfielder. But they also still need a buzz up front like Suarez.

They will sell a couple of players who do not fit into the coach's plans. And I think it would be better if Messi was released. Otherwise, Barcelona will be out of the crisis for a long time. In La Liga they can still compete for the championship, but in the Champions League they can hardly count on anything. ...

I also think Messi should be let go. Barcelona needs to change their tactics in the short term. Because right now they are weaker than the top 5 leagues. I'm not even surprised they conceded 4 goals in the match.

It was painful to watch Barcelona lose but that Dortmund win cheered my day. Haaland and Mbappe's performances were spectacular. I wonder where will Haaland go next season, clearly Dortmund can't hold him more. Maybe Real Madrid make a move for him, they need a good striker.

I didn't get to watch the match between Barcelona and PSG, but when I saw the results it really surprised me. What's wrong with Barcelona? how come they were humiliated by PSG which in that match were the guests. Did they play very badly in that match?

This is not a surpise. The club has been rumbling for a few months. Barca is hit hard by the pandemic. The club has 1.2 billion in debt and over 256 million will be due by mid-year. Plus the whole Messi topic, then the change in the board, etc.

Exactly. Barcelona have been fighting with so many kind of problems. They have been still doing great in La Liga for a very long time but it was really obvious that their job was going to be very hard against PSG. However, I didn't expect an embarrassing result for Barcelona even in the first game.

Coach or not, a team like Juventus cannot find itself in a situation like this. Everyone else has been facing covid-19 so that does not justify their lack of performance. I think it is more about the idea of football that Pirlo is trying to share with the team: and that simply is not working.
Juve is probably over and done this year.

performance .. (bad) physical performance can actually do a lot of damage, but in this case we would have to blame the "athletic trainer"
but they're hardly wrong at those levels, it's an exact science!
I really liked Zeman with his theories, he was an excellent athletic trainer in my opinion (a bit too aggressive coach)
but his "game" is funny to see
There are no more managers like Zeman or Carletto Mazzone and I am quite sure you remember both of them. So yes, Juventus was not prepared physically speaking and I would not blame Covid-19 for that as every other football team in Europe had to deal with it.

Chelsea are much better with Tuchel but this is a quite hard away game for them against a beast like Atletico. But it could be a good chance for Chelsea that the match will be in a neutral location. If Chelsea somehow manage to get a nice result there, they can have a big advantage in Stamford Bridge. I think both games of the draw will be very delightful.

Actually,,, I do not really think there is any home advantage even if they can play in their own stadiums, unless it is environment factor like unusual weather or different types of pitch but I think this neutral zone is just better for all teams in this covid situation.

Both should be very good games hopefully!

Barcelona have loss opportunity because playing as home they loss with bigger score and need to make more than 5 goals on second leg, I think is not easy for Barcelona because impossible mission if can win from PSG above 5 goal, how ever PSG will make their supporter happy can defeat Barcelona and have dream to final again.

Yes, I think it is a very tough mission. Moreover, in the second leg, it is likely that Neymar will return to play, and this certainly will make it more difficult for Barcelona, because to get through to the quarter-final they had to score 4 goals without a reply or at least can win with a score of 5-2 and so on.
Barcelona was playing against a weak PSG without some key players, as Neymar, Di Maria and still got outclassed by Mbappe. Barca managed a penalty that wasn't even created by them. So, It won't be surprised Barcelona survive once again. Honestly they're not at least in good form, Barca defense so week that anyone can penetrate.
