Even if Austria won the 2 games in qualification against North Macedonia, I think it will be a draw. Austria played very poorly in their last games. Later i see the Netherlands as winner.

I think North Macedonia will win today. A few days ago, the North Macedonia team won against a strong team like Germany. And they’ve been in tremendous form for the last few matches. After the win against Germany, the players of North Macedonia are now mentally very exuberant. If Austria can't play well today, they will lose. They have to play very carefully. Because the players of North Macedonia are quite aggressive.

A win would definitely surprise me, but it is not impossible and it is true, the North Macedonians have self-confidence even if Austria has just made it 1-0. But it was a very well timed and beautiful goal.

But I'm still not convinced that Luke Shaw and Grealish are missing from the starting lineup, whatever the reasons.

There are lot of players who weren't named in the starting lineup today but what can you do with so many good players in every position. Southgate is smart and I am sure he will roll them out in next upcoming fixtures. Southgate was smart adding two defensive mids like Rice and Philips which added further cushion to the defense line and honestly they did quite well. It was obvious that Croatia would find it difficult to score.

The most interesting match in this group is going to be England vs Scotland. There is too much bad blood between the two countries and they are facing each other after a gap of 4 years (back in 2017, the world cup qualifier match between the two ended in a 2-2 draw, with Harry Kane equalizing for England in the last minute of injury time). It would be great to have a win by Scotland this time, although I know that it is unrealistic given the current form of the England team. Anyway, I have already marked my calendar for this match on 18th June (this Friday).

It's a difficult one for England, because it's a local rival. You would normally expect a team like England to beat a team like Scotland fairly easily... but with such a fierce rivalry between the two nations, anything can happen.

I looked at the statistics after the game and what is amazing is that they are basically very balanced. But if you watched the game, you had the feeling that England dominated the game. Croatia didn't have a really good chance either, while England had several good ones. If you hadn't seen the game, you could draw the wrong conclusions, because you would think the game was very close and England would have won happily. This is how statistics can be deceiving.
The first victory in its opening matches in history came at Wembley, the stadium that English fans wish to crown their country's national team on its simplicity and in front of their eyes..
But I'm still not convinced that Luke Shaw and Grealish are missing from the starting lineup, whatever the reasons.
I think that Croatia exaggerated in defense and when they conceded the goal its offensive problems appeared, even though it theoretically they have one of the best midfield lines in the tournament.

They seems to have settled for a 0-1 defeat and will be happy if England doesn't score another goal. Now this match looks boring. Can we talk about the next match (Austria vs North Macedonia)?  Grin We also have the Netherlands vs Ukraine match later today, which maybe another one sided affair. Once again, the only question is regarding Netherlands's winning margin.
The one goal was all that England needed and now they have their three points, as a team you can't play in an exciting way all the time, but in those days you don't play so well, you ought to try to win, be it by a slender margin or whatever, and that's what England did today. I'm pretty sure they'll still work on themselves and prepare better for the next game.

Netherlands should win comfortably, but in football anything is possible, and prolly Ukraine can present them with an upset, Netherlands haven't been too good in recent tournaments, but they can make this particular one different and go pretty far.

I think nobody consider Croatia as potential contenders to win EURO 2020, I think even most people from Croatia don't have such expectations. They're going to fight for 2nd place in group most likely with Czech Republic and it's not going to be easy.
True, people in Croatia don't see us as one of the contenders (me included) as it's not the same team as it was in Russia but still I expected from players like Modric, Brozovic and Kovacic to control the middle, but I guess that was too much to ask Cheesy. Regarding England, they don't look any better than they were in previous years.

Generally, for us goal is always to reach the 2nd round, and anything above that is bonus. This year is no exception.

Modric was the only outstanding player in the Croatian side today he was dishing out accurate passess all over the pictch however his team mates played badly
Yep. Unfortunately, he can't do everything by himself. Vrsaljko was especially bad, by far the worst player on the pitch, followed by the completely lost Brozovic.

I forgot how really good this England squad is on paper.  I haven’t checked the outright lines yet but they could be one of the favorites to win it..  Prolly right up there with Belgium and maybe Germany and France?
After watching them today against Croatia, I honestly don't see how they can win Euro. I mean, we (Croatia) were absolutely horrendous, basically all team beside maybe Modric and one or two players were utter shit. Best of all, by some projections it's even better to finish 2nd in the group, and avoid some tough teams in the next round, so not all is lost for Croatia, but after what I saw today I am not the optimist at all.

Gonna miss Austria vs North Macedonia and then watch Netherlands vs Ukraine.

Slava Ukraini!
Not the most exciting game between England and Croatia. England haven't done nothing extraordinary, but managed to beat Croatia.
Now Austria - North Macedonia game is next. It doesn't sounds very interesting, but still. I'm taking Austria to win @1.78 and under 2.5 @1.57.

No card, corner or goal for the last 25 minutes of England-Croatia ugh. Last time I bet on them was a Croatia upset during World Cup but glad I only put England on a parlay for this one. Dull huh?

1-1 is the statistically most common result in football matches. So somehow it's not that surprising that it went 1-1. Not a bad game in itself. In Denmark - Finland I don't expect a 1-1 final score, but crazy things can happen in such tournaments. I expect a lot from the Belgians tonight. Denmark is not even an outsider, I think. Although they do have some good players. They also said the same of the team that became European champion in 1992. I would of course give it to the Danes.

I've heard variations of this statistically most common result but think it really does depend on the league/country you play in. Premier League and Championship games, it's been consistently 1-0 as the most common result, between 15-20% of all results for past few years. Also the most common scoreline of Liverpool's wins.

I look at the correct score market and in general, 2:1 has a lot of value. This is Euros, and we're already seeing two 3:0s, two 1:0s... I suspect we're going to get more 3:0s and 1:0s than more any other result. But that's not scientific, just my feeling looking at the groups and how they're set up.

Until the game ended the score remained unchanged, although the ball possession of both teams was almost the same but as you said the match was very boring. With this result, England is at the top of Group D now, despite a narrow win over Croatia, but this is a pretty good point for England going into the next matches because the Czechs and Scotland are not easy opponents to beat.

10 minutes remaining and the only question now is whether England will be able to extend their margin. Apart from Modric, the other Croatian players look out of form. They seems to have settled for a 0-1 defeat and will be happy if England doesn't score another goal. Now this match looks boring.

It's a shame that so few goals have been scored while it's 1-0 and the game is almost over. Still an important win for England, as group wins in the next round normally yield a weaker opponent. Croatia is a difficult team, England will be happy that they are now probably 1st in the group. The cross schedule is already known, so England could already be looking at who it is likely to play against, if nothing weird happens.
I do not know what to think about the Dutch team. It seems they are going to play with 5-3-2. Very defensive, many things are written. Ukraine has Zinchenko, the string player from Mancester City. Very curious about Frenkie de Jong this tournament.

Holland is also part of that circle of national teams that are slightly advantaged and that, during the group stage of Euro 2020, will be able to count on the warmth and enthusiasm of their fans. Among the venues chosen for the unusual itinerant European Championship there is, in fact, also Amsterdam with its evocative Johan Cruijff Arena. This will be the home of the Oranje in the matches against Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia, the other three national teams that make up Group C.
Holland is slightly favored over Ukraine, in a match with at least one goal each side. I would not exclude that the first half ends in a draw, though.
